    Thanks so much, Linwood! My mama's a trained stylist, but... she's always been too busy to be a patient, thorough educator. When I tried to learn to flat twist, her instructions were, and I quote: Just twist it! 😖
    You out here helping heal intergenerational trauma 😘

      Actually with this tutorial and your moms advice I was just able to successfully do a flat twist.
      This is the most informative video I think I've ever seen but it was taking me too long to pick it up usually I'm good first try.. so after 4 failed attempts I came to the comment section and it's something about a mom's saying lol
      So I applied that "just twist it" and it was easier and better; I tried it again with the confidence of just twist it so I did and it turned out lovely.
      Thank you both🎉❤

    This was very helpful. I have mostly 4a hair with a patch of 3c in the front and I couldn’t figure out why my flat twist would look so undefined while my 2 strand twist look so good. I guess the 3c patch needs to be twisted while I’m flat twisting because my flat twists in the front of my head look just like the beginning of this flat twist.

    Best flat twist tutorial ever. I have been struggling with my seven year olds. 3C hair. Lin I was always told never to put products in your hair before getting a protective style bc it creates buildup and greasiness,come with hair that has NO PRODUCT I'm a little confused abt you applying leave in,love your content

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  Год назад +3

      I always apply product for styles like twists, now for a sew in I don’t apply products to the braids, etc. but if the protective style is going to be worn as a style, then I do. It helps ensure longevity of the style with a lack of frizz, and a leave in helps ensure the moisture balance is high prior to going up. This helps prevent breakage during the takedown.
      Should you ever have build up, a clarifying shampoo will do the trick at removing it, and then just follow it with a moisturizing deep conditioner.
      I hope that helps add perspective!

      I hope the mannequin serves you well! I show how to shampoo it so it doesn’t get matter in this video: ruclips.net/video/qXr41-gzfSQ/видео.html
      I also share some of its capabilities in terms of styling. (Remember not to scrub her scalp, she can’t feel it and that tangles mannequins horribly, even straight haired ones)
      Thanks for your purchase!
