    I made these one day when we had no bread and no money. Flour, water, salt, frying pan. They were a big hit. Nice with some grated cheese mixed in too. The other thing that's lovely with cold meats is German potato bread. I use the Hairy Bikers' recipe and it's pretty foolproof.

      I love The Hairy Bikers, their tiramisu recipe was a godsend when my aunt was pregnant and couldn’t have raw eggs or alcohol.

    Picalilli is the all time best condiment with cold meats and cheeses.
    I make my own as the commercial brands are very iffy.

    Made this tonight brushed with garlic butter and chilli flakes, served with butter chicken skewers, Spanish onion, crème fraiche, carrots and lettuce. The bread was the star. Can’t believe I haven’t tried making it before!

    Nice. Or make a big Yorkshire pudding in a large square pan. Use it as a wrap for all the leftovers, like a big flatbread/burrito Yorkie.

    Love these!! Used to make similar for Indian food. Not sure if it would have been traditional Naan but they are yummy.

      Yessir, they're called Roti (the Indian flatbread) or maybe Paratha, these are the 2 classic Indian flatbreads

    Even easier, mix equal parts flour and greek yogurt, season, quick knead then into a hot pan, even quicker and easier flat bread

    The day after Christmas in my house we make hot open faced sandwiches. You take a piece of bread that you toasted...put that down first, the add your thinly sliced beef, next a pile of fries (chips if your European), top with a really good brown gravy and some buttered peas. Its the best thing ever. Must be eaten woth knife and fork! Hope some people can try it this year. I know ill be eating it.

    Flat bread
    *1cup & a half flour
    *1teasp & a half baknpwder
    *Half teasp salt
    *1tablesp honey
    *2tablesp olive oil
    *Add half cup warm water
    *Nead 10 times
    Add water as need
    *Let sit, cover 30 min
    *nead for 5 minutes
    *Cut into 6 pieces
    *Roll to 7 inches
    *Cook in cast pan
    Ok... let's see...

    Great recipe! How come it needs to rest when made with baking powder and not yeast? I thought the neeting and raising was for the bacteria to fill the dough with air? Can anyone help enlighten me? :)

    I can make schnitzels, casseroles, steak n mushy pies, lasagne, all roasts, stuffed chicken, curries, stroganoff, cakes, biscuits and deserts of all kind but I cannot, after years of trying make bread. It just never rises. I've tried packet, bottle and boxed yeast, a dozen recipes, even a bread maker - it just never rises without either failing completely or having 90% bubble inside. I gave up and just buy it.

    Andy, I have never had a problem with your instructions before. But you said you can use any flour, juad not self-rising flour. Then you proceed to mix flour, baking powder and salt... Which is just what self-rising flour is.
    Sure the proportions aren't going to be quite what you'd mix, but I guarantee that self-rising will do in a pinch.

    You say "just not self raising flour" but then add baking powder to plain flour. Couldn't I just use self raising without the extra baking powder and still achieve at least a pretty similar result?

    You always create amazing videos!!! Never disappoint! We have a similar recipe but we use avocado oil, all purpose flour, baking soda, warm water and a pinch of salt , we cook it on a flat surface and call them tortillas, and whatever you want to put on it, wrap it and we call it BURRITOS

    I wouldn't recommend adding flour whilst kneading. You'll just keep adding flour until it's so dry that it doesn't stick rather than developing gluten. It's better to not add any flour whilst kneading and just work through the stickiness, eventually it will form a nice dough

    Even easier one? Flour and Greek yogurts in equal parts and a tea spoon of baking powder. Leave for 15 mins, then roll flat and cook in a dry pan and you basically got fluffy flat bread I use for gyros or add seasoning to after cooking for fake naans you can make at home

    Stop adding flour when your kneading, your throwing off the hydration of the dough. you’ll know when it’s properly kneaded when it stops sticking to the bench. Look up slap and fold kneading technique.

    I have a question. What can I substitute for the honey? I don't have any honey right now and I also don't have any money either. LOL But I would like to make this and give it a try. So if I could make it without honey that would be great because I don't buy honey ever unless I have the money and a recipe calls for it. Actually I'm not the biggest fan of honey. I'll use it in a recipe if it calls for it, but I don't just buy honey to have it on hand.

    No, self raising would work for this as long as you don't add the baking powder because the self raising flower already has baking powder in it
