    I bought a 2021 Jeep Rubicon 392 and still drive it daily. I also have it set up for towing behind my motorhome. I’ve owned it for almost 3 years and still only have 20,000 miles on it. I have owned many of Jeeps in my day and this is by far my favorite Jeep of all time! We will keep it as long as we live.

    In buying my first jeep, to be MY2024, I was indecisive between the Rubicon X and the Rubicon 392. Someone suggested that if I am that close to considering the 392 but bought the X then every time I'd see a 392 I'd have thoughts about should I have bought the 392. That was a persuasive thought. Ultimately I chose the 392 and am very glad about it.

  • @rubberneck67
    @rubberneck67 8 месяцев назад +23

    Its worth every penny for the 392! Its a completely different animal and so much more fun. I wouldn't agree the steering is "worse" on my 392 than the V6 it does feel heavier but i prefer it. It feels mory "sturdy and planted" best way i can compare the two jeeps. Mileage wise in my experience, the 392 gets 3 mpg worse in all scenarios as long as you arent hotrodding around.

    • @rubberneck67
      @rubberneck67 8 месяцев назад +3

      @cpk2GIRL not sure. I switched companies so I dont have a direct comparison. I just looked and my comprehensive is 1600 per year on the 392. I'd imagine that's going to vary wildly depending on age and where you live

  • @cheeng1
    @cheeng1 8 месяцев назад +8

    Yes it's worth it, provided you can afford it. The 392 is basically a hot rodder. If you wanted a jeep + fast car, you'd spend more for two vehicles than the cost of the Wrangler 392 to get that level of performance. Thats why many manufacturers have high performance variants of their halo-type vehicles. If you just want a jeep for kickin around, then it's not worth it. Personally I think the 2.0t or the 3.6 is plenty, but I'm older and drive slow.

  • @TheEmpowermentCoach

    Great video! I’m currently deciding between the two models, and I think it’s important to factor in the overall cost of ownership. The 392 comes with additional expenses like premium fuel, higher insurance rates, registration fees, and maintenance costs. So, it’s not just the $25k price difference-you’re likely looking at an extra $3-5k in yearly expenses, depending on the state you live in and how much you drive. You also have to include sales tax.
    In California, my estimate is approximately $4,620 - $5,420 more annually in ownership costs for the 392 compared to the Extreme Recon. This doesn’t include the one-time sales tax difference of around $1,700. Over a 70-month period, that adds up to about $28,650 - $33,317 more in total costs.

    I bought a 2014 Rubicon, the following year I took it to Moab and then I ran the Rubicon trail with it. My Jeep is special to my now and I can’t see me ever parting with it.
    Had the 392 been available back then sure I would have got one just for the daily drive.
    However, I can’t see how a 392 would be any better at off road speeds climbing up the rubicon.

    Ben good video. With that said I will have to seriously disagree. If someone is willing to spend 100,000 on a jeep may as well buy a Ford raptor. And the wrangler v6 isn't even worth 72000. Maybe 49000. But jeeps don't deserve to be classified as deserving to be sold so expensive.

    • @TheEmpowermentCoach
      @TheEmpowermentCoach 4 месяца назад

      I assume with 100k people have to compare the Raptor, Raptor R, Broncho Raptor, and even the TRX (low add-ons). But a jeep is the only thing that can do Jeep things (break-over angle, solid axels, narrow to fit tight trails, tight turns, etc.) So for me, I’m still deciding between the two on the video. I think we have to add cost of ownership here as well… premium gas and higher insurance, registration, maintenance, etc. Its not just 25k more expensive, its about $3-5k more per year.

One they want to race me and expect to win. They’ll never beat a V8 6.2. Once they see they can’t beat me they get upset. I’m like what did you expect ?
