    how could I do this with moving footage from a home project or something like that?

      You have to track the camera first. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube.

    How did you remove the cars from the composition?

      He probably just went into photoshop and painted them out.

      Photoshopped them out using the clone tool but i think you could use generative fill now!
