why do you only get one shot at setting your landscape parameters? Why isn't all that saved as a modifier or something you can easily get back to under the plane object? thx for the tut.
Wow man. This is very good
great vid but you need to work on not cutting out a few seconds of vital screen information, at 8:45-8:50 im lost because you suddenly duped 2 and picked a random texture without showing us.... not good
TO CREATE A FOREST :
Step 1) get blender
Step 2) jump in a lava pool
at around 6:50 in that technique didn't work, i just got a grey color
same
switch from eevee to cycles renderer
and use rendered view not material preview
I think you have to connect the color dot from the image texture with the base color dot from the Principled BSDF
I had the same problem, I used the wrong geometry node to connect to the color ramp. 'pointiness' isn't the bottom selection in the latest blender and I didn't check, so accidentally 'used random per Island'
thank you so much for your video, it helped me a lot !!
Excellent ! Jurassic Park can keep quiet...
I'm at the compositing stage trying to use Scene Depth > Map Value. No matter what values I tweak on the Map Value, my whole scene is covered, I can't isolate the hills in the foreground... does anyone have any suggestions?
For those who can't see the map value, I don't know the principle, but when I restarted the computer and re-rendered an image, it worked. You can try it.
If anyone is still around this awesome tutorial..... at 6:40 my geometry node and color ramp aren't showing the whites and blacks, only on solid shade. Any tips would be super appreciated.
You are using eevee. Pointiness only works in cycles...
@@Blemonade1 Appreciated 🙏
@@tindus13 A workaround is to bake the pointiness map in cycles and then switch back to eevee
Due to the rendertime, this video should be called "Create a Realistic Forest in 3-5 Hours | Blender 2.8 Tutorial" #GTX1060
I hate you but I don't want to get caught by the redditors
Relatable
More like 8-10 hours because internet explorer wouldn't load the video.
You actually have fast renders.... I took 28:50:27.... hours....
@@mousediscord2803 It took me 69 hours 59 mins 59 secs | #RTX2080SUPER
He actually makes no clickbate titles like blender guru (or somethig like this) does. Blender guru titles are f.example "interior in 30 mins" where video is 40 mins and its just cutouts of the video which actually has about 2-3hours.
Awesome tutorial! Final result looks stunning!
