    Probably not intentional on Araki’s part but Joseph using hermit purple in SC to swing off buildings in Cairo always gave me Spider-man vibes. Theres also a good amount of characters in Jojo that take inspiration from it and may also be why part 3 has a more multinational cast and settings. A few characters that could possibly have inspiration from Kinnikuman characters would be Joseph who shares many characteristics to the main character Kinniku and Polnareff who could draw inspiration from the character Terryman as they share a similar kind of introduction and development in the main cast.

    My favorite coincidence is that while the Part 4 anime was airing, so was Osomatsu-san, making the joke just as relevant then as it was in the manga, if not more so.

    in his book manga in theory and practice araki talks about the kinnikuman authors being inspirational since they were successful 16-year-olds in his age group at the start of the manga which gave him hope to keep drawing.

    • @lordfreezer5631
      @lordfreezer5631 Год назад +1

      Well kinnikuman was basically an inspiration for any mangaka of the time. It is literally the creation of the battle mangas. Before then most mangas were about sports, police/action themed, or comedy. Kinnikuman's authors did something that no one did before them in the manga industry and it's for this big step that later manga like Dragon Ball or One Piece became a thing
