Agreed. When I went raw vegan, and used a herbal detox kit that I got from one of these black gurus, and drank nearly a gallon of water a day, my hair grew back thicker within 2 months. Also, I was using the Doogrosulfur8 edge grow challenge without the fertilizer or wild gro oil. But, maybe like, a year or so later, my hair started thinning, drying and breaking. When I did the challenge, it made it worse. The herbal detox kit helped the most so I'm thinking it could have also been a mineral deficiency on top of bad eating habits and not drinking a lot of water.
I know many people have already said this, but YES! to this routine. I've gone back to shampoo, a GREAT leave in conditioner, and hair grease! I braid it up and leave it for a week or two. I wrap it up most days (except for dance class, but for that I just sort of tuck it up and let it be--I don't care what it looks like). My hair is super kinky (I'm talking the tightest coils you can imagine. Whatever you have it mind, it's tighter than that). Within a month my hair was longer and stronger. I keep meaning to do a length check. It's somewhere around collar bone length and it was a little below the ear when I started this routine in the summer.

Be careful using grease in your hair! It traps in moisture and your hair can break from over moisturizing. I didn’t know this was possible but I tried grease in my hair but with a lot more water and hair cream, then some grease on top thinking it would be a good idea and in just 2 weeks my thick coarse texture became soft thin and my hair started to break off. The first sign before this happened was that after I washed the grease off, my hair was abnormally frizzy. I tried the grease for another week and my hair was breaking a lot.
