There are 2 types of riders...
Those who spend tens of thousands on brand new bikes trying to make riding as easy as possible for them to be competitive
And Those who adapt their riding style to whatever bike they have and make what they have work for them.
Keep doing what you do! You have all my respect ✊🏻
And then guys like me who spend thousands keeping old junk running LOL
There are 2 types of riders...
Those that have an XR 600 and...
...those that don"t.
such a great bike, the sound of that low roar.
The dude on the husky you can tell he was getting mad lol. Nice job. Nice mods.
Hahaha
Raced and rode a 93, xr600 for few years, put a HRC 628cc big bore kit in it ! It was even faster and started great
Добрый день, у меня xr500 1989 года, я могу установить комплект 650 , не подскажите пожлцдет
Alright bro now I wanna see you whoop some ass on a TW200 LOL

great bike- beautiful wheels!
I have a extremely old yamaha xt250 that I slightly modified for offroad riding only... all I did was install some full knobly tyres, got rid of the lights and speedometer even took the kickstand off aswell as the horn, slapped a motocross number plate on and some fresh grips. Makes me feel like a superhero when I pass people on their new race bikes with the pile of crap I ride.
I had a 94 xr600 and loved that bike. With the low-end power and 10lb flywheel I could out climb all of my buddies on their new 450f's, that thing just hooked up and got traction. I loved the supple suspension for off road, but can't believe the jumps you are hitting with it, mine would bottom out every time the wheels left the ground. Your channel is bringing back good memories, keep it up!
that is a lovely bike !!
The airbox cover clips are Dzus 1/4 turn clips.
Some mods that are common for hard uses, and glad to see that the suspensions are sufficient for racing (as I said to my mates: XR's got the best OEM suspension system) , but some loose bolts on sprocket are not serious man ! Even I agree about this part of the bike is the XR's weakness, as there is no "shocks hub" for the rear wheel. Wow, here in France, never seen a bar as yours... at its time, just use some Renthal as usual, and they were enough sufficient on my 600XR (mostly used for long lasting trips on dust, sand and gravels roads)
This is awesome dude
Jake, you are a lucky son of a gun. Nope, it's not all the hot bikes in your shed. I just wish I had a wife/gf who was OCD about dirt bikes. Also, I loved the mods but I'm not really convinced such a light bike needs those bendy bars so high up. Might put them on my XRV 750 marathon because it is really heavy when I fill up the tanks and it's significantly higher than stock.
Desde que tengo conciencia quiero esa moto...aunque no entiendo el inglés siempre veo tus vídeos... Saludos desde Paraguay
I tried the Lectron carb route after watching your video. According to Lectron, they do not make a carb for an XR600R. Nice video though!
It's going on their website today or tomorrow. But even if you don't see it on the website they can hit it for you period just call them and tell them you want what Jake's got.
UN MISIL LA XR600R! LA MEJOR ENDURO! NO HAY CONQUE DARLE!👍👍✌🇦🇷🇦🇷
"they are a pound too heavy"
Well you're a pound too heavy.
OMG lol 🤣
I just picked up a 1998 XR600R last week. Was curious if you run the stock gearing? Also are the Flex bars any higher than the factory bars and do you run risers? Last question what wider foot pegs are you running?
What was that, 12 rpm coming out of the corners??
Yeah the Lectron will make a big difference in racing, i was thinking of getting one for my TTR600, but for casual enduro it's just to much money, not worth it...
How did you get your exhaust angled out like that? I run the same pipe, and its pointed too far in, so it is melting my fender.
God I love her questions... She shows real interest
Just wondering about Lectron carb. I have an xr650r and an considering changing out my stock carb. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Brook
gotta get me a set of those wheelmaster wheels
You ever going to go to the modern forks I’m in the process currently on my XR400
Dude. is your rear caliper mount in the swingarm slot...
👌
How much better is the Lectron, do you think the higher idle would affect riding in tight woods
Only guys this age that love the XR600 probably spent some time chasing someone they admired. Chased them while riding an XR80.
i think a hose clamp would work good for the exhaust..lol just file it thinner if u need too
On that 4th gate drop you shot out so fast you jammed the gate into the ground
Nice Bike
awesome bike dude. but what is the big scooter you have it?
The airbox clips are called dzues clips / fasteners. Still available from honda.
Thanks!!

Hi, Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. I just wanted to know about your Lectron carburetor. could you please tell us more and what is the Lectron diameter for XR600
I would like to know too. I wonder if it makes starting the beast any easier.
@@geronimomadmartin3499 mine is having OEM carburetor and it can start very easily with a jsut little kick ;)
@@slppissa Mine is only easy to start if I ride it every day. If I don't ride for a week it's much more difficult.
@@geronimomadmartin3499 Clean the pilot jet well and check it and I am running around 3 turns out air mixture. but with your altitude the jet needle position is also important.. also check the vavle clearance ;)
I really feel like riding that motorcycle
XR 600 de best 💪💪💪
Could you please tell me which is your rear fender? I m looking for a fender without holes for xr 600 .. thanks
The C, in CV carb, is C for Constant. The V is for velocity
I liked my flexx bars but the lower tube split. I was curious out the lectron, does it have a pump shot?
No
I've got the mccooney flatslide from x.R's only. I hate it. It likes to stick closed. The idle screw cuts a groove into the slider. Then it starts sticking closed. Bought a new slider in idle screw. Now it's doing the same thing again. Huge distraction.
What ever happened to your 1993 xr650l?
What the cam grid degrees that you're running?
What can you say about keihin fcr40 (41) mx on xr600r?
CV carb (contestant velocity carb) . Horrible carb for jump good on road so I get why you would go with the carb you went with. I am constantly breaking spokes. Do you know a web site for spoke can't find them for my bike but I'm also running a 17 inch wheel. Pain in ass
is that seat cover for a crf 450r ? cool bike....
As I am not so familiar with the XRs, are the stock hubs rigid, too? Or do they have damping elements between the actual hub ans the sprocket carrier? That would explain the weight difference and also the additional perceived flex. Not sure the bike could be ridden on road as a dual sport bike with the Warp 9 hubs.
No they do not have cush drive hubs
The incredibly arid sense of humour only goes to platform probably the best motorcycle anyone can ever own.
In the early 90's I desert raced my 92 Honda xr600r with great success, running 14-48 sprockets, Not to mention the best handling bike I ever owned!
Where can I get that lectron carb for the 600? I’ve looked but have never found one
Just call them and tell them you want the same carb as Jacob
What is the name of your recommended carb ? I am struggling with flooding issues on my XR .... and I am fed up removing the Keihin frequently...greetings from Germany....
Do you really race that thing with a kickstand on it how freaking crazy is that
What bend flex bars are you running? 10,12, 15 degree etc? Have you tried them on your YZF?
That's a good question. At the time I ordered them I told them to give me the bend that was the closest to the stock Kawasaki 450 bend. And no I haven't put them on this particular 250 FX, but the fx needs them more than the XR.
@@fastguysslowbikes Their comparable bar should be the 12 degree moto, similar to oem Kawasaki and Yamaha. Thinking of trying them on my '20 YZ450F. Thanks for the vids.
Have an knowledge of how a XR400 is? Worth looking into?
@7:23 Was that tightend with LocTite? ;)
Not sure. The shop did it
Jesus lol come to Spain and see some of the XR600’s tyres here , so worn they are now slicks. (I know the tyre in the video is on the 250)
What tires are you running
Suspension?
Tubliss was one of the best mods I've done. 100mph on the freeway with 0 psi both full knobby tires for proof of concept.
Put one on my RM 250 they are incredible! You don't realize how much traction your loosing till you try one! My bike felt insanely fast because the power was actually going to the ground. Had the same one for years. In moto nasty rocks sand everything just maintenance it an they should last
Two XR600'S that's like lots more ×'s sweeter that one I keep a pretty big piggy heard myself 10
There's a guy in san jose ca, that makes a bearing adapter to run a crf450 front end, be a good mod for this beast
For the forks and all? I don't want crf forks. Too stiff.
@@fastguysslowbikes always can have them resprung and valved or fit a kyb fork, the mod just allows the use of the bigger modern bearing size
@@braap_biglunch but then why would I spend money on stiffer forks just to make them feel more like the XR forks?
@@fastguysslowbikes you actually like the wet noodles? I personally prefer to have the front wheel point perpendicular my handlebars rather than wander around doing its own thing, but I guess that’s just me.
@@rustyshackleford653 mine goes where I point it.
This fucker is one helluva rider. Been watching him for years! He can take a 650l and ride it like it's a 250r.
Why isn't there a link for any of these parts
Best bike Honda has made for off road and single lane. Try a yokahama super digger
I'm looking at taking over my Dad's old XR. did you do anything to the suspension? I know I'll need to respring it as I'm a bit heavier any other recomendations?
I recommend riding it first to make sure that it even needs adjustment. And then sending it to a professional and telling them what kind of riding you'll be doing
@@fastguysslowbikes thanks, I've ridden it a couple times and it bottoms out really really easily
What is the name or brand of your tubeless mod, i never seen such a Red Tube on a rim. Is it a complette kid for every Bike and rim? Does it fit also fore the T7?
Tubliss
Hey curious what your camera setup is
This was shot with my note 10. But I have another video on my channel about helmet cam chin mount setups if you want to know what I use racing.
Curious on your suspension set up? Stock? Stiffer springs? Ect... 👍🏻
Stock
Appreciate the reply! I have a sweet big bore xr400 build I’m 3/4 way done, local A rider aswell, keep ripping 🤘🏻
Nice Vídeo and nice xr. A question, wich tires has the last yamaha shown ?
How many people caught the brake check at a minute 25
somebody please buy this dude a bottle of loctite
What size carb?

Can you tell me the part number for that electronic carb? I have a xr 600r
Just email lectron and tell them you want what Jacob Gilliam has!
i want to know what you eat , what you drink , your sleeping routine and if possible a little bit of your blood -i've sold my 6oo to spend more time with the kids , now they dont need dad anymore and i'm whitout my thrusty steed (ive had a yam 400 2stroke, xr 500 ,350,suzi 250 xr 350, xr 600)-still miss my 600,loads off fun never let me down-i'm 59 and still get ....exited only by thinking of my xr
Muy buen video amigo una pregunta de que marca son los rines
Ask in English and you'll have a better chance of getting a response
Whats about forks?
xr600r power
Most of these bikes are pretty beat or heavily modded that I’m coming across. What’s the going rate for a fair deal on an XR 600?
Of you want a fair deal be prepared to shop for years.
Everyone thinks they're soooooo special.
I paid $2200 for this and I had to drive 12 hours away to get it.
They're not that special. I just wanted it for the channel.
@@fastguysslowbikes I mean, it’s awesome that they’re solid bikes and run for years. But some of the prices I’m seeing, I’m not that far from a new bike that I can take my time upgrading. Thanks for the reply, and I enjoy the channel! Thanks for making a slow guy think he can actually ride fast in the dirt!
@@vonzips they're not as reliable as you hear. They're plagued with transmission problems.
Both my 95 and 88 are both down right now.
Your silencer mount bolt is loose too
Rode/raced xr600r From 89-2001. I instinctively check the bolts in the sprocket. Knew they were loose.
Still miss everything but the extra 100lbs.
Most bulletproof off-road motor of all time IMHO.
Greasable swing arm, no radiators, loves to be raced standing or seated.
No magic button. I admit that I miss the button when I ride one these days.
Where does one find parts for these year bikes
It's not easy. I waited months for transmission parts.
Good video but can’t hear you, invest in a cheap mic 🎙 can hear the camera operator fine.
Yea,
volume all the way up on iPad,put in headphones, still barely hear ya.
Hi friend...Nice Job, nice bike, i have question ....the engine have any modifications? With these modifications, how much is the bike weighing? thanks

So no suspension mods????
It doesn't need them
You need to be careful giving the comments section what they ask for. If you keep on backsliding you’ll be doing tire reviews before the start of the next riding season.
I'm not doing it for them. I'm doing it for the views$$$
@@fastguysslowbikes part of what I enjoy about your channel is your brutal honesty
Ur a lb to heavy lmfao 😂😂👊 nice 1.
I've seriously seen a 250lb guy say that they're too heavy.
@@fastguysslowbikes lol dam. Alrighty then. Thats odd tho.
Love it but no way you can get a holeshot on those 2 strokes
Obviously you haven't seen the rest of my channel with all the holeshot videos.
any suspension changes ?
Not a thing
Its a Dzuz fastener. 2 years late, I know lol
What about the suspension?
Stock
I must have one again
I have the same 95 xr 600, only thing I'd add on is steering dampening, and that's about it
But running super trapp exhaust, and factory efx seat cover, looking to put a new header on but good luck on that
Mine is the most stable bike I've ever ridden. I can't imagine needing a stabilizer.
The bike is stable this is true, but it would be nice to have especially out west in Utah on really rocky terrain, not a necessity but would be nice when going fast over rough terrain or silty sand and washout areas, but not enough to justify dropping 600 plus on lol step dad has a xr650 r with the dampener and makes hitting that terrain a little bit nicer
Other than that everything is stock on the bike
And if the track was sloppy wet.. the best you can hope for was second
Whats carburetor its Is ?
