XR600R is in a class all on its own. I rode my 1985 XR600R 3 hours on highway, raced a 2 hour long harescramble in B class, got 7th out of 20 riders, and then rode the bike home. That was in 2017. Im even faster this year. Got the bike WAY more modded and dialed in. Got a gopro too. Cant wait for its first race of the seaso, which will be next moth

@@BrandonBigB956 D16 mostly. I only got to do 1 race this year :( Decided to build a house and had a lot of rain. I hate racing the XR in mud because I tip over a lot. And whenever it was dry there were no races within any reasonable distance from me that i had time to go to. And the race I did, i tried it on shinko 244 dualsport tires, which sucked ass in the mud. Other than the mud I was running a good pace. Mid pack.
Hail to the King! I'm lucky enough to own many different bikes at once, from 2T MX bikes to current 4T and everything in between. At the end of a workday or a weekend the bike I swing my leg over the most is my 90 XR600R (flatslide carb, race pipe, tickled donk, rear disc conversion) being 6' 6" and 275 pounds no modern bike comes close. Its like coming home. If you're weak or a lightweight you'd hate it! It's a cranky beast on cold mornings, if you get the starting procedure wrong it will not start and the kickback is godawful (broken ankle to prove it!) But the reward is soooo worth it. Does everything a bike should. No fiddling about with valves and services every 10 hours, seat that doesn't disappear up your butt crack, just take it out on a trail and just smash everything and it just takes it again and again. Yeah its heavy and big and the high speed head shake is scary but hey! You dont ride dirtbikes to be safe! Long live the mighty XR! Congrats on the mad skills brother, more vids please!
I have a 1984 Xr 500r and love it .years ago someone stole it . A friend of mine was crossing a river and saw my front fender sticking out from the water ,it was under water for 8 months we pulled it out drained all the fluids and replaced them and it started right up😃
I miss my XR600R..it was a 1994 and a beast.. Sold it last summer to a young guy that was absolutely in love with it. By the way, I made mine street legal (where I live) and rode it out my garage, on local roads, highways, and then single track..Super versatile and simple to work on. I put 300 miles on it in a day no problems and just as comfortable as a DRZ, DR, KTM, or my current BETA..
You realize that you can never get rid of that bike, right? I’ve never seen anyone as comfortable and in sync with their machine as you and your Honda, amazing.
God the XR is legendary. It may not be the 4 strokes of today but they are still an awesome and versatile bike. My first one was an 84 xr350. Now I own a 94 650l and an 08 YZ450F. And as much as I love the yz, there’s still something about hoppin on Bertha and shredding the trails!
VERY impressive riding for being on a hefty 320lb+ beast! I previously only considered a 600cc 4-stroke as good for dual sport usage until you proved me wrong! I'll stick with lighter 2 strokes for woods, but this gives me greater hopes of the capabilities of my 240lb '77 Suzuki PE250 vintage resto-mod project... vs 210lb KDX's +& KTM's which I'm accustomed to. Thx for sharing!
You handle that thing well man! Cant wait to get mine back from the shop. Fresh top end on my 93 XR600R. Favorite bike I have ever owned. Street legal in California:)

You are AWESOME on that thing!!! I like your number plate and rear fender too. I had a 97 xr600 and did the same thing too. A cr500 rear fender could be made to look okay. I later bought a mx style fender from Maier plastics that was made specifically for the xr. You need to trim a few inches off the bottom of the front fender so the air can cool the engine better. I know it doesn't look as cool but it makes a big difference. I also installed cr500 upside down forks and had my shock modified back in 1998 before it became common. That bike was so amazing. People would laugh or scoff when I lined up next to them at the races. They would then crap when I blew their doors off. Good times! Well done sir, thanks for this wonderful video.!

I think the XR400 would be the most usable dirt bike, the XR250 was certainly the world beater in enduro racing back in the day.
Stoked to see another xr rider/racer still ripping, i use my 1990 xr600 (630) for vmx and trail and i will never sell it. Thinking about posting videos of mine too. Would love to see some more of your gopro footage!!
Really impressive skills dude but is it really the most versatile? I would imagine a 350 or 450 with everything you did would feel and look better. Still cool either way. Subscribed.
Haha yeah your probably right I guess I was surprised that I could do so much more on it than I thought I’d be able to. Thanks for the sub, ya got one from me too🤘
Had the 1988 back in the day. Last of the rear drum break model. One day after a few beers i rode it along a beach here in New Zealand until a dirty rougue wave washed up in front of me while doing 50kph. Over the handle bars i went, a shoe got washed out to see and i had to push the cunt back 2 kms along soft sand to my truck. I miss that dam bike.

One thing I am thinking of right of the bat is changing up the suspension is yours stock?
Thanks a lot man! Yea I'd be pumped to get some more people to see my stuff but oh well haha. My XR is actually 95 also. When I got mine we just changed out all the fluids and seals and put Springs for my weight in it (205 lbs). I actually did a whole lot on the stock stuff though. When I was riding the big jumps on the motocross track it actually still had the stock set up so you can ride it that way for sure. The only thing I've done to it other than that is the slip on DG pipe, new tires, and some cosmetic stuff.
Awesome riding. I have a 95 myself and I love it. The best upgrades I have done is a flat slide carb with pumper and usd forks. The forks make it feel 30 lbs lighter. And they soak up washes in the desert way better than stockers.
Great f****** video man this thing was hilarious. you were sending it on the motocross track I couldn't tell if you were serious or just having fun great f****** video. Lol

And they soak up washes in the desert way better than stockers.
tinkrer awesome 🤘 I've actually been thinking about trying a different carb on mine also, and I bet it's an awesome bike with upgraded forks too.
Great skills, style and taste (great El Camino and I have reasons to believe you like food and drinks...)
Vincenzo Di Pisa haha thanks, yea I don't think I've ever been in shape in my life haha
Thanks for the video bro.
I ride and XR also.
But not near as good as you I better practice up

Joe Taylor haha thanks man, always all about the fun haha 🤘
Love your work!
Kens Moto Life thank you!
What suspension work have you done? Never forget what Scott Summers done on the XR 600s
Uncle Quack all I did was put in springs for my weight, if I could do it over I would actually go a little bit stiffer though
Looked like it was working pretty well for you.
It’s the rider as much as the bike
XR 600s are fantastic bikes.(the 650 too) Just don't make the mistake of thinking they're motocross bikes.
They aren't.
