Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed is a series of television shows produced by Nash Entertainment in which the closely guarded secrets behind classic magic tricks and illusions are exposed by the Masked Magician, aided by his beautiful assistants.
The enormously popular TV specials and series featured the incognito magician performing large-scale illusions and a few smaller-scale close-up magic tricks... then revealing the secrets of how the tricks were done.
When you see one of his assistants elaborately dressed, it's almost certain that the outfit has something to do with the trick.

Something doesn't seem possible. The earliest the girl can start removing her dress is 1:33 (the second the curtain is lowered). The steps are pulled away at 1:38 (which the girl has to be under). That only gives her 5 seconds to grap and connect the hooks to her dress, unsnap and get out of the dress, climb off the floor and get completely under the steps before they're moved. That's the magic if it happens in 5 seconds.
I agree. I believe this trick is a con. At 1:52 you can see the magicians legs under the table, yet the stairs have already rolled away. And so you're telling us that mirror dropped and went back up without anyone noticing? Horseshit. It would make more sense to have that mirror already down in the first place.

Yup, the editing here is dishonest, and removes all of the mechanics of the trick. This was originally shown on TV BTW, so viewers couldn't go back to check what they saw.

Things I've learned from Magic Secrets Revealed:
1. If an assistant is wearing an elaborate costume, it's part of the trick.
2. If the magician goes out of their way to show you the object used in a trick, said object is rigged.
There's a thing in story telling called PLANT AND PAYOFF. The earlier the plant, the more successful it will be when paid off.
Suppose you have a story where the payoff is a girl doing a contortion trick to get out of a tight situation? Well the audience will find that story to be contrived unless you plant in the first minutes of a say TV episode her casually speaking about her days in Cirque Du Soliel. The plant is she once pulled a muscle as a contortionist and had to leave the circus. This way it doesn't seem as contrived.
This comment goes to your 1st observation. If something strange is 'planted' at the top of a trick there's an intentional 'payoff' for the magician later. "Wow, the girl sure is shorter than the rest." Ahem.
THEY ARE BEING DECEPTIVE. From the time the shade is pulled down at 1:34, only 4 seconds go by until the stairs are rolled away. There is no way she hooked up 4 cables, climbed out, and into those stairs in only 4 seconds.
Edit: There is no jump cut either between 1:34 and 1:38.

When you rewatch it. You can see they faked it for TV. The rear assistant moves the stairs way too early and they never use the bottom mirror.
1:36 the girl wheels the stairs away mere seconds after lowering the shades - there’s no way the disappearing lady could’ve attached the hooks, freed herself, and hid in those few moments.

If you go back and watch the performance u can see that the assistant moves the stairs within seconds not close to enough time needed for the explanation they provided🤔
There is definitely some editing tricks here as well. Along with the mirror that is flipped down and up.
This program is to explain the tricks, its not necessary to do the tricks. Just edit the video out to cut the cost of making the program.
The production of the videos uses some tricks of their own. In the showing of the "illusion" in real time, when the curtain is dropped, to the time the steps are moved, is 6 to 10 seconds. The girl is supposed to be hiding behind the steps and it was impossible for her to get there in 10 seconds. In the reveal, it takes the girl from 55 to 60 seconds to clip on the 4 wires, undo the back of the dress and go out the back to the steps. The Producer is just as tricky as the "Magician".

There's clearly camera work here. When they lower the shades all the way, you never see the platform drop through the cracks, you can also see an arm of someone inside of the frame at 2:11, after the shades are down. She's still there...

"A stagehand activates an electronic switch" at 5:34. I find it interesting that that could have been done in the late 1800s when this illusion was first performed. Apparently the knowledge of electricity was that advanced back then.

Here's a way to add a bit of comedy to the trick, at the end, when the magician's assistant reappears behind the boxes, the magician pretends he didn't know she was there and instead points to another set of boxes on the other side of the stage, he asks the assistant "What are you doing over there? You're supposed to be over here", the assistant picks up the parasol and says "I forgot my parasol"
