Of course there is the voyeur aspect. This is a gem. How is it I am just seeing this recommended when I search once a moth at least for anything "new" Thanks for posting.
What a great story! For people calling this guy a casualty, he is a survivor! Duh! Great to here from someone who knew and remembers him so well. An honest real story from the 1960s! Interestering use of the Incredible String Band. Was not expecting that!
A friend of mine, who was a professor at a university in the 1970's, abused drugs for 4 decades. He's clean now, but he talks like this guy, except much slower and slurred. It's sad to see what drugs do to the human brain.😔
Guess what folks... that's Morrison IN THE VIDEO WITH THE CAMERA FILMING MARY WERBELOW! He's being shot by another cameraman...Ferrara maybe. Am I the only one who gets the ending? His break-up with Werbelow is the plot. He's distraught...sits down and starts to fondle his lens... metaphor for every male's real first love.
Look at the guy its the same dude from the film! Of course its credible. Funny how Jim picked a lead actor that resembled him somewhat. I think he captured how this man feels about this woman very well. And it was a true story. I wish he had lived to make more films. His music, as bautiful and wonderful as it was, I think was more of a hobby and a happy (or not) accident. He had a career as a poet and filmmaker ahead of him had he lived. Narcotics suck. Everything was beautiful and then then narcotics came.
So how are other people reading this? What did you think? It seems like his "first love" was creativity, storytelling, making the film. The camera and lens are stroked erotically like a phallus. The palms are a fertility symbol. This wasn't what I was expecting, but in retrospect it's very clever. The twist is that the "first love" in the title isn't the girl, it's filmmaking. The girl, the boy, the other stuff is just sexual attraction, eroticism, interest, but not "love."
Jim is one of my idol but god, that guy cant shoot a proper angle , we was better as a poet. Anyway the film feel like the guy stalker , thats fucktop i got to say

U who stare into the sun mock me......awesome passage
who is this guy?
The script was by Jim Morrison, right?
Yes, the movie and script
I don’t understand any of it…is there a message?
Yes. Don't fall in love.
Wow
Alright.
So how are other people reading this? What did you think?

indeed
love is just a chemical, we must choose to give it meaning
Thanks for spelling it out.
Max Schwartz?
How do we even know this is credible??!
We don't. Just have to believe. Or not.
It seems pretty damn real to me. Nobody could fake this story this well.
