  • I'm replacing the half shaft and hub on the right front wheel of my 2007 Range Rover supercharged. In this video I show you the process of doing the work yourself, plus maybe a helpful hint to make your process go smoother.

    My axle broke this weekend... I'm gonna try to tackle both front axles ... your vid was helpful especially the part about prepping the axle splines with a dremel... I wrestled for 2 days with the last land rover axle I changed...lol wish I knew that trick before sending it to a shop....lol... thanks

    can you remove halfshaft to run rear wheel drive only?

    • @CentTxLiving
      @CentTxLiving  2 года назад

      I have never tried that, but I have heard that the transfer case won't allow that to happen; meaning both shafts must be attached. I don't know this from first hand experience though, I've just never tried it. 🤷‍♂️

    Mr. Rollins, what is the cable that is connected to the back of the hub?

    • @CentTxLiving
      @CentTxLiving  2 года назад +1

      Mrs. Poynter 😁, The actual cable is the emergency brake cable, the other connector will be for the wheel speed sensor that provides info the the abs, hdc, tc, and so on.

      @@CentTxLiving Thank you sir! Now to be able to actually locate just the cable. :)

      You're probably better off with a salvage yard. It should be fairly straightforward to replace.

    I have a 2008 Range Rover supercharged and I am having an issue with the tire pressure senor module! Have you had this issue with your truck at all?

    • @CentTxLiving
      @CentTxLiving  3 года назад +1

      Yes, I had the sensors replaced and the control unit recalibrated for the new sensors. A week later it faulted again, so I just let it go for now. Apparently, the proper remedy is a new light control module, and I have read that the system will reset automatically.

      I have also a 2008 HSE .Same problem with her. it will go a week without dash light then it just came on. but generally the light is accompanied by" check tyre pressure" statement.I just ignore the light and am glad it stopped the statement. hope this helps

      Yeah, mine is back at it with the same issue as yours Mark. I suppose it's time for a new tmps ecu. I hear they are easy to replace though.

    Are you replace maybe a seal on that CV axle.?

    • @CentTxLiving
      @CentTxLiving  2 года назад +1

      I replace the half shaft because the boot tour, not anything to do with the seal. Was that your question?

    • @bobamst331
      @bobamst331 2 года назад +1

      Yes, because I need to. I buy the seal and now I don't know if it's Fitts and how its about the job like easy or not...😑

    • @CentTxLiving
      @CentTxLiving  2 года назад

      If you're just replacing the seal, then you're just removing the half shaft from the differential. That particular process is fairly simple because the seal is on the differential itself. I found the hard part to be with removing the actual half shaft.
