- I found my way back home and here it finally is, the Suzuki GSX R1000R 2019 review you've all been waiting for.
What an absolute beauty she is, the Suzuki GSX-R1000R is the cream of the Gixxer 1000 crop with a stonking 202bhp and 117 Nm of torque. The new VVT engine delivers incredible power all through the rev range, and the unmistakable GSXR howl is there for all to hear.
I loved this bike, and a huge shout out to Haslemere Motorcycles for allowing me to take out one of the bikes for the test ride - www.haslemeremotorcycles.co.uk

HAHA brilliant Bruce and you were changing before the real power comes in!!! The thing is a weapon love mine, and the tank only costs £800 quid new!
Literally just seen the vid! 🤢 even my stomach turned when the dent was shown
Drop in the ocean to a RUclips celeb Mr Chops! I imagine your richer than BVG 😉
🤣
Only costs £800. 🤣
Its reviews like this that made me buy this model, fun factor and value for money.
Great vid Bruce! I totally agree with you. Specs and numbers are great to look at on the loo but what matters to me is how the bike makes me feel on the road. Always look forward to your next vid. Keep the shiny side up brother.
Peace!
Great review... totally agree with your sentiments having owned three new givers over the years, now ride a triumph rocket 3 roadster and loving it
Bought the 2019 model this week, looking forward to your review here and more so riding it next Friday will keep you posted mate
i LOVE these bikes i would have a gsxr but due to many get offs over 36 years of being a biker i could not get on them and yes i have tried, another good video mate keep them coming
Loved the walk around edit and tune
Oh my goodness that howl! I thought I’d left litre sports bikes in the past when l bought my Harley but that so reminded me of opening the taps and being thrown forwards into space.
Thanks for the brief overview of the South East. Haphazard is good! Sounds good too.
Legend haha local to me aswell! so I know those roads well. Much fun to be had. Although lots of police recently near loomies 7 officers in fact. Pulling over for every reason possible. You seem one of the decent ones 🤘🤘
Great, accurate and personal ride. Lots of useful fun!
Your excitement earned a subscribe!
Great stuff, thank you and welcome to the channel 👍
I was chuckling to myself seeing how your riding style has changed, especially hunting out the GLFs......double mirror checks and downshift as you cross the line. I expect the boys at the school will be watching it and giving you feedback in July 🤣🤣🤣🏍🏍🏍🚓
Top video bruce ,keep up the good work 👍ace bikes for the track ,not so comfy on the road 😉
All the things you apologized for are what made this video great(well, those and your wonderful accent'). I have about 0 interest in sport-bikes but your energy was so infectious I watched the entire review. I love fast riding also ;)
Thank you 😉👍
Brilliant again mate,my old back wouldn’t last 10 miles on a gsx I’ll stick with my tractor to 👍
Love it, so happy to see you are following your IAM training to the letter!!
Some say 'the system' works at any speed...................
The system is the safest way to ride for sure, but not always the quickest
@@teapotone Now that is a debate....probably ending with a divided opinion and finishing with the words 'it depends'!
Harry Potter 8: Hagrid rides a litre bike.
Nice review Bruce would like to have a go on one if my hips would let me. But will stick with the v strom for comfort. ATB for the rest of your course. "Ride It with your hips baby" 😁😁🏍️🏍️
Thanks bud 👍
I ride a 1000 every day and feel the same way every time I get on it. LOL 2014 Ninja 1000 and just got a 2019 ZX10R. Amazing what manufacturers have done with the new bikes. I like the slower response of the ZX10R at lower RPM for cornering.
I love my 2019 GSXR 1000R and Lamb Chops is right take it to 14,000 in each gear then you know you are motoring - I wouldn't swap it for anything absolutely love it a real quality bike and like you Bruce I tour on mine (not as far as you have been) managed 3000 miles mid lockdown.
That’s the exact color I have. But mine is a 2017. It’s a fantastic bike. Best one I’ve ever had. Love the GSXR platform.
Made me smile. Nice one teapot
+Nick Shutler cheers 👍
Castle Combe track day a few weeks back. Maybe pinned the throttle 6 times at most.
132 mph through follies and straight. RHS of my brand new Rosso 3's are stuffed. Killer bike.
Lack of self control with speed is exacly why I sold my beloved GSXR! It's so hard to keep to the speed limit with one of this! Well one court case later (I managed to safe my licence) I knew I had to say goodbye. Now I'm a happy Moto Guzzi Audace 1400 owner and I love it! There's enough tourqe and acceleration in the Big Twin to keep my chuckling like a little boy but the fun stops at 130 and in all fairness it's the pull from 20-80 that is where the fun is for me now. Would I liked to keep my GSXR ovuisly would I had lost my licence on it definitely.. Grate vidoe keep up the good work Mr T
I’m the same as you Bruce, the figures are nice to know but it’s how it make you feel that’s most important!
Absolutely Dave 👍
great review, so much fun you kept getting lost
can i ask what mount you were using for the hero session on the mirror please
keep it up buddy
It’s one of GoPro’s own mounts, but the likes of Ultimate AddOns do the same thing too
GOD Bless the internal combustion engine. “Go to jail speed”......that cracked me up. Cheers from America. 👍🏼 👏👏👏
And just like a GS, it'll never be used off road! 🙊😁. The fun aspect really shone through on that vlog. 👍👍👍
I now always wait for a GS rider to nod first because I got fet up of no response. I'm still waiting! 😂
Fuck the GS riders most of them are not bikers!
My last bike was a 2002 GSXR1000K2. I sold it 12 years ago. I had lots of bikes over the years and this was my favourite. More than enough power and handling for my abilities. I miss it, but I don't think I would be here today if I kept it. I was taking too many chances. That was the end of my 25 years of riding. The roads are just too dangerous for bikes. I had my fair share of accidents, one almost fatal. I just get my hit watching RUclips videos these days!
Yes teapot what a great vid. I traded my s1000rr for a tuono. Big mistake Couldn’t get on with it at all. Now got an2014 gixxer.1000. Not as good as beemer in terms of pub talk but better bike. More grunt ,better downshifts, bigger. Cheaper Just all round betterI LOVE IT. Keep em comin bru
Good review Bruce. I love the GSXR 750 all 3 that I have owned over the years.
Aye the 750 is a cracking bike isn’t it, just a smidgen too small for me though physically 👍
@@teapotone from memory you are 6'2" and porky is that correct? so the 1k is roomier than the 750? Obviously it would be wider but more legroom? I am 6'2"also
Aye I’m 6’3” and 20 stone
The GSX-R1000 is a bit bigger physically than the 600/750 - was never an issue for me personally but I support it’s what you’re used to isn’t it
Amazing Video. Thx Sir!
Had four gixxer 1000s now on superduke gt via s1000xr, still have the urge to ride a full on sports bike but really only place for it is a track day but its an itch I need to scratch 😀
Super Duke will keep up with everything unless ridden by a pro
Funny review and great bike. Subbed.
Thanks very much bud, welcome to the channel 👍
I am still in love with my 2004 GSXR 750.
Nice mines 2002
Hi Bruce.
Could you let me know the name of the GoPro session mirror mount please.
👍 Great review
Teapotone - " I think this is the road I came down with the IAM" proceeds to Pin throttle - brilliant ! Obviously an 'IAM bibs off' day or your IAM membership has been revoked / temporarily suspended .
Great vid but the worry is these bikes just make you want to go faster and faster and faster......and as you say willpower is finite !
Love it!!
Great video mate! New sub
Cheers Tom, welcome to the channel bud 👍
Everybody should have one at the back of the garage for nice sunny days. 🌞🌞🌞
+Steve Inskip 👍
Brings all memories back, Bruce? BTW, haw is Beast doing? Give him any attention?
Normally love your videos but this one was too scary 😱 Ride safe Bruce 🙏
I looked and thought LCR is riding the 19 Gixxer here we go. Wait that's TP1
WTF 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Good review 👍
I was born on a Gixxer originally, this is me just going back to my roots 🤣👍
@@teapotone lmao it's better than a bloody GS 🤣
so the whole RTW tripp was actualy just you going down to the local Tesco and taking a wrong turn somwhere :-P
I love how your constantly talking yourself out of having one lol.
I like those riding gloves, witch one's are they?
They’re the Knox Handroid’s
lovely bike
I was about to say the same and see Lamb Chops already commented. I have this bike, keep it pinned past 10k it's a whole new level of power compared to what you're feeling there
Yep I know, there are certain things I just don’t show in these vids.
This bike at full chat is one of them. 😉😬🤗
how does it feel with that adventure helmet on .....hahaha great vid mate
Bet that would be an absolute weapon round the picos pal.. Gotta be in blue though 👍🏍
I’ve ridden my GSX-R1000 around the mountains of Spain and can tell you the GS is faster in the tight twisties. We overtake plenty of Sportsbikes every year to prove that.😉
Nice review! Love this bike!
BTW What camera on your mirror?
That's a GoPro Hero Session.
Yep it’s the Session 5, but I don’t think GoPro do them anymore?
@@teapotone indeed they don't. I'm clinging on to one of them too.
Bruce...it was the same road 👍👍
Thought so, cheers bud 👍
Hey Bruce....looks like this bike has the same problem as your GS time to time....speedo goes fuzzy....warranty issue me thinks 🇮🇪😂
Looked like you enjoyed that! I was thinking does this make Bruce a 'Born again Biker? Then you had to spoil it at the end... :- ( Get Suzuki to lend you one for your Pico's trip in September....they seem to be doing long term loans to...well, just about everybody... just sayin like......'Back in before the 'solids'..??? Doesn't usually seem to bother you in the Pico's :-) Hope you are having a great trip.... I'm off out there next Sunday....Santander ferry permitting.
Nice review. But when is the new GSXR 1000 coming out?!
Thanks Samby, no idea bud, I think Suzuki are in a bad way again at the mo 😬🤷♂️
Looks like an awesome bike, but you need to get that pixellated dash display fixed... Must be terribly worrying not being able to see your speed... :)
+Martin Chandler it was, it was! I kept having to twist the throttle a bit more to make sure the engine was still on!!! 😉👍
@@teapotone Wise.....don't want the bike falling over. Safety third.
Ser Davos is that you? Sub btw.
Bruce enjoy your time abroad but be careful they send a arrest warrant for you putting videos out like that 😅😂🤣😭😂 Well done😜😜
I sold my Honda CBR900RRx for the same reason.
I was becoming a bit of a hooligan and I need my licence to get to work.
buy a sportster then!
Top!!✊
Haha,,,How did you get round the world!!? Ride safe fella.
I just kept heading East! 😉👍
Thank you for posting. Amazing how a person's ridding "philosophy" is so much based on the bike they are ridding. :)
You kept saying you were in the wrong place. But how can you be in the wrong place when your riding that beauty?
Very good point 👍👏
lordy you passed that lorry with hardly a twist of the throttle,
U dont need to hold down the clutch to start it i think 🤔
From what I remember, you do with GSX-R’s - but anyway, it’s always best to hold the clutch in when you start a bike - better for the engine, plus eliminates any chance of it shooting forward if in gear
Spicy 110’s local 😂👍🏻
what kind of gloves are those?
Knox Handroids
Love the laughing 😂😂
I couldn’t help it, made me feel like a giggling school girl!! 🤣😂
I don't understand how you can ride at the speeds you do with the dual sport helmet, it pulls my head back and strains my neck to go over 60mph with one!
Really? I’ve never had any issue to be honest 🤷♂️👍
The throttle twisting thing is optional you know, not obligatory 😂
I nod away on my gs. You know it’s got to be done 😜
I have the same problem with sports bikes, it's ball's to the wall all the time! Was regularly hitting over 130mph in a 30 zone coming into Fort William. It was time to give that up!
😬👍
But we have a country where we really can enjoy these things....Scotland!(I watch these videos from 'Down South' and realise why I've never wanted to live there, terrible roads).
Just getting a little tingle from watching - goodness knows how I'd feel on it.. well that's not entirely true - I had a '15 S1000RR. I had to sell. Whereas I can rag other bikes, look down at the speedo and think, oh that's quick; on the S1000RR I was thinking, I'm going to prison... I absolutely love the performance, handling and looks, but the 1000cc sportsbike class is now closed for me.
It is so ridiculously easy to go stupid speeds now isn’t it, but SO much fun!! 🤣
Great vid. But what the hell are you wearing?😂😂
Jumpers are standard safety wear in the UK. 🤣
Can see your riding becoming more IAM and "system". 😀. Still a small dash of hooligan, we all have that right? 😂
Just a smidgen of hooligan 😉
Wish you didn't blur our the speed so we could all see how quick the bike accelerates.
Job losingly fast acceleration!
What brand helmet you wearing? Looks like a shoei hornet. Like the look of your helmet along with the peak it has 👍
Yep it’s a Shoei Hornet ADV
Good morning.
Man goes giddy over old fashioned hooligan style GSXR... what's not like real life!
1:54 what on earth is happening with that car's boot?
Would be great to have that much acceleration without the massive top speed that can't be used on a legal daily basis. At normal speeds that would keep your licence safe I guess the engine would be so under used that it could do more harm than good?
Buy a GS if you want that 😉
1330in r u saying u turned into an excited kids with a new toy hehehehehe just jealous hehehehe 👍👍👍👍
Teapot what on Earth is that Jacket your wearing? I want one! Cheers..
It’s the Icon Raiden, available from PistonOids - tell them I sent you😉👍
See people say sport bikes are bad because they encourage fast riding, but naked bikes are just as bad for hooligan antics. Shit loads of torque makes them wheelie machines, and they’re comfortable! I’m definitely a sport guy myself
Seems you have to control the urge to do anything naughty on just about any machine 😂
Absolutely true Sam, almost any bike over the last 10 years is more than capable of stupid speeds with general ease.
We just have to exercise self-control - easier said than done though eh 😉🤣👍
👍👍👍.
not too sure about your comment when you pulled away from the bike shop...…….."let`s HIT the road"...….……….
You never know.... 😉
The way you talk reminds me of the hobbits haha
That 1st girlfriend comparison 😅
Sounds like more of a Motorbike Sex Tape j/k😁Be careful, that’s a “proper “ weapon there! Great video Bruce.👍
Ive watched loads of revews on sportsbikes over the past few years and im still not sold wiith the silly BHP they are putting in bikes today. i mean a RR bike thats 202BHP and also limited and restricted. i mean i cant see the actual point of it and the £16,500 price tag. It would be like buying a 500BHP Ferrari thats limited and resticted to 170mph.. i currently ride a 1998 blackbird and givin the fact its 21yrs old, 157Bhp at 180+mph its hardly a slow bike and keeps up with modern bikes easy, the Hayabusa in 1999 was 178BHP at 204MPH. so im still not convinced wth theses high BHP limted restricted bikes? im sure a 1999 R1, GSXR, CBR would still outride the modern GSXR???
Massive improvements in handling, suspension, brakes, traction control, ABS lean sensitive etc. The Blackbird doesn't have any of this. It's a very capable bike but old school and heavy.
And We blur speedometer over 75 mph.. lol. otherwise "Cool" Video m8!
Kph
You're not using the auto blip.... its pissing me off! lol
whats auto blip?
sorry I ride a tractor.
It’s the auto downshift. I was using it, just not all the time
🤣👍 thats why we all ride bikes, love Bruce's giggling. Kiech is Scottish for shit by the way
+Graham Stewart 👍
you need to hit that power band then you poop yourself haha.
Its a 2017 spec bike
Why is it big man when I go out on the tuono people hang off their bikes to wave.we went out sat on the gsa all day got 4 nods.misserable bast..ds.so I just turned around and overtook the lot yeeehaaa.
Ha Ha, yep bike snobbery is alive and well 👍
You so funny 🤣
I like to tickle my Gixxer.
Not often enough though.
