I've got one of these and it's the best car I've ever had. Great all rounder that ticks all the boxes for me. Mine is tuned and has uprated intercooler, dpf and back box delete with duel exit tailpipes which I think they should've came with as standard like the e90 did. The handling really let's them down though, feels very wallowy as standard but I've sorted that with thicker H&R anti roll bars and eibach lowering springs and now it handles so well but is still very comfortable. Around 400bhp, 780nm torque and 50mpg, you can't grumble at that!
Calv got my f30 66 plate 335d remapped to 400 bhp and 880nm of torque, ZF gear box mapped to stage 3, stupidly fast and it sticks to the ground having some PS4's for tyres the xdrive just works, absolutely love it man and been leaving m3's and m4's off the lights in my rear view, proper weapon doing in 4.1 seconds 0-60
I have the M440d and that is really impressive. Stock will do 4.6sec 0-60 and claimed to get 50mpg. Absolute beast of a car. BMW don’t get enough credit for how well their diesel cars perform. And the sport button sharpens everything up, Jekyll and Hyde button.
Calvin, I've had an M140 for over a year. The BMW salesman told me it had a heated steering wheel. I never found the button for the damn thing and just assumed it didn't have one.... Until now! What a mad place to put the button!!!
I’ve got a touring with the m performance kit which answers the understated look your mention. it really ticks all the box’s for performance and economy. The suspension could do with a upgrade as it’s a little soft in touring spec. I’m told with a decent remap they will give a m3 a run for it’s money.

I used to have a 300d Coupé on a 2010 plate. Only the two wheel drive version with 245bhp but I loved that car. Comfortable. Fast. Frugal. At 50 mph the engine was barely ticking over.
I’ve had one as a daily for about 7 months now and I’ve covered 12k miles. It’s an estate though, literally puts a smile on my face every single time I drive it. Anyone contemplating getting one just absolutely should do it.
@@JoshXCVIII I've had one for nearly 5 years, the 330D xdrive though, and drive 4.5 miles to work each day. This 3.0 diesel engine is amazing, an absolute rocket in sport / sport + mode, but in eco pro mode on a long run I get between 46 and 54 mpg ( BP Ultimate or Shell V Power ) . Touchwood never had any issues, just service related items and am soon to replace with newer model 330D or 335D as whatever else I think about buying to replace it just doesn't compare.
Amazing car. I bought a 335d touring new in 2016 and was blown away by it - There was not much it could not do. Unfortunately, an expanding family meant it became too small and I sold it at 3 years old, with 24,000 miles, for just over £19,000. You'd struggle to get a 2016 car for that money, now. Big mistake - I blame my wife
Not from what i've seen, especially with a high spec and less than 100k on the clock. Mine was a high spec, in mint condition, and had 2 years left on a free servicing pack. Even then it took me over 2 months to sell it. The second-hand market is a completely different world now!
So glad you got one of these on your channel Calvin I’ve got one and it goes very well, just mapped with downpipe, intercooler and fuel pump upgrade and it does The 20-70mph in 3.21 Brilliant all rounder cars ☺️👍🏼
Got a blacked out 335d xdrive with the red leather myself, egr/dpf/swirl flaps all gone/mapped out running 380/390 rn still to put intercooler on and then will go stage 2 for +400. Still runs clean, cant fault the car at all for the money, will give an m3/m4 a good race and still get 50+ mpg on mway.
435d here, not as much drama as a fast petrol but economical, quick and nice to drive. Not as leary as a hot hatch but as quick and not as fuel hungry. An amazing allrounder.
@@Breadstar90 Long term average of mixed driving is 43.8. Which is mainly a 25 miles commute to work through town (stop/start driving) and then B roads. If I do a run on the motorway and cruise at 'around' the speed limit it averages about 46-48. Best I've had on a 70 mile run was 52 mpg.

Had an F30 330d M Sport from 2016-2019 in mineral grey and was a great all rounder. Fancied a change and got a carbon black E46 M3. Absolutely loved it, but it was showing its age. So literally just 5hrs ago, i changed it for a Snapper Rocks Blue F36 435d Gran Coupe and tbh im not even sure it feels as quick as the F30 330d i had. Though i think the rawness of the E46 M3 is partially the reason for that. Will take a few days to get used to it and see how it does on general roads amongst other vehicles to truly work out how quick it is.
I too had an f30 330d but mapped producing 310hp, the 435d doesnt feel as quick but as L says, the power delivery is way smoother so is probably the reason its not as quick (well doesnt feel it anyways)
Fair comments. Suppose the xDrive changes the dynamics of the drive too. Had a conversation with my friend about it this morning, and his view was that going from a high revving punchy 6 cyl petrol to a low revving torquey 4x4 diesel will obviously feel less "theatrical".
Own a 67 reg one of these, non-shadow edition but M Sport variant, has the M Performance logos on the side skirts. Absolute weapon of a car and the X drive system just gives you the confidence no matter the weather. Recently acquired it and unfortunately mine came with a set of 4 runflats with appalling grip. Previously had a 2017 reg Focus ST2 remapped to 270Bhp but the engine blew on that and was then stuck using a near 20 year old 4x4 for almost a year. Glad to finally be in a proper car.

I had one of these not long after they first came out back in 2013. Apart from sorting the springs out by swapping to ACS springs, the car was brilliant. I loved the buckets of low down torque. Sold it a bought an F80 M3 Competition. Although the M3 was a lot quicker, it had a lot less low down torque than the 335d so needed to be revved a lot more. So it felt slower until you dropped 2 or 3 cogs and revved it up above 3K rpm then it flew. But then it sounded sh!t! 😄 Although the M3 is ultimately a lot quicker, day to day, the 335d is easier to drive quicker more of the time - if that makes sense. Petrol's are more tedious having to keep revving them all the time to make them go.
I've got a 335d as my daily and it does everything fantastic its running just over 400 hp and over 700nm and I've had 3.9 secs 0-60 with the draggy I absolutely love these cars and it shocks many a type r and golf r owners

Great Vid, I have a 2015 3 series GT 335d as my daily, i bought a Max Tune True tune and installed a eco map which still gives +23 bhp, i average 45 - 46 mpg.
Just bought a 2019 335d after a hybrid 4x4 which was crap on long journeys (phev cough cough). This thing is mental I get 42ish around town and not been on a motorway trip yet 😅, and I've drove it like I nicked it at times. DIESEL LIVES.
I had this in sweden for 2 years nad loved it to death, I had an innovation as well. My only gripe was the steering feel (which there was noone). Prefer the E36 / E46 in steering feel all the way.
Great video as usual. Happy to see all the positive comments, as shortly I'm returning to the UK after 9 years abroad, and have been looking at these online for my next car in the Touring version (love an estate), everything I need for my family. 2018/2019 low mileage for around 25-30k, hopefully find one with the m performance body kit ;)
I drove one of these a few years ago it belonged to my cuz it had a 440hp re map it was an absolute monster the torque sent my eyeballs to the back of my skull GREAT CAR
Just don’t know why BMW stuck the 335d and 435d on the X drive SE suspension, look like they’re on stilts. It’s almost like you sacrifice handling for the extra 40-50bhp over the x30d. Each to their own I guess. Do love what Darkside developments have managed to achieve with these cars though!
Nice car Cal 👍 bit of a weapon for sure 💪 but I'm surprised that still has the notoriously troublesome N57 engine for a 2018 car 🤔 I would have thought it'll have the later B57 engine instead.

Mine was doing that , accelerating in 2nd & third when flat out like a miss fire ish or as if the wheels where losing grip for a split 2nd , I checked my tyre pressure and one had dropped in pressure but not enough to set the tpms off , I redid the pressure and it stopped doing it , fingers crossed it we will both be crying lol , yeah a stage one remap is like night and day mate , I’d had a black edition A3 s line before my BMW and it was remapped so when I first had my Bmw it felt flat compared to my A3 , had the remap and it’s totally different, the torque is crazy , just make sure you use a reputable company that won’t put a silly map on and cause issues with your turbos etc 👍
16:32 You forgot to mention that extra in the spec sheet, Calv. Many BM's don't come with these 😆
Fav car 335d saloon is nice but for me the touring is more off a beast 👌👌
I had one of these not long after they first came out back in 2013. Apart from sorting the springs out by swapping to ACS springs, the car was brilliant. I loved the buckets of low down torque.
Sold it a bought an F80 M3 Competition. Although the M3 was a lot quicker, it had a lot less low down torque than the 335d so needed to be revved a lot more. So it felt slower until you dropped 2 or 3 cogs and revved it up above 3K rpm then it flew. But then it sounded sh!t! 😄
Although the M3 is ultimately a lot quicker, day to day, the 335d is easier to drive quicker more of the time - if that makes sense. Petrol's are more tedious having to keep revving them all the time to make them go.
I think you need to return it. They put the steering wheel on the wrong side.
Bro, i wasn’t even subscribed but your videos always showed up in my recommended! Thanks youtube
I've got a 335d as my daily and it does everything fantastic its running just over 400 hp and over 700nm and I've had 3.9 secs 0-60 with the draggy I absolutely love these cars and it shocks many a type r and golf r owners
Straight pipe , stage 2 intercooler and a stage 2 tune .
@@shanuke9594 where from
Definitely my next car. Just can't say goodbye to my alpina d3 yet.
I’ve just put a deposit down on a 66 plate F31 320d xdrive m sport with 120k miles - it’s worn it’s miles well and will be a comfortable car for my commute.
Great Vid, I have a 2015 3 series GT 335d as my daily, i bought a Max Tune True tune and installed a eco map which still gives +23 bhp, i average 45 - 46 mpg.
From one Calvin to another. Take it to Durham Remaps get a stage 2 on it. Get 420bhp+ on it.
I've got a 330d it's an absolute daily weapon, wish they'd set the exhausts apart as it doesn't do it justice
Bmw knows their way about a diesel, love my 535
Iv had my 335 for around 3 months now and it is by far the best car I have ever owned it’s is one fast proper car 😎
Buying one of these soon! Love the Chanel by the way 👍
Owned an estate one for 4 years, will definitely have another
189k subs come on calv 👏👏
All BMW diesel 6 cylinder 30d/35d engines are a must over the rest 👍top car Calv

congratulations 🌟✨🎉🏆
16:35 got a flashing light on the dash there, might want to get it looked at. Never seen one of them on a BMW before 🥺
It’s traction off light
Calvin could get enthusiastic about cars at the scrap yard 😄
My man calv uses the word bloody hell more than my mum, keep up the good work bro ive been a follower from the begining 😀
I love my 340i, wish I had those nice digital dials though
Launch control in these is brutal, do another run!
these cars are really good not slugish but there actually quite bad on fuel especially for a diesel
Just bought a 2019 335d after a hybrid 4x4 which was crap on long journeys (phev cough cough). This thing is mental I get 42ish around town and not been on a motorway trip yet 😅, and I've drove it like I nicked it at times. DIESEL LIVES.
man i want one. Driving a 328d and knowing that there's a crazier one out there doesn't let me sleep at night.
It's surprising that the American Market never got many diesels and estate Bmws
Did you put the ZF into sport too?
I had this in sweden for 2 years nad loved it to death, I had an innovation as well. My only gripe was the steering feel (which there was noone). Prefer the E36 / E46 in steering feel all the way.

G series is now M340d which it deserves, proper quick diesel.
Get the timing chain done, EGR and DPF removed and you’re golden👍🏻
I lkke the analoge look more than the others keep it still og with modern 💯
I think you should keep it Calvin and give it to will to work his magic and then do more dragy times.

I like this but honestly as for all arounder the 5 door 435d gran coupe is the best for all.
audi & bmw really make the best diesel
Great video as usual. Happy to see all the positive comments, as shortly I'm returning to the UK after 9 years abroad, and have been looking at these online for my next car in the Touring version (love an estate), everything I need for my family. 2018/2019 low mileage for around 25-30k, hopefully find one with the m performance body kit ;)
Every car should be fitted with a speed limit display
Man I just bought a 320D 68plate and I’m a bit jealous about this digital cockpit, I’m gonna have to retro fit one on lol
What app do you use to check car details?
These things dominate all when stage 2 tuned and the xhp stage 3 gearbox flash done I’ll be moving to one next year and leaving the e93 msport
I drove one of these a few years ago it belonged to my cuz it had a 440hp re map it was an absolute monster the torque sent my eyeballs to the back of my skull GREAT CAR
Looking to get an e92 335 once I finally find some employment!
Love this car. De-badge it and it’s the ultimate sleeper.
29 degrees, and your sweating, people in Jamaica would be putting on another jumper
That Capri 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.
If I lived in England I’d buy that for my Dad.
What a legend
Soo underrated these are, there absolute weapons rs3 killers for sure
Nice car Cal 👍 bit of a weapon for sure 💪 but I'm surprised that still has the notoriously troublesome N57 engine for a 2018 car 🤔 I would have thought it'll have the later B57 engine instead.
no trouble at all if you service it regularly

My OCD couldn’t cope with the dash image of a F series with twin exit exhausts,
What app do you use for the hpi check
what Hpi check website do you use? love the detail in them. Great Video
i heard this n54 engine has very poor reliability record, have u had any issues ?
Best spec black with red leather, agreed
Did you not shut the door properly since the music kept playing?
Calvin u r 1 lucky guy with drem job always got nice cars to be driving around in then hopefully sell them on for a profit and great content for us car lovers to watch good luck with the channel and future respect from south wales as always
I have a x3 35d 2017 with 36k on it just stage 1 turned it and now it’s 340bhp and 700 nm.
