    I have a XSX, PS4 and Nintendo Switch OLED. I'm currently getting ready to upgrade my PS4 Slim to a PS5 and then I'll be able to play both exclusives from all 3 companies, I've been playing video games since I was a child (I think since I was 7 years old) and the first game I played was the first Super Mario Bros. game on the NES and I still enjoy gaming almost as much as I do now like I did when I was little. Since Microsoft has come out with the Xbox consoles, I've been a fan of them since the first one also and everyone of their consoles has been my main system and I've always liked Sony too. But since I've gotten my Switch OLED it's been my secondary system because of the fact I play my Switch and Series X more than I do my PS4, I don't know if I get the PS5 if that'll change or not because I like Mario games so much and can play them for hours more than I can play any Sony game.

    Personally I still feel the need to own both an Xbox and Playstation hardware. I have owned EVERY gen of both - as well as 'other' platforms PC, Nintendo etc and the reason has ALWAYS been the same - Exclusive Content.
    I wouldn't be 'happy' to pick 'just' a Series X or 'just' a PS5 because they each have several games I want to play - whether its Forza, Gears, Starfield, Redfall or Perfect Dark for example on Xbox or Horizon, God of War, Uncharted, Spider-Man or Gran Turismo on PS - I can't play 'everything' I want on a 'Single' system. In the future, I think I am 'more' likely to buy a PS6 than the 'next' Xbox as I may decide to upgrade my PC and use that for ALL Xbox games but would still need a Playstation for ONLY on PS games.
    What I will say though is that this is the 'first' generation that 1 console has become strictly for games I can't play elsewhere and the 'other' is my MAIN platform. Even during the PS4/XB1 era, I still played a lot of multi-platform games on BOTH systems - sometimes even bought the same game on both systems. However, this gen, Xbox is my main platform - thanks Primarily to Game Pass and the fact that I always have something 'new' to play at no extra cost and the Price increase this gen - NO game is Worth $70 to me - none! Especially as that is the Launch Price when games are often at their 'worst' and/or lowest amount of Content. Wait a few months or so, the game is likely to be more 'playable' and half the price. Wait 'longer' and you may get 'more' content, additional game modes etc for even less money - all the while I have a LOT of new games I can play at no additional costs. I even refuse to buy ANY 3rd Party multi-platform game with 'extra' content on Playstation (like Hogwarts) to 'support' Sony's terrible practice. I'll wait until its 'dirt cheap' on Playstation, preferably 'used' so they get 'nothing' from me or comes to a Sub service I have. It just puts me off playing where I'd prefer to play and not willing to play on Sony as that only supports the Practice.
    As for 'A/B' - it's clearly not 'anti-competitive' - its not taking away a 'Platform' and/or giving MS the majority of Gaming Studio's to control or monopolise gaming. There is still Sony, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Capcom, TenCent, Embracer, Warner Bros, Sega, Valve, TakeTwo etc etc - all 'competing' with MS as Publisher/Game developer. CoD isn't the 'biggest' FPS or even the most Played FPS game every year. It wouldn't stop Sony (or any other Publisher) from making alternatives, maybe even becoming the 'next' big thing. After all, Goldeneye was the Console 'King' of the FPS market, then it was probably Quake before 'Halo' came along. Killzone/Resistance were Sony's 'Halo' Killer, but turned out that CoD 'killed' Halo and has had 'fierce' competition from Titanfall, Battlefield, Battlefront (would have been much 'fiercer' if EA were 'better') and even games like PUBG, Fortnite, Apex etc that pushed A/B to make Warzone. Point is, it just makes Xbox 'more' competitive to Playstation and will go through.
    As such, I hope it really pushes Sony to focus more on its OWN portfolio and Ecosystem to be more consumer friendly so I actually feel like I want to play on my PS5...

      Your comment has so many points I agree with!
      I remember buying an Xbox 360 when I was 18, then Xbox one S in my early 20s. I never had any complaints with both consoles and always liked Xbox. When the hype started happening for ps5, I immediately thought to myself ‘Im getting one’, seeing as I haven’t had a PlayStation since ps2 days. There was always that small part of me that envied my friends who brought the ps4, because of exclusives, hence why I went for ps5. Had one since launch and I’ve been very impressed so far. Playing games like Spider-Man and God of War instantly blew me away!
      I recently brought an Xbox series x for spare room and I got to say I’ve been loving it also! I find Gamepass has a nice range of games , which can be a nice change, especially compared to PlayStations story driven(slow paced in some instances) games, as great as they are!
      I’ve been having a blast playing HiFi Rush and High on Life. Yes they aren’t graphically or visually amazing , but in my opinion they are really fun. I also like playing competitive fps shooters and Xbox series x fps boost has been amazing! Especially battlefield 1(one of my favourite multiplayer games) and stars wars battlefront at 120fps is awesome!
      Both consoles offer two different experiences. Only time will tell what Xbox has in offer, as I’m not going to deny it has been lacking in AAA titles, but I feel some big games are coming!
      On the other hand Sony has some very exciting AAA games coming I.e Spider-Man 2, wolverine etc.
      If I could only have one, it would honestly be a very difficult choice, as there are so many things I like about both consoles.
      It’s definitely a great time to be a gamer, that’s for sure!

    Can’t speak on the PS5 since I’ve never played it, but man going from the Xbox One to Xbox series X was a huge improvement. Yeah I believe Xbox is just better overall than PlayStation. I chose the Xbox Series X as well. I even have a Series S for travel. I chose Xbox for similar reasons. I like Xbox games better like Gears of War, Forza Horizon, Halo Infinite and the list goes on and on not to mention Game Pass. Game Pass completely makes a PS5 irrelevant in my opinion. No way in Hell I’m missing Bethesda games like Starfield, Activison and Blizzard games. Only game on PlayStation I would play is Spider-Man and I can simply just play that on my PC. PS5 is a no go for me. The Xbox controller is the gold standard and the ecosystem is unrivaled. If you’re not a fanboy or follower and simply a gamer. Xbox is better in every way imaginable. IMO.
    Side bar I don’t like Sony as I’ve learned about their dirty tactics and being a cancer to the gaming industry. Most devs hate Sony. Some has spoken out against them. There is no way knowing that that I would support PlayStation. The fact they don’t have any games that interest me and a inferior ecosystem makes it easy to skip the PS5.

      I probably will get a PS5 at some point due to some of the exclusives I'm interested in, unfortunately the Silent Hill 2 remake is probably only launching on the PS5 for a time which is reason enough for me to go out and get it when it launches.

It doesn't really make sense for me to buy two systems. I get why people may choice the Xbox over the PS5 if they want slightly better graphics of the Xbox and don't care about the exclusives. But there is so little difference in the graphics. And back when the PS3 was the superior system with better graphics these people probably were on the Xbox 360. So I don't by the graphics argument. 360 had better online experience and it was cheaper in cost and sold way more. Everyone seemed to have it so to play with your friends you had to get it. But that's not what I am seeing this time around. The PS5 like the PS4 is out selling the Xbox. So if you are getting the system to play with friends you usually pick the one everyone has.

    Very reasonable video. I do think Sony has more exclusives that are more polished that what Microsoft has. That said, I picked up a Series S after being frustrated of not finding the PS5 in stock and was pleasantly surprised that somehow, I like this little machine, with the little space it takes, the price (I really don't want to pay $500 for any games console) and the ability to try a lot of indie games with game pass.
    That said, I do have access to another PS5 in the house and I highly recommend you play Returnal if you like shooters on the Xbox. Returnal is a phenomenal game and I was shocked and surprised by its story, which is not what I was expecting at all. Excellent job on that game.
    One more note: though the PS5 controller is more advances in a few areas over the Xbox controller, I also find myself finding the Xbox (current) controller more comfortable to hold for long periods of time. Agree with you there.

    My man, most games currently run better on the PS5. Even games that Xbox has marketed like Wolong and Atomic Heart rub and look better. In fact the best looking game of all time (Horizon forbidden west) is only on PS5. Also don't forget Rachet and Clank Rift Apart which even Digital foundry said was the best looking next gen game ever. Xbox 1st party studios will still have the Series S holding it back a bit. PS5 has nothing. I will give Xbox points for the controller tho. Its more comfortable. Don't really care about haptic feedback and there's a reason majority of PC gamers choose an Xbox controller. Now as for the services, as good as gamepass is, PS Plus isn't too far behind. Not only do they give much better games in the lowest tier that you can keep forever, but to me the quality of games they have delivered month after month for the extra tier has been better than gamepass since launch. I own both consoles and have monitored for the last 8 months. Only problem us that they don't do day and date like gamepass. Microsoft needs to do better and launch better exclusives into the service and I can say maybe in 2-3 years, it'll leave PS plus in the dust. Also if you like jrpgs, the service is awesome man. So yeah I did enjoy your video and I know you're a bit biased but there's a reason the PS5 has sold more, despite being less powerful on paper.

    • @Mrlostmoniker
      @Mrlostmoniker  Год назад +3

      Not entirely, if you read most of the digital foundry reports the PS5 tends to fail in most parameters resolution wise - there was a slight uptake in FPS on certain games but I haven’t found one where the resolution maintained as high as Xboxes, which to me is most important this generation granted we’re not seeing games dip to some dramatically lower FPS. If you actually read through the detailed digital foundry breakdowns I’ve yet to see any PS5 multi platform game have anything superior overall, only minor FPS maintains more consistent but typically at a lower resolution sort of reports - Atomic Heart you are correct did appear to be poorly optimized for the Series X, but I’m seeing this more as a minority not the majority.
      I don’t see much holding the consoles back, the Series S just gets paired down ports of its older brothers. I used PS Plus on PS4, unsure how’s it’s become now, but back then it was very mediocre to me.
      Keep in mind man I’m not anti PlayStation and this video had nothing to do with PS bashing, I’m fond of what Sony is doing and admittedly will have a PS5 in the very near future for some of the great exclusives, but Microsoft has continued to promote and grow their ecosystem which will continue to make it my main console for the next little while.

      actually to be honest thats not true a select few games run do run better on ps5 but overall they dont, im heavily into tech i built custom pcs and resell them so i have a deeper understand than the average person. ps5 have a few titles that run better but xbox games have way more flexibility such as better VRR (DIGITAL FOUNDRY STATES THIS ALSO) XBOX PLAY GAMES IN DOBLY VISION PS5 CANT. xbox also have fps boost where they went back and up the graphics and fps peformance on alot of games and playstation didnt. also xbox can play way more games at 1440p 120fps for people who like to play on gaming monitors instead of tvs. ps5 just added this feature about 5 months ago because alot of people were pissed that play consoles on gaming monitors and they were complaining alot. alot of people will play intense fast shooters like call of duty or halo on a gaming monitor because it shows what happen alot faster than a tv will giving you an edge on reaction time. xbox also has smart delivery if you dont know what that is look it up. ps5 dont. in simple xbox overall run games better. ps5 have a slight performance edge in about 6 current titles. i have both system and about 3 custom gaming pc in my house so im kinda quailified to speak on this.

    PS5 still has exclusives only available on console, unlike Series X which has no exclusives since every single game on Series X is also on PC or PS5. Series X games usually have a worse framerate than both PS5 and PC. PS5-only owners can play any Xbox game on PC using either Gamepas or Steam. Just don't see the point in owning the Series X and all the inferior versions of games with no exclusive content I miss the days of 360 when it had all the BEST versions of games and some great exclusives 🤔

    • @Mrlostmoniker
      @Mrlostmoniker  Год назад

      I'm about resolution, and the framerate topic is pretty limited, most games with the exception of a select few run on par, with some running slightly under, but the visual fidelity is still typically superior on Xbox.
      You are correct, but most people don't own gaming PCs who are investing in consoles, and I know my old gaming PC won't output the visual my Series X does - to build an equivalent would be far more expensive than just buying one of the modern generation of consoles.
      I do agree that PS5 has some stellar exclusives, but for me the ecosystem Microsoft has built is more appealing.

    I Strongly agree with you on the controller part. I firmly believe controller or any input device for that matter is a big part of a gaming experience.
    I have both PS5 and Series S and both of them are my first consoles as I have always been a PC gamer. So, you can imagine how terrible my aims and movements were for the initial few weeks of playing with controllers.
    Initially, I was too impressed with the dual sense controller thanks to Astro’s Playroom. The haptics are amazing and adaptive triggers are definitely next gen.
    But after spending more time with each of these systems, I prefer the xbox controller simply because I always feel more in control with the in-game action when I play with it. I don’t care if it is extremely similar to last gen or it doesn’t have any “ground breaking next gen features”.
    The xbox controller is ergonomically spot on for my hands. Smaller size, tactile buttons, crunchy clicky D-pad and off-set concave sticks. It gets the basics right!! It’s only after playing for hours and hours I have came to this realisation.
    I love the PS exclusives. But apart from gamepass, controller is the only reason why I keep coming back to my Series S.
