I used to go to every single MCU movie opening night with a group of friends. We were massive fans. The storytelling, the characters, the movie-making craftsmanship. The over-arching narrative that made every movie feel important. The tone and how even fantastical elements were treated

This film will serve Marvel an example why you don't ignore books that brought you your fanbase.

@@waynebrady7163 😂😂 no it won't. When this movie flops people like you will call people who hate it "sexist" . In reality the shows/movies that are surrounding the main characters both flopped so what makes them think that the majority of marvel fans would want to watch this?
This is how extremists like you try to win arguments, you argue points no one thinks or said, you're not even listening to the key point they made, you don't like an opinion other than your own and condemn anyone that doesn't think like you.
Listen or don't. Captain Marvel was originally a story about an alien scientist that was trying to help earth people learn about space travel. He realized his own race tried to colonize earth and enslave them. He challenged them, they imprisoned him for a time for that. He ultimately was released, and battled another villain to protect the earth and was exposed to a gas that gave him cancer and he died.
If ever there was a message there is one of sacrifice, the needs of the many outweigh those of the few. He wasn't a hero out of any other need than to stand up for another world against the tyranny of his own or others.
Every Marvel since then tried to follow his example. Not to force someone to think like he did, but to prevent tyranny. That includes Carol.
This is not a collection of characters that represent an alpha male or female, but standing up for those that can't protect themselves.
In the mcu, Carol is much more powerful than most of the threats she faces. They ultimately are no threat to her at all. She battles a weaker insignificant threat most of the time because she is tired of anyone that gets in her way more than them being a threat. This seems more like watching Superman fighting a civilian that doesn't agree with him, and if he pulverized them for not going about their business, he would look like a bully and less like a hero.
In short, this isn't even the Carol I've read about, let alone the 7 Captain Marvels. This is an advocate to bully people to see it the way you want them to.

What about the "modern audience" ? Are they fans ? No ! They just like political propaganda being forced into them. Until they got enough and move on. Then, Marvel, it will be too late.

Same I am hyped Aswell, to be honest this movie doesn't deserve hate at all, it actually looks like I am going enjoy a fun time in the theatres because it looks like a fun packed enjoyable entertainer movie, the chemistry between Brie Larson, Iman Vellani,Teyonah Paris is absolutely wonderful and also Nick Fury Played By Samuel L Jackson.

I'm glad people are catching on now. Marvel has a list of superhero catch phrases I bet and they're simply recycling them now. I honestly can't specify what other films the line was used because it's been used so much lol. Pretty sure it was used in at least two or three other Marvel films.

Sure, some of the recent Marvel films' storylines haven't been that great(except for gotg 3), it doesn't mean you have to immediately dislike the movie without even watching it. I personally think the story is pretty interesting from what I have seen. I am one of those few people who still have hope for the MCU.

Loving the hype, energy and the scenes so far from the trailer,, I really hope it comes with some bit seriousness to their characters in relation to the comics and doesn't end up being too comedic or a platform of excess humor like Thor: Love and Thunder
It was said apparently that the film will be mature and emotional like Black Widow and WandaVision, which makes sense considering the stuff going on between Monica and Carol.
Thor 4 was only comedy film of Phase 4 , people hate its serious moments , not only Gorr is better than Thor 2 , they even pulled scene straight out of comics

Dear Marvel.
I used to go to every single MCU movie opening night with a group of friends. We were massive fans. The storytelling, the characters, the movie-making craftsmanship. The over-arching narrative that made every movie feel important. The tone and how even fantastical elements were treated with a sense of seriousness and grounding.
All that is seemingly gone now. We've stopped going. We've stopped caring. The franchise feels diluted, unfocussed, outright silly. If we're suffering from "superhero fatigue" it's not because of the retirement of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. It's because the characters we're left with are poorly written and the stories they're in feel more and more irrelevant. Leading nowhere. Filled with unrelatable high magic-multiverse-timeline-nonsense that makes everything feel like it doesn't really matter.
Also, how can a 250-300 million dollar movie in 2023 look _worse_ visually/technically than a 140 million dollar movie looked in 2008? How is that even possible? ... Gareth Edwards just made The Creator for 80 million, and it looks so much better than say Thor: Love & Thunder or Ant-Man: Quantumania. What is going on over there, seriously?
Now there's a rumor going around about a reboot. Which sounds like full-on panic mode. Like I said, the point is not that we need a new Tony Stark. We got the best Tony Stark we could have ever wished for. And he had the perfect arc. Leave it alone. Just produce better movies within the current canon. Treat the characters with respect instead of turning them into clownish versions of themselves. And maybe we'll start going opening night again.
PS: Ditch the Disney+ shows, they're all pretty pointless. And judging from the viewership numbers, not a lot of people care. Just focus on the movie franchise.
A MASSIVE amount of people feel the SAME exact way you do.
A reboot is nothing new. Anyone who’s familiar with comics knows that every few years there’s inevitable reset. A multiversal reset is likely coming so they can explore a new canon and adding other new characters.
@@CaptainPikeachu I agree that it's not new in comics. But this ain't comics. This is the Marvel _CINEMATIC_ Universe. And 99% of the audience for the MCU do not read comic books. Like ever. You need to appeal to non-comic book fans if you want to succeed massively. What the Infinity Saga got right was serialized storytelling. Cohesiveness. Chapters in a book basically. That's how Captain Marvel made a billion dollars, sandwiched neatly in between two Avengers movies. Not that it in itself was such a great movie. But it was the next chapter.
They don't need to reboot the canon to tell good stories. That's a smoke screen. A panic button. They don't need to reboot the MCU to set up a new overarching story with great characters. It's all comes down to the quantity of product (they're making way too many pointless shows and movies right now) and the talent involved. I'm sorry, but hiring a bunch of Rick & Morty writers is not a great idea unless you want your franchise to become more like Rick & Morty. Silly, goofy, pointless and with no rules. Hiring a bunch of unexperienced directors is for the most part going to make your movies feel pretty rookie. They can just stop doing this. They can just go back to what worked and start setting up a new threat. They completely botched Kang. He's already been defeated by other Kangs, then by Sylvie, and then by f-ing ants. He's a punk. They need a new threat and a villain who's proper badass. And they need heroes who face real adversity and loss. That's how you get an audience invested and eating from the palm of your hand.
The cgi looks awful for a +$300 mill film from what I have seen. Jurassic park's cgi is better and that's 30 years old!

Few things i don't like about this is they kept changing captain Marvel looks way too many times instead of just keeping 1 iconic look. Infinity war captain Marvel design and hairstyle was wayy better.
Second, the final action scale too small despite having 2 captain Marvel in the fight so the action scene should scale bigger instead of just fighting like normal human lol

@@CaptainPikeachu I have serious problems with stuff that doesn't use the source material. NOBODY but Disneys writers like what they did with the Hulk. The American comic book industry is on life support because it's been taken over by radical extremists. People are not interested in their self insertion, fanfiction, fetishizing of heroes, and virtue signaling. The heroes are even less heroic because of them and they rarely write the story through the eyes of the hero. That's why Japan has dominated the industry for so long. I absolutely hate how they literally actively have tried to make the men feminine and women masculine. Even with the art work not just the personality. Anybody who has read modern comics knows this. For the people who are obsessed with identity politics it's funny how they like to justify changes to legacy characters, act like it's no big deal, and then act like they are shocked when people HATE the changes. Race and gender swapping legacy characters is lazy writing, sexist, racist, and offensive to ALL parties involved.

You know things are off-point when a voice recording in the first episode of a Disney plus show made Kang seem more threatening than his last two appearances combined and 90.2% of the MCU projects just pretend he doesn't exist at all.
No offence Disney, but you need to focus more on the villain you're trying to build up.
As for me, I'll see The Marvels when it hits Disney+ or something.

It’s a pretty big change, and I am sort of assuming it’s due to her finally deciding to restore her memories…at least I hope that’s what it is so the vibe I’m getting has a decent reason.
