Halflingers are 100% some of the best horses. I noticed that most of them are super kind and sooooooo easy to have in the family! Also, I’m always more cautious with mares because I hate mare attitudes 😂 but the only mares I’ve actually fell in love with happen to be halflingers!! 😂😂
Yes!!! I have fallen in LOVE with the breed. He is one of the smartest horses I’ve owned. And yeah, I’m so over mares. I think we’re going to be a gelding farm from here on out 🤣

That is a great barn. Great work. 👍 We're in the process of building our own. Open similar to yours, that why I'm searching for build ideas. Great video
How exciting for you! I would remove some of the bars - the horses need to be able to lean out and see easily anything they need to investigate (so important since they are flight animals in a confined space).

Hi, it was good to watch your channel. Love the way your setting up behind the stalls. Before you put the fences up have you considered putting rubber mats down that has holes in. This will protect the back pastures from getting churned up and will allow the grass to grow through also being kind under foot for the horses.. You can put this down on the grass in front of your barn on, and it will look brilliant, esp if you put it 1/2 inch dowm and bring the soil to juse level with them allowing grass to grow the ground to drain and to clean poop easier. It's also good to drive on it, and it will hold gravel as well so it doesn't spread easily. 🤪 Any way it is just a thought because you said you liked the grass and not the mud. 🤪

Just irks me when people say they are going to put an animal down for no reason! Ugh! Your barn is looking great! Having water and electric is a game changer. We had a company do the foundation (center aisle and perimeter) and another company build the barn shell. We wanted to do it but HOA told us no. My husband did everything else. Still not done - 75% finished. We have 5, all rescues.
Same. I just had to bring her home, and she’s been perfect! That’s great, hopefully yours will be done spring too! I hope so. I know what joy a barn brings :)
@@rockfishfarm3185 You were there at the right time for her. My Oona was in her last hours at the kill pen and nobody wanted her. She'll be here a year in March. Only started to break out of her shell a little last month. But she is very sweet and I think she's realizing now that this is her forever home. I had an animal communicator talk with her and after that was when she started to open up.
Awww. It sounds like she’s got an awesome home with you and she will just blossom with all the love you’re giving her. I can understand about the erosion and land. One of the hardest things we’ve dealt with is the layout of the land and trying to get everything placed right with all the hills. Some days I’m just like “man, I’d love to a few flat spots ready to build on”. Lol
Thanks so much for posting this! I am also contemplating placing my stall order from Stallworks. Do you know if this is the 4" oc or 3" oc bar spacing? Any more info on how you're liking them or advice is appreciated!
You will be very pleased with them! I believe I did the 4” spacing. So far I love everything about them. Call and talk with the lady there that takes the orders, I believe her name was Kelsey. She was really great to work with and answered all of my questions. Keep me posted. I know you’ll love them.

Like new barn.Your halflinger was doing fine toward the end,he chilled and you pulled his head around and that made him think you wanted him forward, you did that a few times and it was confusing him.i know you were trying to show his face, micromanaging isnt necessary.
I wonder if a chiropractor would help with her pain they work wonders at least with the dark skin. You don’t have to worry about melanomas because pink skin you do.

@@rockfishfarm3185 try a halflinger mare before you completely give up. They are the best! But I totally agree with geldings😂

Super nice! And so much healthier for the horses not to be enclosed in a barn! Yours have fresh air!!
Thank you! Yes we are so glad we did the open air barn style!
