    I'm loving the Lewitt MTP 550. The PGA58 in your review here sounds amazing but I've heard it sound like crap in other reviews. Meg can sing me the phone book. One of the best vocal demo singers in any video.

    Great presentation. Your demos are always so detailed and real world. The mics all sound great with subtle differences to my ear at least. If I had to pick any, the Beta 58 and E835 seemed the nicest sounding in this comparison.

    I absolutely love Meg's voice but wonder why she sings so far away from it. If this is a comparison, most people want to hear these mics used at the distances most people would use them at, which is to say a few inches closer.

  • @stuffnuns
    @stuffnuns 2 года назад +7

    I really like the warm sound I get from my Beta58a, but it’s lacking my needs for side rejection. i play electric harp, and the Shure picks up my playing pretty loudly, unless I literally turn my back on it.
    I tend to sing half again as close as your singer, so a minimum of proximity effect is important. That said, I’m surprised you didn’t include the Audix OM5, with boasts the best feedback and side noise rejection of any other mic in its class. I was skeptical, until i found out Bonnie Raitt has used the OM5 on her tours for almost 2 decades. include it on your next mic review, eh?

    • @VeraTsapurina
      @VeraTsapurina Год назад +1

      Well, definitely you can use it for the recordings as well. I have both Sennheiser e835(which works better at lives as for me) and seElectronics V7( and also I have my condenser Rode Nt1-A) so I must say that V7 is realy great, I did a few covers, I guess it`s perfect for not very loud songs. I also asked my friends who produce music and all of them approved that the quality is enough for my purposes.

    • @JoeStuffzAlt
      @JoeStuffzAlt Год назад

      It more than likely is. Some studio vocals from legendary performances are done on an SM58. Dynamic/live mics definitely help with room noise

      @@VeraTsapurinaso if it’s good for not very loud singers would you say the proximity effect is fair ?

    • @matthaberek
      @matthaberek Год назад +1

      @@JoeStuffzAltyes I’ve seen ALOT of people say the v7 gives shure a run for their money but I besides being good enough for studio vocals I wonder how the proximity effect is. My favorite singer is diverse often being very close to the mic quiet vocals and then pulls away some for loud belting chorus etc .however they had ALOT of analog gear back then and the vocals sound rather thin in my opinion. Yet I’ve heard other albums where it sounds much thicker beefier tone but this was probably due to digital eq compression multi effects from a more modern computer. I’ve also had interest in the telefunken m80 which I hear is amazing for up close singers but double the price. V7 is 100$ m80 is 199$ however telefunken m80 says of the get go that they claim their mic is suitable for BOTH the stage and studio. So I guess I’m saying I want a mic that can do double duty. I understand this will come with limitations but can only afford time being to purchase ONE new mic

I have a strong vocal presence and need to have a mic that can project my voice from left to right (of the microphone) as I stand onstage. I need a mic that can even pic my guitar sound up well. So that I can record and mix later. My room is not sound proof. My total budget is $300. But a shopkeeper told me that you cannot do recording with dynamic mic. Please tell me what should I do.
