  • In this video i am using Cisco 3750x switches to explain how to stack 4 switches and verify the operation of the stack. The CLI commands that I am using here are very useful to verify the stack operation.

Excellent explanation! I do have a question- How do I prevent the stack from changing switches order in the stack? For example, I want switch 2 to remain the same number even though we lose switch 1. Is that based on switch priority?

Switch number won’t change as they are associated with port number too. Where did you see it changed ? Can you share the output for the command line please

yes. when you do a code upgrade the new code will be upgraded into the master stack and other stack members will pull the code from the master. It is the design by default. uploading the code into each flash will chock up your network bandwidth if you are doing code upgraded for 100s of switches in a campus envt.
