Had the pleasure to see this in action at a customer site just this week. Very innovative solution that will undoubtedly prove useful to many organisations. The customer site I was at purchased these after they had several POE switches fail during a lightning storm. If they had this technology the rest of the switches in the stack could have kept them up and running.

Seems like a great feature but i can't help but feel like I'm watching a late-night infomercial.

I'm trying to do this with a few 3750X switches that I have, but I'm having trouble.
Are there any setup commands or licenses needed for this? I have connected the cables between a few 3570X switches. I have tried the "stack-power stack (power stack name)" command, but I couldn't make it work. I tried show commands like "show stack-power" and I can't get that to work either. Am I missing anything?

well don't get me wrong, that's nice, but still take that last one out, and see what happens if you lose power to the building, you better have a back up generator still, right?

It's not as amazing as they show it. Remember that it only worked because they had 4 devices connected to the one power supply. If you had those fully populated AND all pulling 30W each etc. well then you still can only suck so much power out of one PSU. I wish they would have mentioned that here but sadly they did not.

not a great feature when you have to reboot the whole stack when upgrading IOS
