  • Chris Berman and Tom Jackson host ESPN NFL Primetime for 2009 Wild Card Sunday, where the Baltimore Ravens defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 34-14 and Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals outdueled Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 51-45.
The Ravens converted three first-quarter turnovers by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady into 17 points on their way to a 24-0 lead New England could not recover from. It was the Patriots' first home loss of the season and their first home playoff loss in more than 30 years. On top of that, it was the Ravens' first ever win against the Patriots after five consecutive losses.
This high scoring shootout set the NFL postseason record for most points (96), touchdowns (13) and first downs (62), while ranking third in total yards (1,024). But in the end, it was a defensive play that made the key difference when Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby returned a fumble 17 yards for a touchdown in overtime. This was only the second overtime game in NFL postseason history ever to be won by a defensive touchdown. The first one had been won by the Packers (vs. Seahawks in 2003).

Big facts. An upset in New England by Baltimore with a high powered offense (ne) versus a high powered defense (bal). Then the follow up that was the gb-ari was just pure excitement.

7:44 In that game, Warner had more touchdown passes than he had incompletions. Insane. And there were people out there who thought he wasn’t a Hall of Famer. Give me a break
