So to Dana's video, yes and no. Vitamin is really supposed to be used to get tough underlying pigment out of your hair and its meant to be done multiple times considering it doesn't damage your hair compared to using standard color removers like ion etc. Dawn and dandruff shampoo can dry your hair out really bad but in my experience the Vitamin C doesn't leave my hair feeling as bad as the other options and I'm able to do it multiple times. What most people don't know is that vitamin C activation is elevated through heat, so the reason a lot of people don't experience a lift like they're expecting is because it needs to be covered with a cap and have heat applied to it. The heat from your scalp will also help. There is sctually a 2,000mg vitamin C capsule that exists so you don't have to worry about personally crushing the Vitamin C into a fine powder. It works similarly to a bleach bath but definitely do a strand test or just be really careful when using it on super compromised hair because it is much stronger than the 1,000mg. Hope this gives a little insight!! :) Loving the color btw!
Idk, I always use heat and don't see a lot of change. Also, in one of her videos that I linked(there are 2) she compared a ton of extensions to see if there was a different between using just the soap/shampoo and using the Vitamin C and there was no difference, so I find it hard to believe the Vitamin C makes the difference based on the results. 🤷♀️ The Vitamin C method requires dandruff and/or dish soap anyway so regardless, hair will be dried out either way.
@@NemoNebulous I watched her video before I saw this one coincidently. She did do her experiment on freshly dyed hair when typically vitamin C is used on hair that’s already been washed a few times/faded. It’s also depending the on the brand of dye used. There’s lots of factors to consider but to rule out completely that vitamin C does nothing isn’t very helpful since it can make a huge difference when fading color. Not to mention everyone’s hair is different, and the integrity of your hair is also something to factor in. I wish RUclips allowed commenters to post photos so I could give an example of what I mean. That’s all:)
Yeah it works for me and I just use regular shampoo. I even did a strand test to compare with a bleach bath and got better results from the vitamin c! Also vitamin c is a lot cheaper if you get it bulk as a powder. I've had the same $20 tub for like a year
Aww that color remover options dry your hair and do nothing. Used this issues and I’ve been doing for almost two decades. I haven’t had issues yet. Best of luck!! I love multicolored hair. ❤😊
Thank you for this! Half of my hair is that pastel green color you have at the beginning of the video, and I was trying to figure out what to do without bleaching my hair but I was worried it would turn out shitty. I'm running home after work and buying pink hair dye tonight XD
Most of the green was at the roots so if the pink was applied just to that area (similar to bleaching roots) it may have resulted in a more neutral tone. But the deep pink looks great! Good job.
happy mistake! Your rockin that colour! You gave me courage to put pink on top of my crappy green
Love this! I am doing green to pink dye at the moment.. please tell me, when the pink faded was the green shown??
Did you find out?
