  • It's time for a colour change; in this video I'll show you how to get rid of blue hair dye. I actually had a mix of blue and green hair dye in my hair, but I'm sure this product will work for any colour of direct dye. I didn't even know until after I dyed my hair green and then blue that green/blue dyes are said to be some of the hardest colours to get out of your hair!! That being said I am so happy that this product worked as well as it did. Watch the video to watch the steps I took to bring my hair back to blonde with minimal damage. Also, I hope you don't mind the long intro, I wanted to give you as much information as possible :).

    • @JannaNiki

      @@kaitlynmills9893 The colour remover should work on both at the same time, I don't think you will need to do two sessions. You can always do a patch test to see how it reacts to your hair before committing to your whole head. :) let me know how it goes!

      @Janna Niki that's what I was thinking actually I got color oops so I'll just do a patch and if it goes wrong I can cover it back up with semi till I figure out what to do. Honestly I might just buzz it off if this all goes wrong 😅

      Are they really professionals though if they don't 🤔
      I see stylists comment under diy videos all the time, acting high and mighty and condemning laypeople doing their own hair, but the reason some of us do their own hair (besides saving money doing so) is because we've been let down by so-called professionals because they either didn't know what the hell they were doing or didn't listen to the client's wishes, or both.
      In my opinion, people that don't know what she just covered shouldn't even be called professionals because what separates them from any other person coloring their hair is simply a paycheck and nothing else.

    • @AkiAlchemicae
      @AkiAlchemicae 3 года назад +2

      @@pewpewcat7679 I totally agree 🤷🏼‍♀️ but being a professional only means that you went to school/uni to earn a degree, sadly it does qualify you for working in a field without saying anything about how good you are at what you're doing.
      I personally only do my hair myself because whenever I let other stylists do it, they fuck it up.
      So I totally understand your distrust. But there are good ones out there, you know? Stylists who work hard, do their best (and still earn very little money, but that's a different story) so please, don't let yourself be fooled by these high-horsed idiots on the internet or those stylists who don't give a f*ck about people's hair.

Wanna go for more of a sherbet style for summer so this is the only time I’m dreading blue 😭 (although it’s still beautiful ;w; it was the first time doing it myself and I’m so proud with how VIVID the blue is)

My streaks were violet, and I usually just let violet come out of my hair over time, but this is the first time I've bleach-bathed it, and wow I wasn't expecting such a bright teal! I had no issues taking blue dye out of my hair. I used the baking soda, dish detergent, and a little shampoo method. I did it 3x let it sit for 30-45 minutes each time, it faded the aquamarine (adore brand) out of my hair. I did a bleach bath/ wash? for 30 minutes and it was completely gone and now half my hair is cotton candy pink and the other half is back. And I have curly hair,my hair is just fine still curly (curl did fall a little little bit) but my hair is still soft and curls are still there.

    Thank you so much for being so informative! I really loved how in depth your video was! The device that came with your Olaplex #1 actually goes inside of your bottle! You should be able to pop off the squeezy lid that comes on your Olaplex and then you pop the device onto the bottle instead. Once you pop the device into your bottle, when you squeeze the bottle the Olaplex squeezes up into the measurement section. Once you stop at your correct amount of Olaplex and let go the device closes itself at the bottom so that you can tip it over to pour into your bleach mixture! I hope that my description makes sense and was informative for you! Love from another fellow Canadian!!

    My only suggestion would have been to use a 30vol on the roots because Olaplex takes you down another level, effectively to a 20. So the 20 you used turned into a 10 vol. Not sure if that was your intent or not. Good job on trying to maintain the integrity of your hair.

      That's not true. They recently changed the formula, so you do not need to bring it down a level anymore. Also, 20 vol is the max that should be on the scalp!

Then I tried using the purple shampoo/baking soda/dish soap/developer method and it didn’t do anything at all. I’m going to try the joico color remover again next week. I used it before when I had purple hair and it made me back to blonde! It really does work I just think that the black I used just had red undertones that are hard to get out :( but the joico color eraser really does work but it will lift natural color too so if anyone is thinking of applying it just be careful where you put it!!

      Try a bleach bath! There's plenty of videos about them on YT - you basically mix bleach and developer with shampoo, conditioner, and water, and leave it on for less time than you would full on bleach. The bleach is diluted so it does less damage but it just lifts semi-perm colour right out. I just today used it to get green and blue out of mine, it took it back to blonde in like...20 minutes.
