I can’t help but chuckle at your naïveté. And, don’t feel bad, as I’m not making fun of you. You’re making it all work and this process is teaching you so many useful bits of info and skills. The stories you’ll have to tell your children, one day, will be worth their weight in gold, that’s for sure. Congratulations!!!

You might have to make a tool shed..... preferably with a lock, so that things don't go astray. I find it helps to draw outlines of things where they go, that way you can see at a glance if something is out of place or missing. I find that helps tremendously to have visual reminders to help keep things tidy and organized. Plus it gets expensive having to keep replacing lost stuff all the time. A nail and a "chalk outline" on the wall is a LOT cheaper than having to buy a NEW one in a couple months when you need it again.😉

Hurray Mick! Here in Albany, New York. The sudden snow fall and freezing rain left 80,000 residents left without power, lights, heat and all the comforts of home! I split wood, kept two fireplaces going for fourteen hours, so I appreciate in a SMALL way the challenges you are having in Alaska!

My heart goes out to you with your curtain disappointment. They were sold in pairs until the recent past. I just went thru this with my Granddaughter. She called and vented and I soothed. It is a lesson I also had to learn when this transition first began.....read labels carefully! I can't wait to see the finished result as I love the color you chose. I grew up in Fairbanks and Kenai in the 1960's and watching your video's brings back some lovely memories. Keep up your great work and keep loving every minute of it!

Turn the one curtain on its side. There should be a small hem that you can cut a small hole into to thread the rod thru. Get a small wood dowl to use as a rod then cut the circles off. It will be only one curtain still but should provide privacy when needed and slide to open when desired. Good luck

You are doing the best you can with your knowledge and skill level. By way of a hint, there are metal clamps (they may have been in the package with the sink) that go in the metal tracks around the underside of your sink and then they tighten to your counter top instead of relying on the caulking to hold the sink in place. 😎

Hey, if things aren’t permanent yet, I highly recommend having your kitchen on your left when you come into your cabin by the front door and scooting your bookshelf and bed to create a “cozy corner” towards the back where you have the cabinets now. It’ll separate the spaces more and keep the messier kitchen type stuff by the door which tends to get messy often, and leave a more “sacred” cleaner space by the window in the back!

A shop teacher told me ‘measure twice, cut once’! I have always remembered that advice.

@@optimistprime2751 He may take advice from the comment section, but just does not respond. It does not mean he does not read them and take advice. That is my thoughts anyway.

It's maddening about the curtains. But alas, oftentimes they only sell them in single panels. Great job, Nick!!

Looks like you figured out the generator issue. The gas cap vent wasn’t on. I’ve done that plenty of times 👍.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has admired your parent's finished projects but I'm also sure they'd both agree that their first attempts had their share of "imperfections". It's obvious they've learned a lot since then (they just didn't do videos back then ;) Glad you're back, sir! Stay safe and God Bless

It takes a lot of balls to do what you have already accomplished...most people haven't done what you have by the time they are 25! Forget the haters and focus on what's important....you.
