- Twister... Ride It Out is a special effects simulation attraction located at Universal Studios Florida, based on the 1996 film Twister. It was announced in 1997 and replaced the Ghostbusters Spooktacular attraction in the New York area of the park. The attraction is hosted by actors Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, who starred in the original film.

Nothing like seeing that massive drive-in sign flying off to the right. So impressive. This and Jaws will be missed forever. Live action rides will hopefully make a comeback in the future.
And now Twister 2 is coming out! We need it back!
I'm really sad they got rid of this attraction. I can understand that it's based on a movie most people don't know about these days, but it was such a unique attraction.
Yeah! Stupid, jerk, Jimmy took over the studio. THANKS FOR NOTHING, JIMMY !
Twister is such a good movie
@@grammarlyworshipper1819 Eh, the novelty of it has worn off.
@@JCBro-yg8vd yeah, it used to be my favorite but im a really big “The Day After Tomorrow” fan now
It's one of my most historic attractions!
rest in peace Twister
Isn't this ride at Universal Studios Florida anymore
BroSpeak oh no!! :c
I know, it’s so sad. I rode this as a 10 year old...
@@tombryant7242 Same here
Rachel Quarrell & Bill Paxton. 😥
I remember this scared the shit out of me when I was little
Little Big Heart can you shut the fuck up and stop repeating the same shit over and over? we get it, you don't like the ride. we also don't give a fuck.
John Hutchinson me too
ethan why are you so negative! He just said he got scared
John Hutchinson Frrrrrrrr
Same
only thing i remember from this ride was a flying cow but maybe i was just going insane
They had that when i was there, didnt see it in this one though…
There is clearly a cow flying in this video. Wouldn't be Twister without one. I am sad this is no longer there.
@@heatherjenkins8468 agreed it was a big part of my childhood one of my favorites as a kid i love the cow part
That’s one way to make a milkshake! xD
Me too, lol!
wish they kept it would of been a perfect spot to remember and reminisce Bill Paxton
Damn. I've been watching that guy for awhile then. I thought he was just on frailty. And that limp bizkit video.
This where you just stand &watch the whole time? & The ground shakes a little bit? Maybe some wind & water? 🤷♀️ I don't remember being too impressed
This ride terrified me when I was a kid. I still have nightmares about tornadoes from it. But I wish it was still there so I could experience it again :P
That’s crazy me too
Same. I remember bits of it and being scared! I was also afraid of tornados haha!
I know this an old comment thread. I was always petrified of tornadoes. That was my irrational fear and this ride made it waaaay worse. I remember crying 😂
Same
I'm sure it is much more interesting in person. The approaches and waiting areas are often better than the rides as well these days.
BellinghamsterTrail Twister is dead
This was both. Very sadden to learn it’s no longer there. 😥
Too bad they tore this ride down for Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon. I cried. I loved this ride so much. I'm not even disappointed, I'm heartbroken. They also tore down Disaster Studios for Fast and the furious. I'm upset about that too. So many memories are gone now. Sorry for spilling all of my emotions to the public, no one probably cares. But I am gonna say I'm really gonna miss those rides. Even though they were not as cool or intense and people want now. I wish I could go on those rides when I was at Universal last week. Now I'm home and still disappointed. At least I enjoyed them while they still existed. Again, sorry for making this a big deal. Those rides were just so important to me. I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate. I didn't mean to make anyone upset if you read this. If you got upset at all. Or is it just me. I feel I'm being unreasonable, but this ride was a big part of my childhood and to see it gone is devastating, as well as the other ride that was taken down. 😢😭
I'm sorry that you are upset about what happened to the rides but there is one thing that you said that doesn't make sense you said that you weren't disappointed but then you said that you were still disappointed I'm sorry it just doesn't make sense to me
its okay miranda we know what he meant
Lilly Benitez I feel exactly the same way that you feel, and I am _NEVER_ going back to Universal Orlando again, _EVER._ They shouldn't have done this, they should not have taken down this awesome experience for stupid Jimmy Fallon, which didn't even look fun. Universal is destroying themselves, to make it worse, only for profit, not passion. My heart is torn apart...😢😞💔
Lilly Benitez it’s okay! Am not mad
Fast and furious may be the sorriest excuse for a ride.
Hearing Bill’s voice made me tear up! 🥲 Angel Bill Paxton and Angel Dustin both have their angel wings! :)
Don’t forget Philip Seymour Hoffman!
They may be devils. lol kidding
I always liked this ride. It was unique and relied heavily on physical effects. It was windy, hot, wet, loud as hell, and the end scared the crap out of you. Whereas many other rides (especially motion simulation ones) can start to blend together, this was kind of in its own standing, even if it was a bit dated. The ride that replaced it has a really nice queue, though.
Jimmy Fallon will never compare to this attraction
I don't know why people are giving this such bad reviews. I go to Florida once every two years for 3 weeks and when we get to universal it's the first thing we always go on. It never gets boring, just really exciting. This is my opinion.
M family does too 😃
I agree!
Summer Ashton guess what they demolished it and replaced it with Jimmy Fallon
cats r people 2 stop trying to upset people dumbass
The injustice of replacing it with Jimmy Fallon. I get the whole NYC area kind of thing but still. I never went on it but it seems so fucking awesome and I loved that movie. I like the Ghostbusters replacement but I wish they could have kept both of those. And the Back to the Future Ride instead of replacing it, and getting rid of Jaws all together. I missed so much 😭
I was in this attraction back in ‘03. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
R.I.P. BILL PAXTON
That cow out of no where lol 😂
I remember going to this when I was about 10 maybe? Scared me to the point of tears. I probably shouldn't have gone through this ride since the movie also made me cry haha.
I’m not alone i literally started crying.
Don't care what anybody says... I like the movie Twister. And this when I was in it the first time terrified me.
I also love the movie twister
Golden days of Universal before everything went 3D and digital
I wish they wasn't replacing this experience :(. I enjoyed this the last time I was in Orlando.
I went there twice back in 03. First time at Universal Studios and boy did I had a blast. Loved the movie and still loved the ride. :)
I haven’t been there since 1999
I was 7 years old and this scared the crap out of me
Imagine a REAL twister came in while they were in the building xD
Lol the cow we ent flying XD
xD
+Kleivys Gonzalez "Cow...another cow!" "I think that was the same cow." "I gotta go we got cows!" The best lines in the movie.
+Kleivys Gonzalez agreed. I just cracked up at that part.

I never saw Twister, but I went on the ride with my family a couple times when I was in high school.
Man, was it fun.
We were right up in the front, so we could feel the heat of the flames.
Wasn't scared when I was a kid but I remember the ending where the roof came down making a loud sounds scaring me.
When I was 10.. my family took me to universal studios and the first ride I went on was the back to the future ride and back than loud sounds bothered me so bad that I cried and my dad told me to close my eyes... good times
I cannot begin to explain how much this traumatized me when I was a little kid 😂
This Ride at Universal Studious was as good and awesome as it gets simulating what it’s like to be in a actual Tornado Warning! I loved Twister I wish I could of gone on this ride
This ride scared the shit outta me when I was younger 😂🤪
That cow is hilarious!!!!!
😄😄😄😄😄
It's a shame they got rid of this ride. And disaster as it shows the 'behind the scenes' of film making. I've no idea how the Jimmy Fallon ride will compare!
As I can't do coasters I'm looking forward to this as Twister is my favourite movie :3
it's gone :(
Can’t believe this is gone right when the new movie is coming out! Ugh I LOVED THIS so much
God, I remember going here when I was a little kid. Fun times. RIP Bill Paxton and Seymour.
I love the cow floating around 😍👀🐄
I was 4 when I did this attraction. I was not scared of many things but tornados freaked me out. I remember crying hard during the attraction but looking back on it this is so cool! Wish it was still there so I could go back and face my fears! Lol
I want the twister ride back. I was there last week and they got rid of it
It never occurred to me that people who've actually survived devastation and tragedy due to a tornado would most likely skip this one.
'Tis all but a memory... I remember going through this attraction a few times and being amazed at the scene unfolding in front of me. As a Tonight Show fan, though, I can't wait for the new ride :)
Anyone else here from Zane and heaths unfiltered podcast?
Deadasss 😭😂
I LOVE this ride!!!
The roof above you collapses at the end and scares the crap outta you. So good.
At the beginning of this special effects simulation, there's the movie clip from "Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs", courtesy of Universal Pictures.
Wow I would so have done that! I love that movie, rest in peace Bill Paxton Gone Too Soon
I loved this ride
THIS IS SO NOSTALGIC BRO 😭
The first time I went to Orlando I was 10 yrs old. I've been many times since then and never went back to the Twister attraction because it scared me that much. That being said, thunder, lightning, storms in general are a huge fear of mine. Anyways, I remember being on the bottom level in the front on twister and the floor dropped.Only about an inch or so but it really freaked me out.No one was expecting it,especially since your just standing, focused on the tornado. All their was to hold onto was that metal bar. It's not like it fell enough to loose your balance. This was 21 years ago when it first opened so they must have taken that part out.
I went right after this opened, I was soaked and very impressed with the effects. The best part was getting soaked on a hot day in Florida when many of the other water rides had left me dry. I also remember the transition between the projected twister and the smoke tornado being more seamless. This recording wasn't as good as I remember it being.
I really admire all the great craftsmanship and work that has clearly gone into the attratcion, but I think it's time for it to go tbh, there so much potential :)
I think it could use a revamp with today's technology.
Jupiter9099 I agree. It is boring. Maybe if they made it into an actual thrill ride.
I wish I could ride this until I heard "great" news that it was replaced with Jimmy Fallon Race around New York or whatever the hell. Thanks a lot Jimmy Fallon.
I’ll never forget absolutely loosing my shit on this ride when I was 8. I was crying and holding on to my mom. She was hysterically laughing because the cow flew across the sky.
At the end of it It's so weird how he says "thank you for surviving."
This was one of those attractions that you remember. I went on when I was a kid and will never forget it. I’m sad it’s closed.
I rode this as a kid, but I didn’t even see most of it. I was crouched down and wrapped around my dad’s leg the whole time 😂 It was so scary!
One of my all-time favorites! They should have just updated it to be more modern! Would have been even more epic!!!
Man They Should Of Kept This #Classic Ride Man Man Good Memories As A Kid
I hated this ride because every since I was 4 I had a phobia of tornadoes 😂
4:23 it’s Mia, the flying cow!
This was the reason I came to disney to be on that ride.. it is very fun when u get there and it feels so real
Twister ride it out is very gone. I would have liked to try it but the evil thugs got rid of it.
It was awesome
That looks awesome!
I love the twister its one of my favorite rides besides mako and mantis
I went on this several times as a little kid.. loved it back then but unfortunately theres not much i remember aside from the broken up house but that floating cow.. i’ve always remembered that floating cow 😭
if they amped up the wind at the audience like intensely, and made the tornado bigger this wouldve been so great!!
HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY TWISTER!!!!
This messed me up as a kid and made me afraid of fire to the point that I would blow out candles around me if people lit them 🤣🤣
Cool looks so real
I wish they still had this! 🌪
Wait so your just standing there /// my first visit to universal studios was when the jimmy Fallon ride opened
well my house was destroyed by a tornado when i was 6 it was a awful but interesting experience thank God we all got to safety
+Jason Hobble I'm sorry to hear about your house, but glad you're alright. If you saw the movie Twister, probably would give you nightmares about a house being relocated by tornados. Good movie though.
yeah it was
+Jason hobble that's terrible I sorry. thank goodness y'all are OK.
+Kay Nettles hi!😂😂😂
I'm so sorry for you
I been on this when I was 4 I loved it
That was my favorite part when I went loved it
Better than Jimmy Fallon lame ride
simple yet cool at the same time
I've been there its awesome
I remember this ride and it scared the crap out of me when I was little
I remember going to America as a kid and absolutely screaming my head off at this since it scared me so much, and I just remember a lot of people laughing at me and my dad not being there so I felt so unsafe lmao I miss it a lot
HDThrillSeeker, i remember when this ride scared the crap out of me, i was on the verge of crying and then the cow came. I laughed so hard I wasn't scared anymore
I remember going there as a kid. I was always terrified of this and the Jaws ride lol.
I remember going there back in 2005 and literally there were only four other people there along with my fam lol and it was the scariest shit on my life haha. Went there again in 2013 and never expected it to still be there
Damn I haven’t been to Universal since 2015 and i’m just finding out they shut this down. Was one of my favorite attractions to go on.
I remember crying on this… the memories 😔
I was so sad to go yesterday for the 3rd time and see this gone 😢 cause me and my fam always start with this one😢 and disaster studio is gone too. They will be missed 😢
I went to Universal Studios with my Family one time when I was a kid and this was one of my favorite attractions there. Instead of just letting it set in a shed and go to waste, They should sell it to some place like OWA Park in Foley, Alabama that way this attraction can eventually be built back in an all New Park with an all New Building.
This scared me when I was a kid, but now that I'm an amateur storm chaser & study weather, I'd like to go on this again, since Twister is my favorite movie. I heard they shut it down though.
Wow twister ride I want to visit someday💁🏽❤️
I went on this and cried at the cow flying away I screamed " NOOOO MR COW"
this was really neat but I think to make it even better and really feel like the movie they should have actually had Bill and Jo running around the set, that would have been awesome :)
man...those effects
It was one the best!! Just planned a visit to Universal and got so sad when I noticed they did'n have this one anymore... What a loss
wow that crossing sign must be very strong a cow got lifted in the air the bigger sign got destroyed but of course the smaller sign lives XD
I remember riding this as a kid and now looking back I find attractions like these and ET so much more creative than some roller coasters.
I do remember the stage dropping down at the end a couple inches or was that just me? Like the stage you were standing on slowly lifted a couple inches without noticing and it dropped at the end or maybe I'm getting It twisted
There was supposed to be a fire tornado when the "fake gas" caught on fire! What happened?!
There isn't meant to be
The point of the fire is to make the tornado vortex break and disappear and make everyone back up
It used to be really really large
The fire was nearly the same hight as the tornado was
+Chucky The killer doll
I went 3 summers in a row. Saw Blue Man Group (besides the point) and I particularly remember the flame/gas/tornado joined and made a fire tornado. Mind you, this was back 04-07
+Chucky The killer doll
Maybe they stopped it from happening due to increased safety protocols?
It never was meant to be one
Some times it does form into a fire tornado

I remember doing this attraction when I was like 6 or 7 I dreamed and cried and hated it. But my family tried to cheer me up with the flying cow. 😂
Cool
Watching this...
I feel like I have PTSD from being on this ride as a child.
I remember this ride when i was real young
one time when i was 6 my parents took me here and i screamed the whole time
I've never been to universal Orlando and rode twister, how does it look like inside the building?
why did i watch this im going to have tornadoe nightmares again for the 100th time
