worked irrigation, building maintenance job for 7 years of my life. Working 55-65 hours a week. In the BLISTERING sun, digging with a shovel pretty much nonstop. That shit will tear you down.
I do not think getting an education is key to getting a good job but since I graduated with my degree, along with my experience of course, I’ve been in warehouse management, division manager, inventory and parts manager.
Sometimes you have to struggle/work hard to make money. Do it because in the end, when you look back on it, you’ll understand how important that moment was for you.

I put myself through school doing that kind of work, so my advice would be to go back to school! That can open the doors for some new opportunities!

I can only say that the organization over us is trying to make things better - but after incidents that have happened with me, I feel no opportunity for growth remaining. Godspeed to you and best wished blessings.

As of 7/8/2022 Coca-Cola just fired me an hour ago, they said I've had "attendance issues" yet I've only missed 2 days and when I pointed out I was literally sick they went to "yea Publix called and complained 3 times" those managers will get you fired because they hate their job. I literally went behind 2 route owners that kept their backroom horrible and I'd get it looking good, even the receiving guy said "we'd rather have you over the actual route owner". He is 100% right about the hours and pay, you can work your azz off and the pay does not reflect it plus the wear and tear on your body isn't worth it... I even had a former Coke guy tell me he had 3 hip surgeries from working at Coca-Cola and that "it isn't worth it young blood". They didn't even give detail and I know exactly what shitty dude called and complained... I busted my ass getting that back room right after they complained about the actual route owner. Def slave work and Coca-Cola gives 0 fucks about you or your health, they just want their product on them shelves.

I worked at Coke over 10 years ago, and our daily rate was $125 with flexible workweek overtime (meaning we did not get paid time in a half). My situation was similar to yours with working 60-70 hours a week, not being paid fairly, toxic management at stores and Coke, rarely getting to see my friends and family, and limited opportunities for advancement. After quitting Coke, I went back to school, learned a new skill, and started a new career. My life and job satisfaction are much better now, but it is disappointing to see some Coca-Cola shops treat their employees poorly. Thank you for your video.

Tf.... supposedly there was a rule book before you sign in that I didn't notice my first time at the store ... Manager called my supervisor and said I'm not welcome back at the store ... 😒 found out later they sent me there because she kicked out 9 merchandisers before me .... so I came back on my off time as a regular customer .... revenge bitch 🤪 😤

How are you my brother? I know exactly what you’re talking about. I retired from Coca Cola in 2005. Along with that I ended up having knee, hip, two umbilical hernia surgeries and three shoulder surgeries throughout the years not to mention I ended up in Sheppard Pratt. I lost everything and damn near lost my life. They’re were days I didn’t think I was going to make it. When DOT required logging we were dropping like flies come Wednesday because of the hours we worked. I can’t remember the exact year but it was a horrible blizzard and there was no getting out, my supervisors constantly were ringing my phone telling me to get my ass in. Eventually he called and said there’s no work today. Anyway, my point is, I was in the laundry room and looked at my wife and asked “who’s bra is that on the line? “She looked at me with this a perplexed look and said “honey that your daughters bra“. Need I say more my brother. Take care. Oh! By the way, Walmart was one of the absolute worst store to service. Just my opinion. And I’m glad I’m out!

Update! I got fired yesterday from coke because I missed too many days within my 90 days! I got hurt at work twice and had doctors excuses for all the days I missed but they still didn’t care, they fired me! I was 4 days away from completing my 90 day probation period.
I never took a lunch break lol we had to go in at 5am over here and I commuted 40 minutes to my route everyday. So wake up at 4am everyday, was off Tuesday and Wednesday. 10 hour days everyday. Feet would be killing me and I’d sleep everyday after work for a few hours because I’d be so sleepy from getting 5-6 hours a night
It’s not worth it unless you NEED the job. I’m in college still and wanted to try it out so I don’t care that I lost the job. The reason for firing me was bullshit anyways! I guess doctors excuses don’t matter now a days

The problem is a LOT of jobs are starting to go this route..including office jobs. I'm noticing a lot of office-type jobs that want you to have weekend availability, including being "on-call." Yes, you don't have the back-breaking factor, but you have the mental draining factor. Work, in general, sucks. I've worked both office-type jobs and warehouse-type jobs(including Sears and Cape Cod Potato, Chips~which was owned by Campbell's Soup when I worked for them). Both had long hours, the warehouse was good because I didn't deal with customers, or phones, but it killed my back, and the steel-toed boots hurt my feet. You gotta do what's best for you and your situation.

And they tell you after you get hired that you’re gonna have to be working 6 days a week 10 hour days but those 10 hour days turn into 14 lol. My first week I had 4 different people asking if I was gonna quit yet. Awful and negative atmosphere. Everyone’s constantly arguing with each other and they expect you to work like 15 hours a day just to finish a store and you have 3-5 stores a day. It’s an impossible job because they can’t keep people because of the work load plus they held my first check and I spent 150 dollars just on gas and had to borrow money just to get to work until I got paid. Bullshit. They need to rethink that entire job role and at least supply a company vehicle for you to use.

This meant working the hours they expected meant they were paying really well. But yeah, just too many 6 day weeks, too many 10+ hour days. Not enough help, no bonuses other than a free t shirt here and there. Coca cola is imo a terrible company to work for and I'm glad to be done. I interviewed with them a couple years ago and they treated me like they didn't even want me to be there. I've been a merchandiser for another popular brand for 5 years now and I'm officially sick of merchandising. The crap that merchandisers have to put up with is just unacceptable and not even worth what they pay us. I'm always tired from the job and have no life at all. I'm ready to go and desperately looking for a solution.

Today is my last day working for Coke, I’ve worked 2 summers as seasonal merchandiser and it fucking sucked, I wake up 3:30 In the morning 5 days straight just to break my back on so much product for 1 person to handle one 1 route because they can’t get enough people to help, managers don’t give a shot about their employees as long as product is number 1 priority. My advice, don’t work for Bottler Merchandising, especially for Coke.

It might be too bad to work for Coca Coca in production or wearhouse or transport or whatever the cause may be. But everything Is base on senority but it leave great money and yea I work for Coca Cola here in Downey California and sometimes I thought that working for a company like Coca Cola it’s like being prison because you send more time working than your family at home. But if you look at the bright side you should look up to your coworkers as your family. Why because you and your coworkers spend more time with each other and everybody gets paid the same amount and everybody pays union depts to project there jobs. So I can’t complain about my job as Coca Cola I love my job as a bottler
