6Four6 Films yeah man i have the 35 variant, and it has PLENTY of gain... all dials go to 11, so my gain usually chills at about 9-10, sometimes I don’t even use a distortion pedal because the dirt channel is so good, as far as a tube screamer goes.... u should always have one regardless, I can recommend for $30 the Behringer Vintage Tube Overdrive (which is a TS808 clone) this was the first overdrive I purchased and I still have it, it does the job brother!!

Oh I get it! This version does not come with a reverb switch thing and tuner. That’s why the Orange Crush 20 RT stands for the reverb and tuner! But the 20 RT is a bit more expensive.💵
I had one of that amp it jams I wasn't expecting it to be as loud as it it for as small as it is unfortunately I didn't have it that long before someone stole it. Personal I'm a Marshall guy but Orange make some great sounding amps.
The distortion sounds a bit fuzzy, and slightly unfocused, maybe putting an overdrive in front of it will tighten the tone to get a bit more bite out of the amp. The clean channel on the crush series is amazing, especially on the 35rt. It's a good amp for sure.
Yup I just bought one of these to see if I am missing anything always playing through Marshall's, and that is what I noticed/heard immediately..that fuzz. I am going to try exactly what you said and place an OD pedal on it to see what happens. Stay tuned!
I've got the Crush 20RT - and it utterly wipes out my friend's 50W acoustic amp! The volume levels are out of this world - and I normally don't go over 4 on the clean channel for my blues and jazz. If I want to dirty anything I do it with a Tank-G that's been updated with a lot of clean/overdriven preamps!
I have the Orange 35RT & it is a fucking monster... and honestly, you have to hear it in person even with the tube screamer...I use the od808 and if I turn the dirt past 3 (with the gain appropriately at 9-10) I could do a show at a small venue...for the price...idk if there’s a better combo, & I’ve had a few... after a few months of owning the 35RT I ended up selling my other combo amps, I’m sure the 20RT will get the job done just the same, part of me finds that the 35rt is almost too loud to play at my house so the 20RT could potentially be a better option if u live in an apartment etc... but anyway I can confirm that for the price, you will be hard pressed to find this tone elsewhere

Not sure about the 60w version, but the 35rt has both a Clean Volume & Dirty Volume controls, and then one Gain Control. I would say, it technically doesn’t have a “Master” volume on the 35 but, the way you would use the Dirty or Clean Volume along with the Gain, acts very similar to a Master Control. That being said, it can do both Quiet and LOUD... Although I would think that the Orange Crush 60 would have more controls than the 35rt, if you NEED a Master Control and the 60w version has it... I would get that. But if you are on a similar budget as I am, the 35rt sounds great in person and is perfect for the house. Orange makes the best Combo Amps IMO so you can’t go wrong with either, I’d say it’s more of a question of how much sound and volume you want out of it.

I’m just getting back into playing after years of ignoring the guitar and I’m focusing on blues and jazz with a semi hollow body Ibanez AS73. This was a poor choice of amp for that purpose so it’s back to the drawing board for me. It is a very nicely put together little amp though.
I own a mustang LT 25. not a bad starter but for me it's too much fiddling with knobs. The metal sounds on it are awesome for a small amp but I'd get the orange anyday in retrospect

I played a cr120h when shopping for my DSL100HR and It sounded better than any SS I've ever played. I've owned a couple orange practice amps over the years and they were great. My Marshall is having a big fixed under warranty repair so I'm looking for something for at home for the month or so it's in the shop. It's gotta sound good clean though.

You can have a great guitar but a bad amp is going to make the sound bad as well. But you also have to take the guitars pickups into consideration. The amps he shows are some great ones. But if you're looking for a metal type sound Jackson, Ibanez, Shecter are all good guitar brands with very awsome guitars in their lower range.
fender champion 20 its not so good. I got one almost 2 years ago, and i so disappointed, the distortion istn any good, neither the Fx Level knob. The "voice" setup kind makes no sense. It has no switch button so you have to turn the knob if you want to use the clean channel or the distortion channel. As far as i´ve seen orange crush its waaay better. So im gettin one !

Doubt it it. The stages seem to transition when the knob hits a certain point vs the when the amount of volume from the input increases. I have the 20RT.
It's fine if you want to mic it . Also , the headphone out emulates 4x12. Good note on practice amps: 5w will fill your bedroom, 10w will bug the household, 20w will rock the neighbors, 50w you can charge for tickets
Put treble at 4 o'clock, bass at 2 o'clock. Also put the gain at least to 3 o'clock. Middle at 12 o'clock or a bit more. Those settings should give you a clear high end metal sound!
I played with this amp today and its not what I was expecting... In my opinion, the Line 6 slider is better than this one in distorsion. But the cleans on this orange are really good

It's nice too, but I'd say that the crush 20 is better. Crush 12 is really small in my opinion, and it's only suitable if you want to play in a small room or somewhere. Tone wise, they are pretty much similar

You can plug any pedal into any amp
yes but make sure you connect the dynaflow sensor to the flux capacitor first.
