On the Slash Epi Firebird QC was an issue so it took me sending one back to getting a quality one but I'm excited now. In comparison to my Gibson 07 NR Custom Shop Firebird 7 Mini Humbuckers, it doesn't sound as good as the Epi Slash Firebird but the CS has smoother playability. I play thru a 50 watt Mesa Single Rectifier solo head into a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab. Noel Gallagher owns two Nash Jazzmasters and a Strat. I've always wondered if they're actually made of used Fender parts, because they have the original Fender headstock and body shape.

    • @lauriedepaurie
      @lauriedepaurie 5 лет назад +3

      There's a lot of suppliers of bodies and necks that are licenced. Like musikraft/warmoth/allparts. All of which also do OEM work. These Nashes are -from what I know- basically glorified partscasters (which says nothing about their quality imho).

  • @charlesbolton8471

    Nash also has done relic Les Pauls. I don't think this is something that they are still doing as a company, but I have seen a couple in person and they were really nice. I think the relic jobs were done on the ones I've seen maybe 5 or 6 years ago, and guitars themselves were maybe 2011 or 2012 models. Price wise they were less expensive than a Gibson Custom Shop, but more expensive than a new Les Paul Standard. He completely refinishes the body and also changes the pickups and maybe the wiring as well.

  • @knuckles6044

    The blend knob traditionally is wired to the neck pickup and allows the neck to be added in positions 1and 2. As a professional guitar tech, I have done quite a few of these mods.

      Legit man. Modern fenders arent built the same, nor are they made in the same factory by the same people, nor do they sound like the original’s. Its like Picassos descendant copying his art work, mass producing it and selling it. All they would be doing is essentially making a Picasso in name only. Not acc producing an original piece. Td Fender is just as much of a copy as a japanese knock off strat. Based on what ive read even the custom shop isn’t what its promised to be and while theyre better than standard they still dont rly stand up to originals. And the ones that do are north of 8-9k. Besides i think the strat is more of an idea these days than a product.

  • @pffbh
    @pffbh 5 лет назад

    I bought a Nash strat in 05 before he went commercial. He took order over the phone. Med heavy relic with lollar blackface pickups. He wrote that info on underside of pick guard. No strips of shielding like I see here. That looked a little sloppy which makes me think that was done afterwords but I could be wrong. That guitar has naturally checked cause Nash doesn't do that process . My strat was checking nicely before I sold it. Nash sent me a fender logo water slides in case I wanted to use them. It was a great fake strat. I've owned a bunch of strats and this was one of the best.

    • @lauriedepaurie
      @lauriedepaurie 5 лет назад

      Funny story: the first stratocaster prototypes actually had bottom plates on all pickups.
      It changes the magnetic field of the pickup. Widening the response and slightly boosting the output (without adding icepick or heavily changing the tone). It's just a trick to make it sound less thin than bridge pickups usually sound...

    Yo Troglys, does it really have a Blender on the bottom Tone Pots? Does it really function well?
    Strat with Blender will work like this : 1 master volume, 1 master tone, and the bottom tone is the Blender pots.
    The Blender pots kind of functions as a on off switch for the neck pick up. The main reason for this Blender wiring is tryin to get the famous Tele tone on the middle position, both neck and bridge pick up on.
    So, with blender wiring, position 1 on the strat with the Blender on will bring the Bridge an Neck pick up on.
    Position 2 with Blender on will turn on all 3 pick up on.
    That is the benefit on havin a blender wiring on strat.
    To get traditional strat configuration ofvthe switch, just turn the Blender off.
    Please correct me if i'm wrong 👍🤘
    Anyway, greeting from ur fan from Indonesia. Love all your vids. Rock on

Yes the buckle rash can cause the back plate to break and wear the plastic down like that (knew a guy who broke his guitars' back plate from wearing one of those ridiculous buckles that caused that and had a similar wear pattern start developing )but Again you're talking about some major use of the guitar.like the Plastic broke in 1983 and it's 2001 level's of use for that level of wear.

    Noel Gallagher uses Nash instead of Fender Strats because he hates the feel of every Strat he's ever played except for 1960's Fenders.

    I have some guitars that have been with me for years. I've been picking at the same les paul special since '97. It's got scratches, dings and checking, but to make it look like this fake guitar i'd have to play it for 100 years and maybe leave it out in the rain for a few months for good measure.
    I have an ibanez RG that I bought in the 80s. I was drunk as fuck during those years and did things like break 3 whammy bars out of it, sent it right through a wall head first and even smashed a drum set with it - and it still looks like new next to this fake guitar.
    The plastic damage is completely over the top. I would actually laugh out loud if someone handed me that guitar.

    I'll never understand the whole relicing thing. I'm convinced it's a way music stores can continue to sell something as new, even though it's been on the floor for years. Who to say what's real wear and tear and what's fake, right?

    I am completely baffled as to why anyone would want a fake old looking guitar. You wouldn't scar up your girlfriend's face to make her look old and road worn. So WHY would you do that to a guitar?

    • @Les537

      Same reason people get tattoos. Cause it's cool, bro!
      I think of it like a car. Would you go into a car dealer and say, I like it, but can you relic it? Maybe key the doors and chip the windscreen - that would be awesome, bro!
      Relic guitars are for the moomoos.

    It's so shocking is how long Nash guitars has been in business and is clearly the worst Relic guitars on the market.... I have personally been able to check out about six or seven Nash's and thought only one look halfway decent but the overall consensus is that they play well and he uses lollar pickups which usually sound pretty damn good but as far as Relic goes there not authentic at all and Bill Nash claims to be a guitar restoration guy so to me that's even more puzzling
    This guitar is so half-ass it's truly disgusting but he charges 2 grand for this shitt ! I know Fender relics are a lot more expensive than everybody else but they truly do one of the best jobs out there and a few other guys
