I enjoyed your video and comparison thank you, I own a fender custom shop and now a nash s-63 and you are right you must play them and make your own decision, your explanation of many things between them was very helpful to all of us guitar lovers, thank you!
Suhr makes great guitars but does a terrible relic. Fender custom shop does a great relic. Very realistic looking. Personally I love my Nash guitars. Great tone and beautiful relics!
I forgot to add, I love both relics they both serve my purposes well, I cant say one is better than the other, but more people approach my nash headstock to read it than my fender, the fender logo is of course instant of what it is vs the nash which is not, I love it when folks ask about the nash and I proudly tell them as so with my fender, thanks again!!
I just bought a 2018 made one four months ago. I would’ve liked to have an older one with more convincing relicing and a rosewood fingerboard. However, the lacquer checking on the headstock has nice crackling and it plays very well . I have installed an Eric Clapton boost circuit in it and now I have no reason to change the pickups . I have not been a fan of the Tex mex pickups but the boost circuit makes a big difference. I also put on a bone nut , again , major improvement in tone. I had considered buying a custom shop 59 with the same aesthetics but it was $4300. And.. it was super sweet but having an arsenal of guitars I settled for the roadworn and I am sufficiently satisfied. I am thinking about rolling the fretboard edge because it is very square and would feel more comfortable as my American 2016 stratocaster does. I’m sure fender backed off the nicer relicing to keep up sales on the custom shop models. One day! Cheers!
they all look destroyed and missing something. None of them stand out as professionally done. Even the DYI. Most relics suck. Very hard to nail it just right.

I truly enjoyed this video and appreciate all that learned here. Thank you.
That Suhr is a beauty.

Suhr relic'ing is hit and miss..however, their fretwork and setup/hardware installation is better than Fender CS on average.
Nash Rules

Hi Joe! I’ve watched this video a few times over the years and wanted to ask which ones you still own and love? Thank you!
I love my Roadworn 60’s Strat. First year model. Plays like a dream and you don’t need to worry if it gets a ding.
I know! it's fantastic, affordable and very believable relic work
