Ohhh, I'm sure my 13-year-old Son would *love* that 'Sakurabu-burst' Strat! The guitar he felt drawn to the most while we were at a music store a while ago was a Squier Strat in a pale pink 😄
I NGD’d a Jr strat and an jr jazz master from this series. I did it for you all, and for being a tiny 5’5” fella that wears small gloves. I’m psyched! I have contemplated buying a warmoth 7/8ths strat body and neck for 6 years or so now but this solidified my curiosity in a smaller strat
Same! 24 inches is the sweet spot, in my opinion. Shorter and you lose the option of playing with 9 gauge strings. But 24 is still a “real” guitar. The 24in. scale teles from 2014 are impossible to find, so I’m very excited for this series!
Austin is a 24.75 "admirer. My first acoustic was on the same scale. My first electric guitar was 25.5 "and disgustingly heavy - in the LP weight class. I exchanged it for 24 ". All three were made in the Soviet area. For the next 43 years, my full support has always belonged to Mustang-like 24 "guitars. There's definitely a reason for enough string spacing on the bridge.Of course, Brian May's living example cannot be left out ...
Fyi, 24" scale are not new to Fenders, originally Jaguars and Mustangs were and still usually are 24" (Some mustangs can be 22"). 25,5" is great for string tension, but always looks a little bit big for me, i would love if my tele was 24,75 or even a full 24".
Hey Trogly, is there any chance at some point you could do a Dean ML? I know they’re not really your vibe but would love to see you document on if Dimebag’s guitars!
I’ve been begging for Fender to rerelease the short scale telecaster they did in 2014. So now they did it, with a SLIGHTLY smaller, weight-relieved body (which sounds perfect), in my favorite color daphne blue, and it’s Japan only? I’m glad I’ve since found happiness with my acoustasonic tele, because I can’t imagine hunting one of these Japan exclusives down. They’re perfect though! Hopefully they sound amazing, too. Only thing that would make them better is a gloss finish and Ebony fretboard, but I’m not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.
It's SO much better than the Alternate Reality run of Meteora's. Those felt cheap and the pickups were very flat sounding. This new one (which I got in Silverburst) is very versatile and a lot of fun to play.
24” on those guitars are perfect, same as a jaguar or mustang. Bet they’ll be great players and rly comfortable, definitely wanna see the tele short scale!
The bass is a full on short scale. I prefer the more modem sound of a short scale. Give the mustang bass is so popular I'm sure there would be a big market for these. If I did not pick up a Sire SS a couple of months back I may have given on these a go. As it stands my GAS for bass's is not on the same level as my guitar gear GAS.
What kind of Fingerboard is that for the Sakuraburst? Ebony or rosewood Yeah I was going to mention forwarding services. I've used them to buy stuff from countries that wouldn't ship to mine.
That’s very interesting a 24” scale length on a Stratocaster or whatever Model you choose. It figures that the Japanese would hold it hostage but totally makes sense. Thank you king Trog.
Thanks Austin, lots of fun watching you review the guitars. Looking forward to you next unboxing and tear down. I just bought a new Fender but the Gibson Les Paul is next on my purchase list for later this year, I must have one after watching you pump them up. I watched a video recently by Darrell Braun showing some separation in the neck near the bone nut, what's all that about? Did you cover this problem in a previous video? I'll go search your video to see if I can find anything on it. Darrell has two Gibson guitars with the identical problem. Take care.
That Belair Blue reminds me of the '62 Chevy Belair I had back in the day. White roof, blue everything else. Wasn't a fade but it tricked the eye into thinking it was. Good thing I am broke atm. I would be tempted to inflict it upon you to review. lol
I like the pink burst stratocaster the best, but I really don't care for the style of machine head's they're using on a lot of Fender Japan product's. A hardshell case is another option I wish they included. As for the Telecasters, I prefer a six saddle bridge. Still, it was a good video and fun to watch.
Some cool stuff... I'm not a Tele guy but that Tele custom in honey yellow and that bug pickguard is actually kind of cool looking. Wish Trogly could do a review on that one...
I think Fender were wise to evolve the meteora. With the Fireball humbuckers it is its own thing. Before it was just an odd-shaped Tele. I think it would have ended up a quirk in Fender's history. Now it has at least a shot at making its own mark.
Does anyone know of a showcase type show like this focused on fenders? I like watching these videos but I’m not a huge LP guy and I’d like someone who focuses on fender.
Im at tech at a guitar store and we have gotten 3 of the new meteora basses all with diffrent electronics issues. Sucks cause there super cool and play pretty well
Oh man I'm a short scale fanatic so the temptation to replace my Strat and Tele and get a JM all from this series is too much 😭 would be SO expensive to get from Japan though.
I want to say that the Olive Drab have been in the Exclusives section for a while and they just recently put marketing behind it. I’m on Gibson’s site almost daily, today they launched some 58 V single pickup artist model series of 3 V’s(not really a fan personally) and I had seen these on the site at least a week or more before they announced them. I remember thinking “what’s so special about Olive Drab?
Two normal humbuckers are a waste in the Meteora, they're not WRHB despite the offset poles so nothing special. I think the Meteora should have a Tele bridge and pup and a larger Vintera Wide Range Humbucker in neck. These are more like the original WRHB than the Player WRHB which is just a wax spaced normal size hb in a big cover. The Vintera WRHB version has everything the proper CuNiFe pup has, like reflector plates, but only uses Alnico magnets instead to reduce cost. That would make the Meteora special.
I'd love to try those made in Japan Strat juniors out! However it is only available for the Japanese market which is a shame:( They should start making Swedish models for Swedish market only xD
The new ones are in the Mexican made Player Plus series. Mexican made guitars at the price of entry level American made guitars. That’s not necessarily a bad thing and there has always been overlap at Fender with the highest priced Mexican guitars and the lowest priced American ones.
"You could buy it for your daughter" Uhh, yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm laying down a big pile of money for this guitar totally not for me, for my daughter. *awkward cough*
Ohhh, I'm sure my 13-year-old Son would *love* that 'Sakurabu-burst' Strat! The guitar he felt drawn to the most while we were at a music store a while ago was a Squier Strat in a pale pink 😄
Shell pink just grabs ya. Sitting by the pool playing surf guitar 😊
@Teelux - 😄👍
@@steveparish9210 - Nice! 😁⛱
I'm 53 and I'd rock it!! Never really figured out how to buy the Japanese Fenders, though.
@@markcheetah4960 - I'll be 53 this December myself 😊
SAKURA BURST..pretty cool looking guitar. Definitely interested.
Man that pink burst is right up your alley
Gotta do the Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster!
Cherry blossom inlays would have been reeeeaaaal nice
They made a Jazzmaster with a Jaguar scale. That’s pretty cool.
Ah yes my favorite color saku raba
Love the cherry blossom burst, Jr series too. Had a 3/4 size 1971 music master was a great guitar
I would love a Fender with some Katsushika Hokusai artwork on the body. I absolutely love his artwork.
Damn I legit need a short scale Fender Jazz Bass in my life 🤩
Fender Friday Tuesday
I NGD’d a Jr strat and an jr jazz master from this series. I did it for you all, and for being a tiny 5’5” fella that wears small gloves. I’m psyched! I have contemplated buying a warmoth 7/8ths strat body and neck for 6 years or so now but this solidified my curiosity in a smaller strat
Me: sweet I’d rock this guitar
Trogly: you could buy this for your daughter
Trogly's in the HOUSE!!!
Greg is in the HOUSE
Greg in the house
fender japan gets the coolest stuff
ok, but i really like belair blue
You really got me with that wacky pronounciation, I could see you actually saying that 😂
ditto.
Dit-toe
That Jazz is pretty cool. I'm an SG bass player so 30" is preferred!
I like how they converted the scale lengths for the junior series to the mustang bass and guitar scales.
I'd love to try the junior Strat

You need to make a video about the Gibson master artisan collection!
I agree. I hope he gets one.
I really think the Meteora in Silver burst is just super cool
I got one, it's great. The section when it goes from Black to silver has a slight dark brown tint to it which looks fantastic
"Sa-ku-RAH-boo-urst." You had me going there, Trog. (On a serious note...those short-scale J-basses, holy cow!)
1:08, Amen my man! Exactly my thoughts but that goes for every Fender guitar in my book. 😅
The Sakuraburst is kind of interesting. Sort of a cherry blossom play on the old Antigua Burst.
I might have to make some friends in Japan if Fender ever reissues the medium scale Jazz Bass
I tried to shop at the Fender Japan website, but couldn't figure it out. 😟
People sell those models on eBay, but at jacked up prices.
I would rock the pink strat. But what would make it look even better is cherry blossom 🌸 inlays.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but that honey yellow Tele reminds of an Ibanez Talman for some reason.
That 30” scale on the jazz bass is just a standard short scale, like the mustang, bronco, or some jaguars. Cool!
I didn’t get my notification today. I’m not happy about that.
Sakura burst is cool. Love the little guitars
😃 my cobain signature jaguar is 24"
Fyi, 24" scale are not new to Fenders, originally Jaguars and Mustangs were and still usually are 24" (Some mustangs can be 22"). 25,5" is great for string tension, but always looks a little bit big for me, i would love if my tele was 24,75 or even a full 24".
They make conversion scale necks
The Junior collection, Hybrid II, Traditional II and JV Modified series are available in other Asian countries too.
Can't wait to have a review of the Junior collection
"Note makers" Hahah I've not heard that before! Love it. I will have to use that in the future :)
Those Player Plus Meteora look good, but with matching headstock would look extra good.
That tele custom... beautiful
Owning a 24" whiteguard Esquire in faded Olympic (vintage) would be a dream come true. A fun companion for an oly white Jaguar.
That yellow tele gives me Les Paul junior vibes tbh
Hey Trogly, is there any chance at some point you could do a Dean ML? I know they’re not really your vibe but would love to see you document on if Dimebag’s guitars!
Nice to see some Fenders! Great show!
Hey Trogly! did you secured a super 58 flying V yet??
I wonder what those cost? Big big bucks I bet. Don't even have price on Gibson site, have to call Gibson garage
@@steveparish9210 My Guess is 20 to 30k. Totally out of my budget, but sure they look Amazing.
That Sakuraburst would be even prettier with some MOTO pickguard and tuning tips.

I actually prefer the new meteora to the original run. i think it would look great with a mustang or jag/jazz trem system
It's SO much better than the Alternate Reality run of Meteora's. Those felt cheap and the pickups were very flat sounding. This new one (which I got in Silverburst) is very versatile and a lot of fun to play.

Cosmic Jade looks nice
I’d love a review on the meteora
24” on those guitars are perfect, same as a jaguar or mustang. Bet they’ll be great players and rly comfortable, definitely wanna see the tele short scale!
I always wanted a strat with a short mustang neck. Seems like I have to figure out how to import one
Wow, that honey yellow really gave me Ablert Collins vibes. Super sweet. Hipe you buy it.

Basically a classic vibe but richer
Man, why does Japan always get the cool exclusives.
for real! exclusive games and now guitars too
wow, that sakura burst looks really cool. The juniors look great too. The jade green Meteora looks so unique.
I like the way you said it cause it reminds me of the mma legend and the Naruto thing also made sense considering
Hi Austin, Check out Nile Rodgers Hitmaker by Fender and of course the new Gibson Leo Scala.
Are u plan to do a revue on the 2022 Fender Player Plus Meteora HH ?
You could always turn the canvas caster into one of the interactions of the Telecaster jimmy Page was gifted and then made his own.
"Sakura" means Cherry Blossom, the most beautiful are found in Japan. So this finish would be called "Cherry Blossom Burst", or "Sakura - Burst".

The short scale strat in a hardtail with a shawbucker and a pair of high output alnico 5's would be interesting. If the price was decent
Who painted the tele at minute 02:50? With the guy and the cat and stuff? It´s awesome!
Dream guitar came through via japan
bro they way u said sakuraburst im dead
Great video thanks
I really want that Card Captor Sakuracaster
Fender Japan made 24" Strats and 30"-ish Jazz Basses since the '90s, I wonder what kind of differences there are over the years.
That Belair Blue reminds me of the '62 Chevy Belair I had back in the day. White roof, blue everything else. Wasn't a fade but it tricked the eye into thinking it was. Good thing I am broke atm. I would be tempted to inflict it upon you to review. lol

My local dealer has a 90's mij Fender mini telecaster. Would've bought it but neck had a bad bow and there was no truss rod.
my first guitar was a 3/4 fender strat. my son's first guitar is a 3/4 squire strat.
Troglio the guitario
Some cool stuff... I'm not a Tele guy but that Tele custom in honey yellow and that bug pickguard is actually kind of cool looking. Wish Trogly could do a review on that one...
Those Junior basses are the same scale length as Hofner Beatle basses. Cool.
I think Fender were wise to evolve the meteora. With the Fireball humbuckers it is its own thing. Before it was just an odd-shaped Tele. I think it would have ended up a quirk in Fender's history. Now it has at least a shot at making its own mark.

The 9.45" radius is probably because they go by millimeters in Japan.
