I like this, because most 8 and 16 bit 'de-makes' or arrangements of newer game songs generally sound bad because the composer goes out of their way to try and make them sound as primitive as possible without taking into account the vast improvement in sound quality throughout the life cycle of the NES/SNES. This SOUNDS like a late-era SNES title, and an incredible one at that. Hats off to you!
The fact such an underrated song could become even more badass than it was in the actual game is astounding. FF6 soundfont remixes are indeed my favorite.
I think this song was actually more appropriate for the Northern Cave in FF7 than Kefka's Tower in FF6. Don't get me wrong, I can totally imagine it being used for Kefka's Tower, but if you think about it, this song sort of has a tone of "We have a limited time to finish this," which was certainly true in FF7. Meteor hadn't hit the Planet yet, but it was about to; humanity's final hour was approaching. That's the sense the characters would have gotten of needing to hurry and defeat Sephiroth before the world ended. In FF6, the world had already been ruined, Kefka was already all-powerful, and the tone was "Now's the time to end this" after having done a bunch of other stuff (like re-finding all your characters). The actual Kefka's Tower theme fit that perfectly.
Honestly this sounds like a “now’s the time to end this” theme. In a world of despair and ruin, the characters have some hope to put an end to Kefka’s reign, even though the world won’t be fixed of course. So I guess different context?
@@pkmemes01 Beta versions started on the SNES it was never gonna be on the N64 because of the cartridges they did tech demos on the N64 to see what it was capable of but the memory limitations of carts axed any possibility of it being on the N64
You know a remix is faithful to the original when the exact same part of the song that gave you shivers in the original has the same effect in this - 1:23 - 1:52 gets me every time - Great work!
@DarkSonicSrb2 I know! This song doesn't get alot of attention. I agree, it sounds very cool in this sound engine. As much as I loved VI, the final area theme just wasn't as good as this. (Although dancing mad > one winged angel)
@DLane814 It's as he said, Judgment Day > JENOVA > Jenova Absolute > Those Chosen by the Planet > Birth of a God > One-Winged Angel > Those Chosen by the Planet > etc etc he did most of those.
@DLane814 I believe I already did that one months ago. I didn't know it was called Jenova Complete, I called it Jenova Absolute I think. I'm bad at titles :P
Dude....It's almost like they cut this song in the final build of FFVI, because it fits this game 10 times more. It's got Kefka madness all over it. This song always did kinda make me think of Kefka, not Sephiroth....Funny how that works eh?
how does uematsu do it.its as if they said to him "nobby write us a song for the final descent into a cavern. make it so its kind of tense like the whole world is relying on you to kill sephiroth. and theres bits of lifestream everywhere.and add in a touch of excitement while yer at it"

What a hidden gem. Shame that this guy doesn't make music anymore

Sounds like an awesome spaniard war anthem, amazing job on the music. My favorite track from FF7.
I can see this soundtrack definitely working also for the final siege on Kefka's tower.
I would love for this to be extended
This is truly a work of art
Sounds glorious my friend. This is the fanbase teamup we've all been waiting for
Love it!

Couldn't have said it better man
Perfect

Don't forget that Aerith's leitmotif is present in the song
Is it me or it actually sounds better than with the original ff7 soundfont?
It is better.
Way better.
Stéphane Cormier too farty for my taste
But there are some nice parts as well
@@Piranesi-gc8gn Could do without the breaths
i agree
They said that Final Fantasy VII was originally supposed to be on the SNES in 1994.
Mateoski I thought it was the N64

@@LionessPaladin ohhh ok, thank you for telling me this.
This is absolutely amazing!! I think I like it better than the original..... :O

WolfieVII 0:51 gives me shivers
Nice work Shakey Jake, wibble wobble, yum yum.
Judgement day is such a good tune.
This works so well. :o
Great stuff, as always!

Awesome.
Wow. Really good stuff.
Kefka's Tower, perhaps? If injecting SPC files were easier to do, I'd do it for the last dungeon.
Sounds better than the original!
Check out My Judgement Day Cover as well.
@CakeJarey It's called JENOVA Absolute. It may be called something different in other regions though.
@DartUchiha Yeah, it's called by that name at least over here in the US
this is great

Terra vs. Jenova! :D
Im in Love
Yes.
Did I find another jam I fell in love with?
Another question : how did you make this? I was wondering what is the best way to make songs with the FF6 soundfont.
nice

Tragamin06 he's really skilled at accurately portraying the emotion of the situation that the player is in.
@VShalak It's called Judgement Day? Alright I shall fix it, thanks!
Hmm.....Northern Crater and Birth of a God.......Are we building up to JENOVA Complete by chance?
This just proves how much better Sephiroth was when he was Kefka
idk doesnt feel that epic with the notes not being so loud
THAT IS STOLEN FROM FINAL FANTSY VII!!!!!!!!!!
