I'm not a system play, i am the system - James Harden (but it only applies to Messi in football tbh) You can make a case for some other players, but I've never seen a club so dependant on one man for so long

this term has lost all meaning at this point, it's just used by fans of an inferior team to insult their raivel's players, heard people say that Grimaldo wouldn't play as well in a team other than byer to downplay his season at byer , that's just stupid man😷
More credit should be given to Perez and Real Madrid as they have contingencies for every player in the system as well if there is a managerial change. Barcelona suffered post neymar due to reckless spending on replacements who didnt fit with the system in place after Luis Enrique left, entering the Valverde era and post messi because they were limited financially so having to rely on loans, free transfers and youth was not going to result in any success immediately. Bayern is on the path barcelona was on with no succession plans which became evidant this year. If Liverpool find any success post Klopp then it shows its more to do with the club hierarchy then any player.
Folks calling Messi a system player are Ronaldo fans itching for anything to detract from his greatness inevitably they will realize how nonsensical their arguments are.
Trent Is not one of those 'system players' to me. I think basically any top manager would adapt and build their system somewhat around Trent in the way that Klopp has. The main grip I have with the system player tag for most people is that is doesn't really exist, Zinchenko isn't a system player to me because if he played at a lower level like in serie A or something he would become a midfielder and become a great on ball threat in tight spaces like he is for Ukraine.
Grealish could be considered a systemplayer at Man City. He is mainly there to create space for others by stretching field and pulling defenders with his runs. People say he fell of, but i think Pep is pretty pleased with him.
Foden MIGHT be a system player. His role is ultra specialised to him, he’s not an out n out winger nor does he have the creative abilities to be a 10 The only thing that I do think stops him from being a system player is that for a handful of clubs I see him doing well at (arsenal, Bayern & Leverkusen). But so far when he’s played as a pure LW he struggles both for city and england
People say foden is a system player but being that system player helped city win the league At england they so defensive and that obviously doesnt help his playstyle
Sorry but there is everything wrong with being a cog in the wheel. Stop making system players the norm. Certain positions should have system players (like CMs and DMs), but not all positions need players that get cooked the moment they are asked to do things slightly differently.
@BrotherBernard-yy4yd and I remember people calling pessi for scoring to many penalties at the world cup. And let's be honest. The reason messi won the Copa America is because Brazil him to win it.
@@ikghaize7273 the only reason PSG got through round of 16 is because they faced sociedad and not a legit team And as far as penalties are concerned , you shouldn’t be the one talking since your idol would not have a career if it was not for penalties 😂
Milan were really poor before Zlatan came back. Ik he's really overconfident but if Ronaldo went to one of the top 5 leagues when he was 38 , and lifted them so much that they won the league, no one would stop talking about it.
i think messi is an exception. he can basically play great as any forward as long as he plays deep
That’s basically saying he’s great when he can do whatever he wants not when he sticks to that position
6 ligue 1 goals prove otherwise lol

I feel like Harry Maguire fits this. Great for Leicester and England when applied in a low block, but doesn’t work in a more expansive style of play

So, in other words, you're saying Ronald is better than messi. Ronaldo played in multiple teams and worked out
Nah , he just got his stats to where he wanted
He still failed at juventus , Man United and now at Al Nassr
And let’s not talk about Portugal 😂😂😂😂
