Not true that only one player could walk into any team and start. Every team has more than one midfielder, or one centerback. Well that’s why the meaning of the word “world class” is subjective. You might feel like “world class” can include any elite player while someone else might think it should only include the highest tier of those elite players. It’s why it’s hard to really argue with anybody unless they make a REALLY outrageous claim
@@mandafrombk I’m going with your definition which is the top 3 players of a given position would be considered world class. Which I could understand, up until you said a particular position might not be as stacked as another. Which I think over complicates your definition and compares variables (positions) that don’t need to be compared. Cause what you’d have to then do is find the top 3 players of the most stacked position and only they can be considered world class.
@@rustyscrew5776 That’s not MY definition, I said “I think it would be better.” Later on in the video I said I don’t have a definition, just “vague criteria” cuz defining it is pointless and hard.

@@truenoae8689 you saying he’s borderline means it’s ok for me to say he’s not world class. He doesn’t have a set position where he’s world class in, yes he’s versatile but it doesn’t make him world class. @@truenoae8689 I don’t think he is, which would explain why he doesn’t play there for club or country. He’s been playing there this season for city but he hasn’t been all that impressive. His goals and assists are also boosted cause he’s always been on the better team than Saka. Btw, I like Foden but I just don’t think he’s world class.
Massive recency bias going on here tho. A player has a hot n cold start to this season n he's not world class but a player has a great start and he is world class. Need to incorporate a bit longer than 4 months
You talking about Sane and Van Dijk? For Van Dijk he’s had a hot start but he was already a world class player for numerous years before, he just had a short rough patch and injury problems. Him getting back to what was his regular form for the first (almost) half of the season justifies him being world class imo. Sane? I could see where you’re coming from. He was good for Bayern the first years but had problems finishing. Dis season was the first time he’s played at a world class level for them so I won’t argue wit you on recency bias for dat one. As for the opposite, there’s players who’ve been hot and cold dat I still put in world class (Dias for example). Odegaard has been bad pretty often so far but I never thought he reached world class in the first place, him having a bad start just added on to it Kimmich I did base it mostly off his poor start I won’t lie
Ter Stegan isn't world class. It's all part of another category. You have to also be playing at the top of football. Stegan hasn't, constantly out of the UCL with Barca way too early and is inconsistent at league level. Trippier is world class, even more than any of the RBs you mentioned imo. Davies is too inconsistent in his defensive duties, to be considered wc imo. And I'd actually put Rodygo ahead of Leao in the WC cat tbh. Awesome video anyways....
i feel like barella and lautaro would make world class, barella has not had a good start but his impact to the team is insane, lautaro as well but i think marcus thuram has been better than him this season
Imo world class means being top 3 in your position for 3 or more seasons in a row. There are a lot of players who are insanely good for 1 season then drop off massively the next but still get world class shouts because of what the could do, it shouldnt be like that.
When I said top 3 I meant top 3 is better than top 5 if your definition is based on a top number of players per position. My definition isn’t really based on dat, I don’t really have a set definition since there’s too many clashing factors
4:20 tf are you smoking? Alaba won the CL in its first season and is a Bayern legend and this year Rudiger and Carvajal have been the best on defense. But it's expected from a premier league fanatic who didn't even mention Carvajal for the RB position yet mention Trippier, who is a monster but nowhere near world-class... De leigt and Kim are nowhere near world-class. Kim basically has 1 great season with Napoli and half of this one. Upamecano bro ... the same guy that made 2 errors last season on a CL crucial match vs City... You want to explain what world-class means yet you are mentioning players who aren't even world-class, just simply class, smh
We’re talking about right now. Alaba was easily a world class player for most of his career. Right now though it’s debatable whether he’s world class ANYMORE, he’s still great but he’s slightly declined. When you’re talking about world class players AT THE MOMENT the MAIN time frame you should use as a reference is the last couple years or so (in my opinion). If they played at a world class level a few years ago but their recent performances have been of lesser quality it starts turning into “They WERE world class.”
I would say if you haven't grown up on the streets with a ball at your feet every free hour you have, and played the game in teams, you're not going to understand the game. Watching football doesn't mean you know about football. Most people who watch have no idea what they are seeing, regardless of what they might think. Anyone reading this will know where they stand in that, and whether they agree or not with what I said, it's just a matter of fact. World class came from discussions of who were the best in the world. If you are the best in a position, you're world class because you'd get into a world XI.
Cancelo I don’t think so anymore. Couple seasons ago? I’d say yeah. Don’t get me wrong he’s still elite but he was goin through a slight rough patch which I think was part of what started the whole beef wit Pep in the first place and then after that I honestly don’t think he ever reached world class level again. Usually top tier players that have locker room issues can outplay their attitude but Cancelo hasn’t been able to. He was good for Bayern and he’s been REALLY good for Barcelona though, so I’m not sayin it’s not possible for him to reach world class again. Gundo is in that bracket of players that’s never been top of the top but he’s been elite for a while so callin him world class is fine in my opinion 🤷🏾 I respect it
Ngl i think Rodrygo is world class he's definitely top 3 wingers in laliga and when it comes to finishing ability he is better than vini, He's a more efficient winger than Vini and definitely more clutch vini is better overrall but Rodrygo is world class imo and he is even younger than him
No, moreso insinuating dat he’s been elite or better most of his career but there’s always been a players a tier above him besides the one season he won the ballon D’or (Even if you exclude Messi or Ronaldo) There’s definitely a couple seasons I’d say he was the best midfielder in the world and for most of his career he was definitively world class

No Cristiano because of where he plays but KDB can be injured and without a doubt make the list?? Bet
World class means the player consistently performs at a rating of 91/ 100
Not a single player consistently gets this high of a rating.
@@JordieDH well then they are not world class,it is reserved for an elite few, rodri is someone who meets this criteria week in week out
Allison and van diyk of Liverpool also perform at this level week in week out
@@jon.tarboctarbock1172 Rodri has not had a 9.1 rating this season once. His highest is 9.01, then he got 2 in the mid 8s and the rest are below 8s
You don’t know ball
@@JordieDH well I have my own rating system where an average performance would be 83 to 86 much like people rate wine
0:43 No sir, I do not feel what you are saying. It’s near impossible for there not to be elite players in any given position at any given time in the world. It just doesn’t make sense. Especially if you narrow the definition of world class to just 3 players in the position. Rant done.

Maignan might already be there, made some awesome saves in Euro qualifying. Dovbyk, Szoboszlai, Sesko will soon be in the conversation.
Agree with most of your list but Bernardo Silva and Foden are glaring omissions
Bernardo is, Foden isn’t
@@r.i.psteez929 If you say Sakas world class you can't say Fodens not at least borderline. Saka is playing better right now but overall they've been neck and neck. Actually Foden has more goals in less prem games despite being an attacking mid not a winger.
@@truenoae8689 you saying he’s borderline means it’s ok for me to say he’s not world class. He doesn’t have a set position where he’s world class in, yes he’s versatile but it doesn’t make him world class. Bernardo silva for example is world class at right wing AND midfield, Saka is world class at right wing. Foden is just good in every position he plays but not world class.
@@r.i.psteez929 he's world class as a left sided 8 or 10. Not his fault that because he's versatile he usually plays out of position
Hakimi definitely is not world class. For me he’s barely a borderline player
Understandable, I do believe Hakimi is around a Trippier tier player so he’s right around the cusp. He has been consistently elite though
Now you're just talking shit
@@mandafrombkhakimi is so unbelievably mediocre and overrated.

I believe that world class is among the best in the world at their position, (defender, midfielder or attacker)
Odegaard has been bad pretty often so far but I never thought he reached world class in the first place, him having a bad start just added on to it
Kimmich I did base it mostly off his poor start I won’t lie
I wonder where Kante would be without that injury last season
camavinga left the chat
Yes, he tweaked real hard by leaving out camavinga
cool video bro I like your takes
Ter Stegan isn't world class. It's all part of another category. You have to also be playing at the top of football. Stegan hasn't, constantly out of the UCL with Barca way too early and is inconsistent at league level.
Trippier is world class, even more than any of the RBs you mentioned imo.
Davies is too inconsistent in his defensive duties, to be considered wc imo.
And I'd actually put Rodygo ahead of Leao in the WC cat tbh.
Awesome video anyways....
Forgot Grimaldo exists
No Carvajal? Modric, Kroos, B.Silva, Fede, Konate, Maddison?
Carvajal has been by far the best rb of the last couple years and hes not even mentioned?
alaba struggled but nah rudiger has been good this season
i feel like barella and lautaro would make world class, barella has not had a good start but his impact to the team is insane, lautaro as well but i think marcus thuram has been better than him this season
Imo world class means being top 3 in your position for 3 or more seasons in a row. There are a lot of players who are insanely good for 1 season then drop off massively the next but still get world class shouts because of what the could do, it shouldnt be like that.
this is pretty good but you said world class is about top 3 and named a lot of players per position
You forgot Robertson and Cancelo
Robertson from liverpool? 😂
Musiala carried a very bad Germany in the World Cup, if that doesn't qualify him for world class, I don't know what does
Sick vid, mostly agreed and even the ones i didnt, i see where you're coming from
a player that performs at the highest level and is always consistent every season,
Buy that logic you could say Messi isn't world class rn.
Cancelo and Gundo?
Cancelo I don’t think so anymore. Couple seasons ago? I’d say yeah. Don’t get me wrong he’s still elite but he was goin through a slight rough patch which I think was part of what started the whole beef wit Pep in the first place and then after that I honestly don’t think he ever reached world class level again.
Usually top tier players that have locker room issues can outplay their attitude but Cancelo hasn’t been able to. He was good for Bayern and he’s been REALLY good for Barcelona though, so I’m not sayin it’s not possible for him to reach world class again.
Gundo is in that bracket of players that’s never been top of the top but he’s been elite for a while so callin him world class is fine in my opinion 🤷🏾 I respect it
Nah bro you definitely ain’t been watching rudiger with that take😂😂
Look at his pinned comment on this video
Only disagree with the fact u missed out joao cancelo
Talks about trent but not Cancelo
Robertson??!!
Goated fact-based opinion.
I disagree on de Jong and musiala, you forgot ederson and cancelo
Ngl i think Rodrygo is world class he's definitely top 3 wingers in laliga and when it comes to finishing ability he is better than vini, He's a more efficient winger than Vini and definitely more clutch vini is better overrall but Rodrygo is world class imo and he is even younger than him
I hope you weren't insinuating that modric has never been best in his position.
No, moreso insinuating dat he’s been elite or better most of his career but there’s always been a players a tier above him besides the one season he won the ballon D’or (Even if you exclude Messi or Ronaldo)
There’s definitely a couple seasons I’d say he was the best midfielder in the world and for most of his career he was definitively world class
Dimarco is 100% world class
4:28 yessss
Bro joao cancels is also world class
Nah,
I agree arsenal better open up that cheque book for osimen 😅😅😅😅
Bro how you can forget about camavinga?? easily the best dm
He doesn't watch Real Madrid. It's pretty evident from the video. You are correct about Camavinga.
Best DM?
I don't think Real Madrd will lose a game if Camavinga does not play. But Man City has lost games because of the absence of Rodri.
Rodri and Rice are up there.
Camavinga, Partey and the rest great DMs are borderline.
@@sammybloom5818 bro you clearly have limited ball knowledge. The difference between madrid with and without camavinga is enormous. There are games where gamavinga gets subbed in and they make a comeback search it up

Camavinga is world class since he entered the real squad
Bruno’s mannerisms are very disliking but he’s world class. He shines EVEN MORE for a team that’s better built and a more well-run club. United is just shit
Frenkie de Jong is 100% word class and so is Odegaard
its obviously just the players rated 90+ on fifa (joking)

Now you're talking out your ass buddy Saudi league is home to great players Like Mane, Talisca, Fofana, Neyamar, Maximin, firminho, Carrasco, Mahrez, Kante, Benzema, Nevez, Khoulibaly, Bonou etc. My point is Ronaldo is playing against top tier players and that spectacular wc run that messi had was year ago lol. He has Alba and Busquets and still struggling to score..... where as Ronaldo isn't even on the best team and is balling. yall people like to talk about the saudi league without watching the people play...
