Impressed by the historical research that was put into this video! Well done!
My great grandfather worked as a yo-yo master for first Flores and then Duncan when he came to America from the Philippines. I have a picture of him performing with the yo-yo wearing Flores Yo-yo shirt.
Yes, this is the incredibly niche and super specific YT video I have been searching for. THANK YOU!
It’s videos like this that make me glad the internet exists
The Yo-Yo's were a lot bigger, Filipino Warriors used to bring them up trees and they would drop them on peoples heads. Tactics like these and many more like using bamboo snorkels to hide in shallow waters then spring on the enemy were used in warfare.
Thanks Flores!!! All it took was one dream, and the rest is history.
HELLO, WHERE CAN I BUY A YOYO AT ? JOHN FROM NORTH CAROLINA , PLEASE REPLY, THANKS .
is it ethical to use relatively recent photos of indigenous peoples to represent the “ancient” philippines 😬
Eh it doesn't matter, I'm a half blood Filipina . I see no offense. Besides there aren't many drawings or paintings of my ancestors anyway.
Oldest yo-yo was found in Greece js
