Police Bodycam Footage Shows Chase and Arrest of a Drive-By Shooting Suspect

Seattle, Washington - On November 22nd, 2023, Seattle Police with the assistance of King County Sheriff’s Office air support pursued and apprehended a drive-by shooting suspect. Shortly after 2:00 p.m., near the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Lucille Street, police located a vehicle suspected to be involved in a drive-by shooting. The vehicle was reported stolen and was also associated with a reported burglary. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it took off at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle and eventually stopped the pursuit using a PIT maneuver in the 900 block of Airport Way South. The male suspect was taken into custody and a female passenger was identified and released. No injuries were reported. Officers recovered multiple firearms from the vehicle. Three dogs were also in the vehicle and were uninjured. The 32-year-old male suspect was be booked into King County Jail for investigation of drive-by shooting, eluding, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

It depends on the seriousness of the crime committed. A pit maneuver is considered deadly force / a felony stop. If all police solidly have are like, a lane infraction or tail light out and the suspect runs, it makes justifying deadly force difficult.
This is Seattle, I am surprised they even bothered, they will be back on the streets before the end of the shift.

Why is this question always asked? Just because the judges refuse to do their job doesn't mean the cops will too. There's also a chance they'll try to fight back and then the cops can neutralize the threat for good in that case. And we need arrests to be made to bring the problem into public eye if we ever want things to change. Or would you rather just have complete lawlessness?
