Car Payments on ALL 5 of My Cars: Past and Present: ruclips.net/video/K8TOG96O5Vc/видео.html

Heres the thing.......I just bought a brand new M340i Xdrive about 71K dollars brand new fully optioned. I am 55 years old and have a clean driving record my insurance will be about $150 a month. I will be putting down about 45K and financing about 25K at 1.9 finance rate for a payment of about $500 a month for 48 months. OK here is where you have to listen up. If you have kids or a wife or anyone who may depend on you for financial support then you have no business buying a fancy car simply to have fun. If you are able to pay all your obligations and take care of all the bills and simply want to blow money to have some fun then you are ok. My brother has 2 kids and his selfish habits means that his family will go without some things they need because he wants to try to be a big shot. So in a nutshell is your car causing you to take away from people you love or family then you should not have the car. If it is not causing any hardships.....live it up.

Well put. 52YO here. Family of 4, 2 teenagers. Home and rentals all paid off, worth about $4M in the SF Bay Area. I would never ever put cars before my family. If i can’t afford a car in cash quadruple its OTD price, I would not consider it. Just bought my wife a new Lexus NX350h, $52k paid in full. Here high line cars are dime a dozen, where you live is more important.

@@SBM200612Yeah, that’s one of my rules. Whatever car I want to buy I make sure I’m able to “touch it.” Meaning, if I can’t easily work on it it’s a no-go. I have a friend who bought an Audi… he hates that thing with a passion. It’s always breaking, and doing most work on it requires an engine out job, or requires that the entire front be pulled out.

I feel you man, I have a 2024 BMW M4 Competition and I pay $1400 a month. With all the options I selected, it came out to just over 100k. I put down 20k, so I'm financing 80. I'm more than good financially to make the payments, but it's still wild. Between my car and the wife's we're paying just over $200 for insurance. Still definitely worth it to me. I've had it for a year and can't get enough of it.

I appreciate your honesty, I subscribe to a lot of the well-known car youtubers, but you, young man, is by far one that I will keep on following. Listen, I used to walk in dealerships and buy cars right off the showroom floor and experiencing that rush just can’t be explained. However, I too lost everything due to many factors but was able with the blessings of my GOD to stabilize a new beginning. I’m back with a better understanding of money, wealth, investing, and priorities. House, 1 car, no car payment, couple streams of income, and looking forward to retirement…and most of all having the freedom to go, stay, eat, take days off, share…and the most important thing of all…to give to my family spiritually and financially. Like one well known car Utuber say… you got to keep on the grind…Your approach to this thing has great potential…keep on you grind young man…

See the thing is just saying your car payment is not the full story. What would give people better insight is how much you put down, did you trade a car in for the bmw? Did you lease or finance? If so, what term? Leasing? 36 or 48 months. Financing 36 months? 60 months? 72? What Apr did you receive? What was your credit score when you got the car….when did u buy the car? What year?these things give a better picture and can help others in terms of having a more realistic baseline as to what cars cost n what it takes to drive them….

No one will listen but I drove a Honda in college and kept the same car. I invested that money working afree and only worked 8 years in my life and retired. All that money on an expensive car, insurance, maintenance etc probably costing 40 years of work in the future. Honda Accord manual, decent space, no payments, no maintenance cost besides battery, oil changes, tires, good on gas, just cheap liability insurance which is $30 a month. No stupid subscriptions, fancy clothes etc. Now I’ve got all the time to live, no alarm, no rush, no stress of work, commute. You’re trading your life (life is basically your limited time here the only valuable currency that matters is time) for a car. Guess what a job does, it’s bad for your health and takes your time.

I’ve seen countless comments of people asking for the details. Maybe the person is inspired and asks but most say they don’t feel comfortable - which btw is their business/choice. I think it depends on the person. I don’t disclose my salary but some people will volunteer theirs to me. 😂

Sick intro man. Car payments are relative to income imo, I don't think that your combined car payments + insurance should be more than 10% of the household income, so if you're clearing $15k a month, then im all for it brother. If you're only making 6k and spend 2k on the car a month, that's stupid. If you're investing less a month than your car payment+running costs, thats stupid. If youve a sick car but rent in the hood, thats stupid. You get the point

Thankfully, I got one of the last BMWs before they became over complicated and unfixable so I wouldn’t want a new one even if it were free.

I got a story for you. I bought a used 2003 Porsche 911 around 10 years ago, turned into a money pit. It cost me $15k cash. I remember having my hard earned cash in one hand, and my cell phone in the other. Should I call the guy or invest it all into Bitcoin. I bought car. That was the dumbest decision I ever made in my life. I could have bought 10 Bitcoin at the time. Do the math, Bitcoin is $93K today. That’s $930,000.00. I could have bought a super nice new Porsche 911 today, and had $800k left over. Do yourself a favor, sell that car and invest in the stock market. With patience in a few years, you can get the hottest car of your dreams, and walk in an pay cash. You are still a young man. Think about it. Good luck to you! 🎉

Let me leave a comment for all the idiots and financial "experts" in the comment section. Nowhere in this video does it say I cannot afford my car. Most of you have short attention spans or probably just look at the title or watch halfway and started to make assumptions. I didn't lose money because of the car. I lost money because a source of income was lost (as indicated in the video). Not only can I still pay for my car, I am a content creator and I make income from these videos. Also, someone pointed out that the fact that I said I can't stop working is what gave the impression I can't afford my car. No fam, I can't stop working because I want more, always will. Being a car enthusiast and being financially irresponsible are two different things. You assume that because I don't think like you I'm not a car enthusiast? Lots of financially smart enthusiasts.

Why couldn't you keep the reply in your same thread lol. makes it hard to follow the convo. But anyway, My point is, based on your original comment, your advice is good generic advice, however, it does not apply to me or would help me in any way as you are not ware of several factors not mentioned in this video. a $1200 car payment to YOU is insane based on your priorities. To me, it's fine based on my total income. Also did you watch the whole vid, I don't have issues making the payment for the car

I was like that at one point...
Then i realized i can travel every single month, get bad 304s and still have money left over. Every single month.
After about 3 months of a new car, i get bored and feel regret...
Now i ebike to work, if i want a fly wip for a weekend.. Turo..
I also spend all the extra money on Buying fly tech for my house.
If i didn't feel like doing anything or buying anything, just save that extra money. Not forced to make a payment.
Don't get me wrong, i love cars, but i love money and 304s more😂

I'm a content creator. My cars make me money from the several RUclips videos on my channel. Even if I was not a content creator, I would still buy the car :). Only REAL lovers would understand. Thanks for your feedback! =)

I can’t stand non M cars with the M badge. lol I pay less for my F90 M5 ($750) a month. Your credit must suck or the dealership ripped you off

My credit score was over 700 and no, it was not a ripoff. My deal was pretty decent. Also, there are a lot of factors that affect payments (down payment, post/pre covid, extras, etc. don’t ASSume

$1,200 a month for a car payment is insane. Imagine if you had a $500 payment and saved $700 a month.. you own a rapidly depreciating asset.

    • @NigelDRealest
      @NigelDRealest  24 дня назад

The thing is, for $500, I won't have the car I want. If you are not a car enthusiast like me, I don't expect you to understand, and that's ok. Also, I make money back from my several RUclips videos on the car (FYI). But good feedback, thanks!
