Great vid! I do wanna offer one small piece of advice in regards to the Crusader's Relics: The armor stand in the priory, where you find the cuirass, acts as a 'storage' for all of them when you aren't using the relics. It also has an unspoken (and perhaps unintended) effect of being a 'reset' of them as well: Whenever you activate the armor stand to get the items back, the game recalculates them, giving you completely repaired, recharged, and releveled items that match your level and skills, including possibly making them light armor if that is your higher skill at that point (heavy armor takes priority in a tie).
That... is an honestly cool unintended feature that might make me wanna play Oblivion as a Paladin again. (I was dumbo and didn't know about the Crusader's Relics when I played it on Xbox.)

About the "unfeathered" thing: According to a tale by the poet and explorer Topal the Pilot, there actually were a species of birdmen living in Cyrodiil in what is now known as the City Isle. According to the legend, when Topal and his crew arrived on the island, they learned that the birdmen could mimic the Ayleid language but did not actually understand the meaning of the words. There are a number of obligate air breathing fish, typically those whose natural habitats are oxygen-poor. Fish like betas and gouramis have a pseudo lung (pretty sure it's called the labyrinth organ, but I'm too lazy to confirm that) because they typically spawn in short-lived pools of water. Then there's the lungfish, which, as the name suggests, has lungs and must breathe air. Plenty of fish can breathe air in addition to water, as well, like walking catfish and snakeheads, which utilize that ability by moving from one body of water to another if conditions fall out of their favor. In the case of the snakehead, it's typically after they've eaten everything in that body of water and, due to their particular adaptations, has made them a literally invasive species in the US. Pretty hard to stop a fish from walking from one pond to another, so they've slowly been clambering their way into new territory on their strong pectoral fins.

Regarding wandering Skyrim vs Oblivion, for me, I played Skyrim so much when it came out that wandering around the world became just a series of markers. I'd started recognizing everything too well, and taking the roads from place to pace was like checking off a list, and even going off road there was still so many recognizable points close together. It made the world feel smaller and artificial to me. I did enjoy my time with Skyrim, but I've had no desire to play it again since then. I enjoy wandering Oblivion's wilderness if only because it feels like wandering through a forest painting, and I enjoy Oblivion's aesthetics. Oblivion was the first Elder Scrolls game I played when it came out, so I guess I'm nostalgically attached to it. Not too attached though, because I'm a little salty after playing Morrowind and reading MW and Redguard lore and realising we could have had a more interesting Cyrodiil to run around and experience. For future reference, if the Oblivion engine is anything like other Bethesda game engines (lol) you can write a text file full of console commands and then execute them in-game by typing "bat .txt" in the console. I know that in Fallout 4, for example, there was a script going around prior to the mod kit that gave people 1000 units of each component. I imagine you could also use the script to set a variety of character values.

What makes people think Pelinal is a cyborg from the future comes down to the way he's described in The Song of Pelinal: * PELIN-EL [which is] "The Star-Made Knight" [and he] was arrayed in armor [from the future time]. * Beneath the Pelinal's star-armor was a chest that gaped open to show no heart, only a red rage shaped diamond-fashion, singing like a mindless dragon. * Pelinal called out Haromir of Copper and Tea into a duel at the Tor, and ate his neck-veins while screaming praise to Reman, a name that no one knew yet. So he basically appeared in Plate Armour at a time when nobody had figured that out yet, with a 'diamond heart that sang' (which sounds like a mechanical heart), and started screaming praise for an Emperor who hadn't been born yet.
There's also fairly blatant instances of time travel that confirm the possibility. Mostly seen in ESO, but the events of ESO are apparently cannon lore. So, do with that as you will.
You’re not JUST background noise. You’re also the only RUclips channel on the entire internet whose videos I can comfort watch to sleep. Why? Idk. But thanks so much for your contributions anyway. I feel like I know the cannon Nerevarine video by heart.
great video but man i feel the exact opposite way about skyrim and oblivion's aesthetics as far as wandering around goes. i guess my argument being with Oblivion I can look off in the distance and see the imperial city looking pretty and sitting between the lakes that reflect the light, whereas a lot of the time skyrim only really ever gives you mountains to look at in the distance. yeah you get whiterun if you're near Riverwood but...like, c'mon, the imperial city looks way cooler from the mountains near bruma anyway cool video as always gamer, thanks

25:36 talking about obligate air-breathers there was this video of arapaima , a huge african fish, being rehomed in a huge tank. The person doing the transfer said he was not leaving the tank until he saw this apmost 10 foot long fish gulp air which was funny. The arapaima is that one fish you might have seen other videos involved in an arapaima mistake of leaping out of the water to try to get a small bird or such but rams itself into the head of a human knocking the human out.
I love these videos because they're an interesting and unique challenge, the commentary as always if fantastic, but what I really love is the random little lore bits. I love learning about the Elder Scrolls universe, as it's my favourite game series, yet never knew the full details of the creation of black soul gems and their relation to Arkay.

Fun fact about the Crusader gear, placing the item set on its armor stand in the basement of the Nine Priory will actually set the armor to have its most useful enchantments and changing the armor type from heavy to light, or vice versa in consideration of your armor level.

For future runs you can create a batch file to use multiple console commands. Its easy to create, just make a text file, put all your console commands inside, save it as a bat file then run it ingame. Its way easier and faster to make than to write all the console commands in game and you can reuse it. It works in oblivion, skyrim and maybe even morrowind
the concept of the spiders having 8 legs for the 8 divines is interesting, so I expanded on the concept so the spiders were made before man or mer and when the aedra made them they each sacrificed and gave part of their power into the creature creating eight legs for the eight divine, but the spider having Divine blood in each and every one of them, also had the will to create, so they prayed and they cried out to the divines for the ability to create but remained unanswered, except by one the daedra mephala who in exchange for their thought and sentience gave them the ability to spin their own webs sorry if the writing is bad, English is my first language, I was just born with rocks in my head instead of a brain

Pretty sure, during the Ghosts of the Knights fight, you can hard-rest while your next challenger is being declared, since nothing is actually aggroed to you at that time, and Oblivion will just sorta sit there and wait for you to hear the rest of the dialogue, so you could slam 24 hours down, refill your MP, reset Pilgrim's Path, etc maybe you shoulda gotten a Stone power as well tho

for anyone wanting to play Oblivion/Knights of the Nine when you get the crusader armor if you place it on the rack downstairs in the chapel it repairs, recharges, and increases its power if you leveled up and are now in a new equipment bracket. This is pretty cool if you want to RP from level 1 as a oblivion is pretty punishing to players who do that.
Was playing oblivion recently, and figured something out. If you block roll it resets your cast animation which allows you to cast again immediately. Self cast spells take about 2 seconds, blocking while casting reduces it to about 1. Block rolling and casting at the same time lets you spam out about 2 casts a second For those who don’t know: to block roll you have to have 50 in acrobatics and press the jump button while blocking and moving in any direction
I get the feeling that note about how lockpicking sounds work is related to an exchange we had in comments. Good stuff. Thank you for adding this detail
I used to use the mod called "another life" where you start out on a port town in oblivion. You can do all the quests normally, but since it starts you in another town you could do the quests in that town first, which makes a rather nice distinction. I don't believe it added any quests, it just gave you a bunch of character creation choices and leaves you alone.
17:10 In my opinion, I think it comes down to your art and scenery preference. Sometimes wandering through Skyrim is GORGEOUS. When you walk through a forest and realize you are at the top of a hill, and you look down across the landscape and see 2 is blend into two different biomes. *Chef's Kiss* On the other hand, I LOVE lush forest scenery and sometimes prefer Oblivion. All the different colored flowers blending gorgeously together with the tall grass and huge trees like a painting. Oblivion definitely feels like a painting, where Skyrim feels brutal and realistic (if a bit cynical).

@@dr.JackieBright ESO is not canon
@@AndreLuis-gw5oxESO is absolutely canon
I think it is intentionally meant to be confusing and have multiple valid interpretations. Kirkbride lore is famous for being that way
@@AndreLuis-gw5ox I mean Skyrim has time travel too, unless we're full Morrowboomer hours and don't consider Skyrim canon either.
You’re not JUST background noise. You’re also the only RUclips channel on the entire internet whose videos I can comfort watch to sleep. Why? Idk. But thanks so much for your contributions anyway. I feel like I know the cannon Nerevarine video by heart.
That "what the hell, Talos. I'm level three" sound so real
great video but man i feel the exact opposite way about skyrim and oblivion's aesthetics as far as wandering around goes. i guess my argument being with Oblivion I can look off in the distance and see the imperial city looking pretty and sitting between the lakes that reflect the light, whereas a lot of the time skyrim only really ever gives you mountains to look at in the distance. yeah you get whiterun if you're near Riverwood but...like, c'mon, the imperial city looks way cooler from the mountains near bruma
anyway cool video as always gamer, thanks
I was not expecting the Runescape references, caught the Knights Training Waves, "Pleae", and the Underground Pass Quest so far.
How many of these guys do I gotta fight?
Hmm, to beat all nine, I need to join the Thieves Guild. Flawless logic.
Every one of your videos is a true treat. I feel like I'm getting to know more of my favorite video game world every time you post a video. Also really appreciated that screen dim for when the screen turned white at about 31:40, as you can imagine I watch these videos to wind down and appreciated not being blinded.
39:50 "Even ghosts, as weak as they are..." x'D I love the Oblivion physics glitches so much!
Great video! A crazy adventure the whole way :D
4:13 brilliant!
That Infected Toenail crime was a leap and a half 😂😂😂
I love these videos because they're an interesting and unique challenge, the commentary as always if fantastic, but what I really love is the random little lore bits. I love learning about the Elder Scrolls universe, as it's my favourite game series, yet never knew the full details of the creation of black soul gems and their relation to Arkay.
Call that dagger Mehrunes' Bic Razor
6:47 OMG that mudcrab really was more fearsome than you!
First of all love the content. You've earned a sub for the witty and deadpan humour I enjoy.
39:11 I find it both funny and interesting that you could know someone for years, then that person ends up dying, you then meet them when they are a ghost, they then kill you and turn you into a ghost, who in turn gets killed by someone else doing the same job you were doing.
Congratulations on the 100k. Well deserved
Thanks for having written captions on your videos
Fun fact about the Crusader gear, placing the item set on its armor stand in the basement of the Nine Priory will actually set the armor to have its most useful enchantments and changing the armor type from heavy to light, or vice versa in consideration of your armor level.
"Upside down pineapples, you know."
NICE.
Been watching this guy for a while now but never commented before. I love how much effort you put into your videos and the scripts behind them. Its so relaxing after a long day to sit back and relax watching your videos. Thank you for bringing us this content good sir.
How in the hell is that even possible, I was telling myself "let us see if JBN posted a new video, it will surely occupy my life with a fleeting moment of joy" ... And there it is.
This comment is better than ipecac.
I know you're currently at 99K subscribers at the moment, but congratulations on reaching 100k subs! I discovered your channel about a month or two ago, and instantly got hooked. Keep up the good work man.
Am I the only one who had no idea you could stare at those people at the arena and get 5 hand to hand levels
Oblivion is ultra comfy, and I love these playthroughs.
I'm so glad you did Knights of The Nine instead of the main quest. It was just unexpected and refreshing.
Lmao that woooooosh from the wind and the quiet knight ghost triggered a core memory for when I was 10 and so lost on what the hell was going on 😂
the concept of the spiders having 8 legs for the 8 divines is interesting, so I expanded on the concept
so the spiders were made before man or mer and when the aedra made them they each sacrificed and gave part of their power into the creature creating eight legs for the eight divine, but the spider having Divine blood in each and every one of them, also had the will to create, so they prayed and they cried out to the divines for the ability to create but remained unanswered, except by one the daedra mephala who in exchange for their thought and sentience gave them the ability to spin their own webs
sorry if the writing is bad, English is my first language, I was just born with rocks in my head instead of a brain
He man. Just to let you know, You were the one who I watched the most on the video game rewind on RUclips in the year. It also says my favorite game is Morrowind but I've never played it lol. Keep doing great content
Love seeing your growth and love your videos. Keeps me immersed in a world that I have a hard time getting back into sometimes, especially with the hopes being pretty low with the next installment
Saaawwwweeeeettt Rrroooolllll

I can honestly say that I look forward to JBN's video so much. Literally watch each one. They are so good!
33:40 It's worth mentioning that the damage Fatigue effect from the curse only applies when moving
39:27 That killed me. Can't stop laughing at that cut. :D
Amazing video and love your work.
I also love that through the crusades of a devout and the ending of the Ayleid threat, your first prayer when you were in danger was to Dagon . Genius joke
YES i was just binging your other stuff! i love your delivery and scripts its great seeing someone do gimmick runs and actually putting their personality into it
Thanks for getting these videos out regularly. I bet it's hard to think of good ideas and then a lot of work to put vids together but ty for doing it. I stop whatever I'm doing as soon as I see you drop something. Keep kickin ass.
33:49 because they aren't heavy, they are immovable. a curse placed upon gauntlets used to deniy mercy in the god of mercy's temple, only removed by giving mercy to the bloodline that committed the sin. its symbolic.
40:39 Yeah, thats my reaction to seeing this, even after countless playthroughs of Oblivion in my life. Game is 18 years old and still surprises me sometimes.
Man I remember watching my dad get the crusader armor when I was a kid. Oblivions got a special place in my heart even though I’m well into my 20s now
Modern day youtube goat uploaded ❤❤
Factually true, and not wrong!
capn't
I feel like its important to mention that Bethesda is currently on a workers strike, so solidarity to all those striking currently!
Grats on flinching Sir Ralos to beat the Knights Training!
15:30
Im sure it's already been said, but the crusader relics specifically can be placed on a mannequin in the knights priory and they'll rescale to your current level and change armor type depending on which skill is higher
I love the reveal at the end of the "crime against gods" mentioned at the beginning.
Pretty sure, during the Ghosts of the Knights fight, you can hard-rest while your next challenger is being declared, since nothing is actually aggroed to you at that time, and Oblivion will just sorta sit there and wait for you to hear the rest of the dialogue, so you could slam 24 hours down, refill your MP, reset Pilgrim's Path, etc
maybe you shoulda gotten a Stone power as well tho
Loving this channel a lot - Also, I know it's not the main focus of these videos, but seeing little lore drops and theories as to how truly got-dang weird the universe these games take place in is a treat.
"Sir lathon, we knighted him btw, wanted to come with to avenge his fallen knight, and who am i to deny him this honor"
"A bear killed him"
10/10 narration
Always love it when a new JBN video comes out. Your videos really help my mental health, thanks so much for them!
You have NO idea how long I've been waiting for this. I'm so happy, thank you JBM.
I prefer to use the visual cues for lockpicking. If the pin jumps up to the top immediately, let it come back down. If you visibly see it rise, click once it reaches the top.
I had just caught up to all your videos after I had lost you from my feed half a year ago, quite the happy surprise to see this pop up so suddenly. Love your vids! You're witty, have charm and speak in quite the comforting way- for that, I thank you. I've always appreciated how in-depth in the lore talk you get within the spur of the moment, or when you simply ponder general thoughts that appear while commentating.
Can't wait for more in the future! :D
you know very well you still have a segment of your audience from your runescape days and I appreciate that
Love the videos. The vibes, the ambiance, it’s perfect. Pls keep making videos like this
for anyone wanting to play Oblivion/Knights of the Nine when you get the crusader armor if you place it on the rack downstairs in the chapel it repairs, recharges, and increases its power if you leveled up and are now in a new equipment bracket. This is pretty cool if you want to RP from level 1 as a oblivion is pretty punishing to players who do that.
"it's not an exploit" -> "we need to do some enchanting" yeah ok buddy, all i trust is cold hard steel, none of this hocus pocus nonsense
Stumbled upon your morrowind vids. Very well done and your hilarious man. Keep up the great work, I'll be tuning in.
Was playing oblivion recently, and figured something out. If you block roll it resets your cast animation which allows you to cast again immediately.
Self cast spells take about 2 seconds, blocking while casting reduces it to about 1. Block rolling and casting at the same time lets you spam out about 2 casts a second
For those who don’t know: to block roll you have to have 50 in acrobatics and press the jump button while blocking and moving in any direction
Your patience dedication and sheer will is amazing JBN
I get the feeling that note about how lockpicking sounds work is related to an exchange we had in comments. Good stuff. Thank you for adding this detail
I used to use the mod called "another life" where you start out on a port town in oblivion. You can do all the quests normally, but since it starts you in another town you could do the quests in that town first, which makes a rather nice distinction. I don't believe it added any quests, it just gave you a bunch of character creation choices and leaves you alone.
Love your vids, man, and your dorky sense of humor. Premature congrats on 100k!
Almost 100k followers!! Ive watched your channel grow and youve earned this! Youre on the right path to 1M 💪
if there were a half-elf, half-human who could live and breathe underwater in the elder scrolls universe, would they be called a Mer-Man?
Maybe a Bretgonian or half sea elf and half man
Manmer actually, Bretons being part elf are actually called that in some cases
I'm glad some people are still making Oblivion content!
17:10
In my opinion, I think it comes down to your art and scenery preference. Sometimes wandering through Skyrim is GORGEOUS. When you walk through a forest and realize you are at the top of a hill, and you look down across the landscape and see 2 is blend into two different biomes. *Chef's Kiss*
On the other hand, I LOVE lush forest scenery and sometimes prefer Oblivion. All the different colored flowers blending gorgeously together with the tall grass and huge trees like a painting.
Oblivion definitely feels like a painting, where Skyrim feels brutal and realistic (if a bit cynical).
Another fun fact about electric eels! Their body is like 90% tail. What looks like their head is actually pretty much the whole rest of their body all scrunched up
3:01 "I forgot how cold the past was" oh no, real life foreshadowing D:
Not 100k subs yet?
Whack, luckily close. Great vids as always mate! Your a fantastic service to my ears in the background while I have Rimworld playing as well.
Happy friday dude and youre SO close to 100k!!!!! Amazing work you've earned every one
dude your sponsorship skits are something i actually look forward too lol id never thought id say that. the low quality discord call cracked me up lol
(that intro was very fun, I like how you can swap between good Roleplaying ideas and funny business.)
You was able to make absolutely bonkers build, because damage depends of your current fatigue divided by base fatigue, so simple fortify fatigue spell could (theoretically) double or triple, may be quadruple your damage
