With the Dragon Prince season 4, we only got one episode with new lore about the Fallen Star, Aaravos. However, there is so much more we have learned about this mysterious Startouch Elf prior to this. So much that I had to make a two-part video about it! In this first part, I discuss the various tomes that needed to be translated. Perhaps you remember the one we saw in Season 2 that was in Arabic. Turns out we got a few more, all of which have valuable information about Aaravos's past. How did he help humans when they needed it most? Was he responsible for the extinction of the unicorns? There is so much to talk about and this is far from the end- in part 2 look forward to more discussion about Season 4 and what we learned about him from outside media! Make sure to subscribe to get notified of when the next part arrives!

Since Aaravos is the one narrating the first novel’s prologue, it’s obvious that he’s telling the Xadian side of the unicorn story and there’s a human side of it we haven’t seen yet, but could be coming soon. I also know said human side of the story is going to be very different because of the tome page about Aaravos, the startouch elves and the unicorns from The Art of The Dragon Prince describing unicorns as being almost impossible to hunt thanks to their stellar magic and devious cunning.

Aaravos is seemingly on his own side though. It's hard to even call him a Xadian since he comes from the heavens and is no true friend of Xadia. Unbiased sources also state that humans hunted dark mages until their eventual disappearance. Just because they were hard to hunt doesn't mean all attempts failed. Maybe they didn't go extinct, but they're not commonly found anymore and that's definitely because dark mages hunted them. I don't think Ziard would have really denied it.

I think Aarvoss does actually want humanity to thrive. It’s just he wants them to, while being there king.
I think Aarvoss saw the potential opportunity of humanity. He saw a race that was smart, organized, there are plenty of them and they were weak.
He created dark magic to even the scales, give the weak beings, power, embolden them to conquest. Now he has an army to help conquer Xadia.
And when it’s all said and done, the weak human now rule the world and have Aarvoss to thank and worship.

I’m not so sure that Aaravos’ will is so basic (take over world). Based on what creators said, you are half right, he wants to be revered or even worshipped. But he also helped humans out of genuine kindness.

    • @Liberty_prime

I think that Startouch Elves are ancestors of other Elven races, which are half-breeds of Startouch Elves and humans. If you look closely at picture 2:13, the Elves standing beside Aaravos look more human than he himself does. They look literally like different human races. I think Aaravos could had a human woman, but something happened and she died , the dragons could be involved. .

The back story of Aaravos was the only real highlight of the season for me. I wish the other back stories (sun elf culture, Raylas quest, Claudias trials to bring Viren back) were given as much depth as this was. 10 Episodes for 1 season, considering how long we waited between season 3/4 was disappointing, along with the dumbing down of characters (Claudia for instance) and overkill of childishness, has left me hopeful season 5 is much better, but not optimistic.

    Dragon Prince Theories
    1. Aaravos' Guide looks like Gollum (Picture Riddles?).
    2. We know the Tidebound Elves are involved in Aaravos' prison.
    3. Clue to Prison Theory
    - Sky Archdragon: The Mirror = The Prison's appearance
    - Earth Archdragon: The Map = The Location of the Prison
    - Ocean Archdragon: The Blueprint = Entrance and features of the prison
    4. There are no Star Archdragons but only Void Dragons and Star Devouring Dragons.
    5. The Key of Aaravos reminds me of the One Ring (Callum couldn't drop it in the lava).
    6. Viren became unconscious like Callum when he reused Dark Magic. He might go through the same mind journey Callum went through and find his primal source (Likely Star Magic?). The end credits images of Episode 9 showed Viren in his Dark Magic form, becoming exhausted, and collapsing like Callum did when he first used Dark Magic.
    7. What broke me is how Soren never told Claudia that Callum can do Primal Magic and how she never showed any reaction or thought that Callum can do magic.
    Book 5: Ocean Theories
    1. The Tidebound Elves are well known for their powerful magic.
    2. The Tidebound Elves are needed to help free Rayla's Parents and Runaan.
    3. The Blueprint of Aaravos' prison is guarded by the Ocean Archdragon.
    4. With the blueprint, Claudia's group will free Aaravos in Book 6: Star.
    5. Team Zym will meet descendants of the Tidebound Elves who crafted the prison.
    6. Rayla hates water so she will be scared underwater at Tidebound Archipelago.
    7. Rayla's reunion and future relationship with her parents is similar to the relationship between Nya and her parents in Ninjago Season 14 Seabound. An overcaring mother who wants to spend more time with her daughter with a supporting father.
    8. Rayla and her parents' reunion example: ruclips.net/video/HkQxvAi4lak/видео.html
    9. It will be cool if Lissa (Viren's Wife) becomes the new leader of Del Bar (Funny moments with Soren and sad moments with Claudia).
    Aaravos Theory
I think Aaravos sacrificed his position to genuinely help humans because of how he pities their poor state. He really though dark magic was the only solution for humanity to thrive as humans connecting to a primal source is rare and almost impossible. I hope he gives a speech similar to Luthen Rael's speech of sacrifice in Andor: ruclips.net/video/ux9qBIbpVDw/видео.html
    Character Similarities to other Stories
    1. Aaravos reminds me of Sauron (Annatar) and Darth Sidious.
    2. Viren is like Count Dooku and Saruman combined.
    3. Claudia reminds me of Morgan Le Fay
    4. Callum reminds me of Anakin Skywalker, Merlin, and Frodo.
    5. Ezran reminds me of Bran Stark, Aragorn, and King Arthur.
    6. Rex Igneous reminds me of Smaug and Nelfarion (Deathwing).
    7. The Startouch Elves remind of the Maiar (Lower Ainur).
Dragon Prince Location Similarities to other Stories
    1. Umber Tor reminds me of Erebor.
    2. Tidebound Archipelago will probably look like Atlantis
My favorite moment was Rex Igneous
What I love about Rex Igneous is that he had enough of everyone's BS (Dragons and Elves). He hated his former friend Avizandum because of his bloodthirsty and god-loving nature over humans. Rex opposed Avizandum's beliefs and he himself does not disdain humans despite his isolation for hundreds of years. His isolation and the way Rayla stabbed his hand to wake him up made him angry but seeing Zubeia, an old friend of his who just lost her husband, softened Rex to end his rampage. I also like the reason he respects humans because he was a friend of one (Orphan Queen -> Harrow & Ezran's ancestor). I think one of the reasons why Rex isolated himself was because he was disappointed a young, bloodthirsty Avizandum became the Dragon King and how the dragons and elves still war with humans even though some humans, including the Orphan Queen, saved Xadia from Aaravos and his pawns. Rex is similar to Count Dooku in his reaction to the corruption of the Jedi and Republic. But unlike Dooku, Rex is not a tyrant nor a dictator and instead isolated himself to ignore Xadia's BS.
Also, the way the Dragons keep Elvish armor and weapons make totally no sense. They are not the dragon aspects from World of Warcraft they are just dragons (they can't shapeshift into visage forms). However, it would make sense if you pay gold, money, and great elvish armor and weapons for things that they need from other elves. Leaders do need to pay to get food and other things that they need (even rulers need to pay money).

"The only known creatures connected to the stars are the mysterious Startouch Elves and the rare, fascinating unicorns.

    -Art Book
The art book states that dark mages did hunt unicorns but to understand their power rather than for their horns.
"The last Startouch elves and unicorns were seen over a century ago."
    -Tales of Xadia
Also the unicorns were not hunted until they were disappeared. They were seen a century ago. In S3 Claudia is stated to have found one.

    • @leonandia6201
      @leonandia6201 Год назад +1

Hello! I'm the writer of this video. These passages don't contradict anything stated in Part One or Two of this video topic. Part Two will analyze the text from the lore compendiums, among other miscellaneous sources.
Unicorns absolutely were hunted for their horns. As taken from the Book 1 core novel, unicorn horns were the most prized possessions of dark magic. This coexists with dark mages also seeking to understand their power.
The Book 1 core novel and Tales of Xadia also cover how unicorns vanished after being hunted by dark mages. Even Viren calls their horns impossibly rare. The way Claudia captured a unicorn is a miracle in of itself, and the circumstances are still largely a mystery on how this even came to be.
Xadian lore analysis is kinda my thing too, haha.

    • @ordinarytdpanalysis4772
      @ordinarytdpanalysis4772 Год назад +1

@@leonandia6201 "Understand their power" can mean a lot of things. It can mean hunted for their horns. It can mean wanting to chat with the unicorns. At the moment, it's pretty vague and we have no clear evidence what it actually means.
Book 1 intro also states the dragon egg was destroyed but this was clearly not the case.
Tales of Xadia also states that the unicorns were around at least last century.
If Claudia did find one, then not all unicorns "disappeared". We also don't know whether she killed the unicorn, the unicorn gave her the horn, she maimed the unicorn....you get the picture.
For the unicorns, we've been given evidence that contradicts each other. It's too early to assert what actually happened to them.
Again I'm not saying that unicorns are/aren't extinct. I'm saying we have not enough evidence to come to a conclusion therefore we should not until we get more evidence.
I'm assuming we're dealing with both human and Xadian views hence the contradicting information.

It's kinda easy to figure out why Aarvoos was scrapped, he was potentially a great scholar that discovered many secrets, and he could've fallen in love with dark magic once the first human deviced it. I mean, you spen millenia learning all sort of spells and suddenly, the species that seems worthless comes out with a brand new magic? not only that, but one that can do about anything? He'd probably used many dark spells and eventually discovered how thrilling it is, and how much potential Human truly have. He wanted conflict because it'smeant to make human grow and evolve faster, they will bring upon a new era that will be much better than the stagnat era of elfs, or so he thinks.

Star magic seems to contain anything “ethereal,” meaning powers that deal with “higher” and “otherworldly” forces, along with the physical concepts of outer space. Storage pocket dimensions, creation and divination, and I’m willing to bet soul magic is in there as well, at least the higher versions of it. This goes with the theory of Dark magic beings a derivative of soul magic. The reason I say this is because of the medium. Dark magic users use their “willpower” or soul as a tool to manipulate and command magic. The soul is powerful and flexible to change at times. That would explain how variable dark magic is. The issues are this though: All that energy going through the body is likely damaging the soul and flesh, causing it to degrade and rot. The soul is stretched too much and frequently to use this magic excessively. Next, this magic in essence is opening the soul to outside power to command, which runs the risk of infection and outside influence like possession. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a sort of “shadow” to Star magic that is unknown, and dark magic utilizes it. I can’t wait to see seasons 6 and 7, and any information on the secrets of star magic and dark magic. There is so much to learn!😎👍🏻

    • @leonandia6201
      @leonandia6201 Год назад +6

The magic of the primal sources is manifested by what role they serve in nature and the wider world. The reason why Sun magic is different from Star magic is because the Sun provides light and heat to the continent of Xadia, so that's how the magic manifests. Star magic draws upon space and time because the stars are place far off within the grand, infinite cosmos. That's why they're different primal sources. I hope this helps!

I don't buy that he was manipulating conflict just for lolls, I think the dragons back then were way more anti humans/afraid of humans becoming too powerful. Regem was clearly looking down on humans. Arguably Aaravos aided humans to stand up to them. But he might've become more sadistic in his prison.

Hello! I'm the writer of this video. The Startouch elf from the prologue is absolutely Aaravos. Wonderstorm confirmed it on The Dragon Prince's official social media account. You even see Aaravos with that appearance in Season 4. The contrast and distinction is intentional to highlight before and after his fallen state.
