Welcome back to another Dragon Prince lore video, where we are once again talking about the Startouch elf Aaravos! I talk about what we learned about him from the various books, the website, panels, AMAs, and from Season 4 itself. There is so much to go over that this definitely had to be a two-parter. I think the Key of Aaravos is a Startouch Elf Holocron.
If Aaravos is both Lucifer and Prometheus then it's clear how he is seen, as a betrayer, but also, as a betrayed, which he told Zubeia (the day you betrayed me). I just hope he gets a complex and interesting story, and it seems, it actually will happen.
If Aaravos gets out he’s probably going after everyone. He probably won’t care if they’re human or elf

Dragon Prince Theory
Aaravos likely helped humanity out of the goodness of his heart. However, years of hardship, working to defend humanity, and maintaining his influence among the Startouch Elves hardened Aaravos because of his dislike towards the dogmatism of the Elves. He sees humanity as a space away from the Elves' dogmatism and saw potential in humanity. Aaravos' help made humanity see Aaravos as a god as well as the only Elf who truly cared about them. He studied in the Human Kingdoms and discovered Dark Magic alongside his apprentice Ziard who would later teach many mages Dark Magic.
After Ziard's death, Aaravos hated the Dragons and Elves. This intensifies with the Judgement of the Half-Moon Event. Aaravos was powerless but took his revenge by being somewhat involved in Luna Tenebris' assassination at the hands of the Bloodmoon Elves. He also was involved in the disappearance of Sunfire Queen Aditi which sparked a civil war between Dragon Loyalist Elves and Anti-Dragon Elves.
The Elvish Civil War created a division as the Earthblood Elves and Tidebound Elves grew a dislike towards the dragons sparking the reason why Earthblood Elves hunt and enslave dragons. Both Earthblood Elves and Tidebound Elves refuse to be involved in the Elves and Dragons' persecution of humanity.
Aaravos wants to completely weaken Xadia. He recruits a human friend who later becomes the Orphan Queen. Aaravos weakens Xadia while he manipulates the King of Katolis along with the other human kingdoms to ambush the Elves and retake Xadia. However, the Orphan Queen dislikes the chaos Aaravos brings and betrays him to Avizandum and Zubeia. Avizandum initially distrusted the Orphan Queen but was swayed by Zubeia, Rex Igneous, and other dragons to trust her. Together, with the help of the Tidebound Elves, Aaravos was "betrayed" and later imprisoned by Avizandum in an unknown location.
The Orphan Queen had close relations with the King of Katolis who we saw in Episode 4 as an image strategizing with the other human rulers on future attacks on Xadia with Aaravos' help. This is important as close ties to the Royal Court of Katolis are essential to understanding how the Orphan Queen actually became the Queen of Katolis.
The unknown location is likely a Hidden Sea near Xadia's core. If you watch Aquaman, you can see that the Trident of Atlantis is located in the Hidden Sea inhabited by dinosaurs. The Dragon Prince creators said that the prison was created with intricate clues and puzzles thanks to the Orphan Queen's friend, the Jailer. So Aaravos' prison will have many clues and puzzles Claudia and Viren have to solve (connects to the Puzzle House comics and Viren's past apprenticeship to Kpp'Ar who loved puzzles).

The Orphan Queen's "betrayal" caused Aaravos to believe humanity had betrayed him after everything he did to fight for their rights. He becomes furious and vows to bring disorder and chaos to the Elves, Dragons, and Humans. Aaravos also seeks the destruction and fall of the Startouch Elves who disagree with him and stay isolated from Xadia's affairs. He waited patiently for his coming freedom at the hands of Viren and Claudia (Katolis' Dark Mages). He will be free and take his revenge.
Overall, if you see Aaravos' story. It feels similar to the Origin of the Sith Order in the Star Wars Legends stories.
1. Rogue Jedi who fought the Jedi Order for their dogmatism.
2. Rogue Jedi found a Primitive Species (The Sith of Korriban).
3. The Sith Species worship the Rogue Jedi as gods
4. The created Sith Order discovered the Dark Side.
5. The Sith Order created chaos in the Galaxy from the shadows.
6. The Sith Order creates the Sith Empire to conquer the Galaxy.
Aaravos is similar to Sauron in his Annatar form.
Ocean Archdragon's Clue to Aaravos' Prison Theory
The next clue might be the blueprint of the prison since the Tidebound Elves were the ones who created it. Also, the Dragon Prince creators said that the prison was created with intricate clues and puzzles thanks to the Orphan Queen's friend, the Jailer. So Claudia needs the next clue in order to probably traverse the prison and reach Aaravos (a map in a labyrinth). Since the prison is in Xadia, it might be in the sea. Remember in Aquaman there was an underwater inhabitable world where he had to get his trident. Maybe that is where Aaravos is. Aaravos' prison might be located in a realm near Xadia's Core and its entrance is via the sea.

In your recent interview, Aaron ehaaz had hinted that the crown shown in the end credits contained the 3 quasar diamonds. It was even called the corona of the heavens. I think that could be associated with aaravos or the startouch elves not just because quasar diamonds contain star magic, but the idea of the ‘heavens’ relates to the startouch elves being perceived as beings from the heavens as stated by zubeia. In the map of the new opening, there’s a crown at the centre. Maybe that’s the Corona of the heavens and it is something that aaravos wants to get his hands on as well. You can kind of also see a constellation made up of 3 stars in the crown that can represent the quasar diamonds.
To hear that the story of why Aaravos does as he does is a beautiful story gives me hope that he originally isn't as evil as he first appears to be. Maybe this important person to Aaravos they keep refering to is the one who somehow made him so arrogant. I do not think Aaravos is directly evil, but his arrogance gets the best of him.
I look so forward to see his backstory and the reasons behind his actions.
(I'm sill convinced that the bloodmoon huntress is the one responsible for Luna Tenebris's mysterious death, but I'm not denying that Aaravos could have a hand in play in that. the moon turned red in that scene after all and the bloodmoon huntress is known to use that time to do rituals with elves/magical creatures blood to prolong her own life. And what wouldn't been better than a moon arch dragon for her)

I seriously love this deep dive. S4 made me feel like he wasn't going to be a one-dimensional villain, and that was even without all the supplemental material. Thanks for confirming my suspicions... I had already ordered some supplemental material, and you just got me to look into getting more. :)

I think that aarovos did something to the star touch elves. The key could unlock the star stone.
I feel like it could be possible for another startouch elf more powerful than aaravos to go against him and help the humans and elves to get rid of him for good
could be but I think that would be cheap. I want humans and elves work together to beat him on their own
I have a head cannon that there are less than 100 startouch elves left in the universe after Aaravos is sealed away since it seems that he was kinda like their king or prince hence why he was so strong and the star touch elves didn't want to be associated with any side distrustful of the other elves dragons and humans with other star creatures following suit except for that monkey and yeah that my little head cannon

From season 4 Ep 4 “through the looking glass” I’m convinced that the dragon skeleton at the bottom of the ocean at the end of season 5 is Luna Tenebris that went mysteriously missing. Also I might be reaching but it looks like when they tell she went missing a large blood moon covers her, leading me to believe that Kim'dael had something to do with her disappearance and may have had something to do with the order of the blood moon. Aaravos says he swallowed Aditi so I wonder if he possessed Luna Tenebris before she vanished. 🤔
In a recent interview Aaron Ehaz said that the skeleton had something to do with Aaravos and when Aaravos said that he swallowed Aditi it made me think he has a dragon form or something .
Quick question, is the reason Aaravos is called the "fallen star" because he ripped a star out of his chest, used it to make that crown with the three jewels on it, and then those jewels were separated and used in Viren's staff, the Key of Aaravos, and a third thing we haven't seen yet?
Maybe the crown *is* the third thing?
