Typical Haynes video missing out all the key info you need to do the job, what size are torx screws? what size is the sump plug? Where is the oil filter located? What grade of oil to use?

is there any oil in the filter when you first check the oil?

The filter will fill with oil as soon as the engine is started.

You should fill the oil to the mid- max mark and NOT the min mark before first start after oil change. When you start the engine, quite a lot of the oil, will be absorbed into the filter, and then it will go under the min mark, which it should never do. When you fill it to mid-max, you will still need to refill afterwards, because of the same reason.

Apologies. There's no need to remove the engine upper cover - we'll get it sorted!
