    Lyrics:
Oh the Easter snow it has faded away
It was so rare and so beautiful, now it's melted back into the clay
Those days will be remembered- beyond out in the Naul
Listening to the master's notes as gently they did fall
Oh the music- as Seamus he did play
But the thaw crept over the mantle white and turned it back to clay.
Oh the Easter snow it has faded away
It was so rare and so beautiful, now it's melted back into the clay
He gazed at the embers in reflection, he called up lost verses again
He smiled at a roguish recollection while his fingers gripped the glass to stem the pain
When knocked on his door would always open with a welcome he'd bid the time of day
Though we came when the last flakes were melted, while it lay upon the ground we stayed away
Oh the music- as Seamus he did play.
But the thaw crept over the mantle white and turned it back to clay.
Oh the Easter snow it has faded away
It was so rare and so beautiful, now it's melted back into the clay
Oh the Easter snow it has faded away
It was so rare and so beautiful, now it's melted back into the clay
It was so rare and so beautiful, now it's melted back into the clay

First time to ever hear this song. There is certain Grace and Beauty in the simple lyrics as John provides his soulful voice. Thank you for sharing.

Simply beautiful. An old fashioned song, pure MUSH. I LOVE IT. I hope you had a pleasant Easter, Mr Studio. I was, unfortunately hospitalized for a few days including Easter Sunday. Oh well. Hearing this voice again erases that memory. Thank you for posting more John McDee!

Dermott Studio haha Still alive and kicking. hmmm....maybe you should call it John McDerMUSH? :) Thanks again. Made me feel so much better hearing that voice. You choose well. Love to haar the O Holy Night John did with the Mistletones many moons ago, hint hint. I can't find the CD. I think it was in my car that got "sandy" killed back on Oct 29, 2012. :(

I try my best to not upload songs already uploaded, I think LadyGreyCarolyn uploaded "O Holy Night" by the mistletones already. I was hit by sandy too, I live in NJ.

Dermott Studio So you understand what we went through here with Sandy. My sisters are in NM and didn't get the full story of Sandy until I was finally able to speak to them later on after the power was restored. Ugly time for so many of us.I don't think Lady Grey posted the O Holy Night from the Mistletones. She has the one from one of his Christmas CDs. I appreciate that you post songs of John that are not as well known. Of course, I love just about everything he has ever sung although I can live without Galway Bay which he sang at many of his shows. :)

Okay Mr Studio, you are correct. I had to do a search of Lady Grey's numerous videos but found the O Holy Night with John and his buddies, the Mistletones. I had to play it twice. My God, that voice hitting those beautiful notes. Wow. I never get tired of hearing him sing.
