On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-18-21.
We’re looking at a 1971 Ford Boss Mustang in Blue Paint. The car features a 351 CI V8 engine, with a 4 Speed manual transmission.
The car's Owner is Fred Kemmerer. Fred’s had this car since 2018. Fred shares he rode in this car as a much younger man, and kept in touch with the Owner until he finally sold it to him. This car has not been restored and mostly original.

An absolutely stunning Ford Mustang! This is my favorite generation and style of Mustangs. This is definitely a car that was used in the previous owner’s daily life up until he parked it. Looks like the new owner has been and will be a great car-taker for his dream car. Thanks Lou and Fred for a great presentation!

@Rusty I currently have (2) 1973 Mach 1s with 351c in my family.. mom, brother. I prefer this year only because the front fog lights look better Vertical instead of horizontal imo. Although a 70 triple black boss 429 takes the crown for me.

    Goodday Lou,
Finally finally my all time favorite Mustang hands down.
1971 Boss 351 Mustang, everyone regards them the ugly duckling of the Mustang world, but I remember seeing this body shape in the James Bond movie
" Diamonds Are Forever " & ever since that movie as a 10 year old I have always loved this body shape Mustang.
These Boss 351 Mustang are actually the fastest Mustang down the quarter mile of all the Mustang's.
The Boss 351 has a larger cfm carby than the Boss 429 Mustang.
The Boss 351 are always underrated.
Back to Fred, what a nice guy, chased his dream car forever in a day & finally ends up with it & he thoroughly deserves it. What a great custodian & that Mustang couldn't be in better hands.
Fred has to be the happiest guy you have interviewed in a long time. All the owner's are happy, but Fred takes it to another level, you can sense & feel his excitement talking to you about the Boss 351.
I think he is in disbelief you are interviewing him, must be a dream come true for him to be on your channel.
This video cheered me up & made me smile so much how you interviewed Fred, you get the best out of the owner's, you are a true professional interviewe Lou, love your style.
That Mustang is absolutely stunning & sounds awesome.
    Classic interview 👍
Your number 1 Fan in Australia

Hi, Lou! You're right, Fred does have a lot of fortitude (or did you say, Ford-itude?) to stay focused on one particular automotive specimen! I'd say that's pretty important when the subject is as rare as this one! It's really amazing the things find in old cars sometimes...window markings, date stamps, valentines, pull tabs, 50-year-old cigarette butts, 50-year-old coffee cups, etc.! This is an ideal "forever car" to have for sure!
That Grabber Blue and Silver paint combo really grabs you, and after listening to the rev-up and the snorting through those hood nostrils, I can well imagine what the ride would have been like! Many thanks to you and Fred for sharing with us one of the most fascinating car stories I've heard yet!

These were most interesting; I had a good friend in the early 70's with a red one. Always felt like sitting too low in a bathtub with the low roof and slitty windows. Fortunately, my friend's had a/c; bet it's a struggle to look cool in this thing with a black interior when it's in the 90's outside!

    Another excellent video! Thank you!
A friend of mine had one of these 1971 Boss 351 Mustangs, although his was a metallic blue and silver. I believe that these engines had solid lifters, so they were mechanically noisy. They also had governors limiting the RPM. The governors were easily disabled and allowed the full powerband of the engine to be available. About the only Mustang which could run circles around this Mustang is the previous year's Boss 429. The 1971 to 1973 final generation Mustang had probably the best body and chassis. I say final generation and best generation Mustang, as it had evolved bigtime from it's original 1964 Falcon roots. The 1974 Mustang II and later, pre-Fox Mustangs, were Pintos in disguise and a real letdown.

I feel bad for these year Mustangs , they had to follow up the 69/70 fastbacks which are arguably one of the best looking muscle cars of all time...These remind me of AMC with its boxy front end and massive rear pillar. A nice car in its own right but to me, a let down when compared to its predecessor
