    When you "Team" up with Leila, you "Excel" in "Office", your "Outlook" towards work changes, and you realize that, there are so many things "To Do"! Well done, looking for more, keep it going! 😊👍👏

    Your channel is very useful. Most productivity channels are aimed towards freelancers who can choose the apps they work with, so they focus on Notion, Evernote, etc. On the other hand, corporate work is almost exclusively based on Microsoft.

    This is awsomely helpful!! To Do is one of those apps that you first cannot understand what's it for (what different is it from a calendar) and then you find it immensely useful. One find I can't understand is how Calendar and To Do are not synchronised: like creating an event on Calendar would instantly create a task in To Do instead of the other way around.

    This was AWESOMELY helpful, brief but PACKED with SUPER USEFUL information. I am so grateful to you for making this. Integration, to me, is the power of the Microsoft suite but they don't always make it clear how all the integrations can really WORK for users. You bridged that knowledge gap so beautifully.

    And to push people even more towards the OWA: in the e-mail if you highlight something, then you can create a task or even a note out of it. It's soo great, when you need to do several things with an e-mail, then you can make sure you know exactly what to do.

  • @jsummar

    Thank you for this video. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to make a task remind me with an audible and visual notification. It used to do that in the pre-365 days. I need something like a calendar invite does when a meeting is about to start, because I get so caught up in a flow of something I'm doing, and I forget to look at my Tasks list and prioritize my day. How has MS missed this crucial feature? Any suggestions or do you have a video showing how to be more productive with your To-Dos? I love the To Do app. It's simple to use, but it's missing this one feature that would take it from good to great.

    As always ... Leila demonstrates a terrific mastery of the subject and provides an impeccable delivery.
    I am not fluent in these applications ... I hope to learn more soon using this video and Leila's other recently released videos. But I must say, at times I feel like I am in The House of Mirrors ... finding it very disorienting where to turn to find what I am looking for. I think one of Leila's main points is that no matter where I turn, my 'tasks' will be there. But I still cannot help but feel that the numerous 'features' are like a patchwork quilt knitted together with some parts quite seamless ... and other parts less so.
    I continue to look for a way to organize my myriad of tasks by Client ... by Project ... by Task ... by Sub-Task (which I have done in Outlook for decades). I simply need to spend more time (which is in short supply) to understand the full potential of these applications ... but I am very thankful to have Leila's help doing so.

    Hi, Leila
    Could you create a video for Outlook for the Web? I was quite surprised when you said Outlook for the Web has more functionalities than Outlook Desktop: when I open it, all I get is a big nothing. All I have is Notes (some notes I take with OneNote on my iPhone) and the icon for To Do. I have Office 365, Windows 10. Clearly, I need some help there.

The planner and to do in Teams My Day does not show your calendar entries. I wanted to show tasks from my planner and to do along with calendar entries in Outlook and can only see this type of My Day in the web version of Outlook. Would this be the only way? thanks

    Email is the task just flag it, as long it is flagged it is a task and when done mark comple with the right subject there is a good follow up till it is completed and the conversation help to follow that task email. As you showed Leila before you can then clean up the conversation / folder.

    This is super helpful! Great tutorial on To Do for desktop and web-version. Do u have any guidance when it comes to the To Do app on smartphone (TDSM)? The tasks I create on TDSM do not appear on my Outlook app for smartphone (OSM) calendar. Specifically when I add a due date to a task on TDSM, I would then like to see the task on my OSM calendar; however it does not appear. I have looked online for ways for them to appear but haven’t had any luck. Wondering if u know of a way that u cover in a video.

  • @rachael5029
    @rachael5029 3 года назад +3

    What I miss in to-do that was available in wunderlist is the natural language input when adding a task e.g. I could write 'create presentation today at 3pm' and it automatically add the due date/time, and would add it to the equivalent of the planned section for today. Similarly it recognised things like 'do admin every morning at 9am' . It would automatically create the task as recurring with the correct time. This would greatly speed up management of tasks so we spend more time doing and less time organising our to do list. Going in and out of the settings for each task to add extra things once you've created it takes time.

    Thank you again Leila. I'd like some insight from you. You mention around the one minutes mark that Outlook for the web is more advanced than the version for the desktop. Could you explain that? I have been struggling on the return to OUTLOOK - for instance, I cannot get the CONTACTS in Google Contacts to SYNC with OUTLOOK DESKTOP, yet they do with OUTLOOK WEB. In OUTLOOK WEB, there seems to be NO ability under PEOPLE to add contacts or do anything practical (even through the MS tutorial clearly shows a slight menu bar on pages in the PEOPLE section). A Tech at MS last night said that the WEB version is not meant to have the control i was expecting and needed to you the desktop version. I'd really like to hear you explain, you understand things so well and explain them so well. It is fully to note that you say TODO you run on your Desktop but OUTLOOK is more advanced on the Wed.

    Just curious… if you have a project or to do list shared with a team… say it’s a “monthly meeting” task and you create a checklist in this “project/bucket” where everyone needs to do each task… is there a way to have a check list for each person in that one project so that each person’s progress can be tracked and that a task isn’t overridden by the first person that competed that task?

However, I don't want them showing up in my "To Dos" as they're not "flagged" because there's an action required; it''s just so that I can quickly find something. But all of these are showing up in my To Do app. Is there a way to prevent that? Maybe use the color coding categories to help find key emails instead of "flags" ??

    Its such a shame that Microsoft requires 3 different ways to manage one basic productive elements --- TASKS!
    To Follow-up on email (verb) -> That's a task
    To do a specific work -> That's a task
    To plan (planner) series of actions on a project -> Multiple tasks
    Why to give different names to one common objective then? Why not to have tasks only and add a feature to put labels (hierarchical) to distinguish them?
    Difference between functionality of Web and Desktop
    I think its only sweet voice of Leila that is making this sound little digestible. But in actuality, its horrendous on part of MS to keep the functionality of same software ridiculously different on these platforms. I hope either they level it across all platforms or move away from Desktop to complete Web view in near future.

    I can see were a lot of planner and task would be useful to me in my real estate business And I love the calendar integration.
    If I were to set something up with teams, do all of the team members have to be subscribers to Office 360? Everything that you do on the video is on a desktop… Is there an app that I can update my tasks on my iPhone as well as add new tasks during the course of the day? Can you take pictures with your phone and add them into your tasks.
