“Arcade gaming has come a long way since its glory days - an era woven into the fabric of gaming history as one that paved the way for innovation, and also one that brought us bittersweet nostalgia. Hours spent at the arcade honed the gamer in you; for every coin you inserted, every combo you executed, every hit you took, and every ultra you unleashed in return - you became a better player. And this is the approach we took when designing the Razer Atrox Arcade Stick for Xbox One.
    www.razerzone.c...
“The original Razer Atrox arcade stick for the Xbox 360® was built on years upon years of collective gaming experience from pro gamers and the Razer community alike, and was engineered and refined to perfection through countless prototypes via an extensive beta testing phase. The All-new Razer Atrox arcade stick for Xbox One follows to same principle and has been crafted to allow the same advanced modification that gamers and modders have come to love over the years. With internals and storage easily accessible at the touch of a button, the joystick, all 10 buttons and the top panel are fully interchangeable for full customizability. Featuring genuine Sanwa™ hardware and an ergonomically authentic arcade layout, the Razer Atrox Arcade Stick for Xbox One represents the pinnacle of precision and reliability and is the definitive arcade stick for tournament-grade gaming. Forged from the fires of an arcade gaming legacy, the Razer Atrox Arcade Stick for Xbox One is, in the most primeval sense, Bred to Fight.”

As someone that owns the 360 version of the Atrox, I can tell you this plays really well no matter what your game and is built like a tank. Plus you can modify it real easy to modify it with different buttons or sticks/gates. I kept hearing that the XBONE version of the Atrox is $350... Dunno about that, given that the MadCatz TE2 is $50 cheaper and appears to have similar build quality.

Blunty They actually showed that they were still working on it, thankfully :) I don't think they were planning on making Tekken 7 just yet either but they had to start because a certain trailer leaked at EVO >_>

I've just started planning my own cabinet build... Decided to go with a showcase style 4 player pedestal with a flat screen for maximum size while saving space. Nice vid, B! Glad Razer didn't skimp on part quality.

I love collecting sticks. I like how easily one can mod these sticks and its value becomes apparent to those interested in competing in tournaments. I haven't realized this importance until yesterday. After playing some Killer Instinct with my Hori HRAP V3 Kai (love this stick) and a converter, my bat top came loose. Since the only way to retighten it is to remove every screw on the bottom of the unit and remove the bottom plate, I realized how much of a pain this is. For tournaments, you don't have time for that nonsense. The problem would be exacerbated if a button broke midway through the competition and you needed to make a quick fix. This is where the Mad Catz TE2 and Razer Atrox make a lot of sense. I'm thinking of getting the Atrox but, man, that's a lot of bread for a stick. I'm just a poor grad student, after all. Thanks for the review, Blunty.

Looks good. Probably smarter to just get this than a $80 and then get annoyed and replace all the buttons and joysticks to Sanwa after a few months? Would you recommend for a first arcade stick to just go this route vs a $80 cross platform stick that often sounds twitchy.. (needing Xbox remote wired to activate etc etc etc). Or maybe an X-Arcade with adapters for about the same money? Have you used an X-Arcade as well? Thoughts?

This is off topic, but do you typically have to send stuff back to the company? When you're reviewing it? I just find that odd for some reason... though, considering it's Razor we're talking about...hmm. Expensive company :P
    Also, nice review.
Also, I flip off my games as well when I have finished a hard stage.

SensibleGaming Depends on the product, and the company (and/or PR team), but yes, it's not uncommon for review samples just to be loaners. Other times I get to hang on to stuff... which is sweet.

Beautiful. I played MK11 with Razor Atrox for the first time last night over a friend's house and it was an amazing experience. I was getting my ass kicked with a controller but with the atrox it evened the score.
Do you know what spring tension it comes with in the joystick (ex. 2 lbs, 4, lbs, ect)? It would be so easy to put better ones in there, it just pops open.

Are you planning on doing one on the standard controller Razer has? I usually go for the cheaper Logitech F-### ones since they are quite comfortable and durable, just wanted to see if it's really worth getting a Razer one.

Hey *Blunty* , I just had a question, you mentioned you can replace stuff easily with this....but my question is, how easy is it to replace the buttons? Like for example if you like colored buttons instead of them all being black. Would that be a easy or hard thing to replace? For example, I am a fan of the SNES's colorful button controller. Could someone do the same with this?

It´s easy to swap the buttons but at the first time you need a screwdriver and a little patience, the quick disconect came stiff, then they became more loose and came out with a little push!
