It’s nice that the fandom is more chill now than it was in the spring. It sucks that Welcome Home lost some of its fans and some of the traction it had, but it’s good that the people who stuck around are much more chill. The fandom vibes have gotten so much less chaotic and toxic.
Hey Matpat! I wanted to draw some attention to some info about the apple situation. There’s some old information (that the canon state of is up in the air) that Wally eats things through his eyes! He canonically greatly enjoys apples and I believe that the darkening of the screen may be him blinking to bite! Thank you for continuing to look at this!
That's what I think too because we've seen Wally eat till now if that was him. But this also begs the question of if the others know this is how Wally eats. Because if they do then Barnaby's line wouldn't make sense unless he was just teasing.
Fr like I’ll just listen to music half listening to their conversation. One second I’ll be listening to music zoning out and they are chatting about math two seconds later I hear “I eat children” and I just question everything 💀
I think it's just that Eddie is trying to stay professional but gets comfortable to use a first name for Frank Yknow since the creator draws them kissing all the time on tumblr lol. they're boyfriends your honor, I doubt a stuttered name goes deeper than that
I also want to add is that if you listen to Franks tone of voice with Eddie, it's diffrent then with the others. AS so far we really only ever heard him use a strict or upset tone with them. Eddie is the only one I beileve we've heard him use a playful/loving tone with.
I really like Clown's approach to puzzles. They are like baby's first ARG and are a great way to introduce people to this type of media! Unfortunately our brains have been so rotten by FNAF and such that we overcomplicate the puzzles

I really appreciate that Clown makes the puzzles simple enough for the average viewer. You still have to work for the answers sometimes, but you don't need specialized knowledge to complete them.

If I remember correctly in the apartment- hallway one the birds name is "the greeter" then a yellow one called "the waiter" then "the follower" is like a blue goat or ram thing
I have 3 theories I'd care to share: 38:10 the fact that the narrator says we are "peering through the window" of Poppy's home seems like an extremely important detail, especially when compared to real-life children's shows. Viewers are often active members of the community or acknowledged/welcomed tourists. Here, however, the viewers are like spies. I can't remember if you've mentioned that before, but it seemed important to me. 39:20 Going off the idea that the narrator *is* Wally, maybe that was Wally's original role--until he got jealous and lonely and Home offered to make him real, to give him a name and a face and make him part of the neighborhood. 41:09 The "monsters in the woods" that come out to "view them" at night are us. This can tie back to my first theory in this comment. I think the statement at 42:39 that the noises can be heard "especially if you wait next to your window" confirms this.

Ah, I was thinking that it would be the human backstage cast that would be the monster. Given that bugs disappearing, bushes being moved and house exteriors being messed with could be the human workers touching up the set between episodes. Plus if neighbours have gone missing overnight in the past, it could be the characters being retired from the show. Of course, given what it is, being retired would be a little more sinister than a character being dropped normally.
Between all the well written dialogue and the incredible art style, I honestly kind of just want an actual welcome home show. Not a creepy pseudo-horror thing, just like an actual tv show with these characters. I love the ARG stuff, but it almost makes me sad that we’ll likely never see these characters outside that context. All that to say that ClownIllustrations is an absolute master of design for coming up with all this, and even though I know this ended up being stressful for them I hope they feel proud of what they’ve made.
Considering how passionate some fans are nowadays, you bet there will be someone out there crazy enough to make a whole episode with the vibrant style of this lost show

Wally is known to eat with his eyes! He was taking a bite out of the candy apple. Also in the art for the Halloween episode he was holding a bitten caramel apple!

Eddie Dear being a suspect is interesting, especially since he is forgetful. In which I mean he forgets things. Maybe he could be the creature that lurks around at night.

I also think it’s interesting because Sally has always held some kind of disdain towards him. She doesn’t like Eddie much, which would make sense if she hears this monster in the town every night and knows (or at least suspects) it’s him.
I think the thing we've not touched on yet is the orientation of Wally's eyes. His eyes are either "content" or "alert" at any moment. I think this is either the separation of when he's in his "surveillance" mode versus being in control. Perhaps it indicates that there's two different Wally's entirely, but the direction his eyes are tilted seems to have some sort of importance.
Yes, Clown revealed this on their Tumblr and Twitter. Though, fun fact, if he were to see an apple pie he wouldn't know what to do with it (he'd be like 'this isn't an apple' and just not eat it).
I like how the other characters don’t know/realize Wally eats with his eyes so, in this case, Barnaby doesn’t realize Wally bit the apple. Also I imagine Wally is looking from barnaby to the apple making sure he isn’t looking so he can take a bite.
I have to admit, Ash's project was definitely a help for me in trying to finish my own. And I've not actually gotten to the end of the book, but I did pass 50,000 words about four and a half hours before the deadline, so I think it was a month well spent. Thanks, Ash!
Wally isn't brought into the conversation at its end, rather the conversation continues with Wally included. We only get to see the parts of conversation when Wally is just listening in and doesn't need to talk, and I can confirm that people listening to conversations without being brought in is a thing that can happen.
I would just like to point out that Frank dressed up as a vampire for the Halloween update so that would specify why he calls out the teeth marks. Hope this helps

Eddie has the bitten apple package, but...Eddie's a mailman. That doesn't belong to him. He's simply about to deliver it and as others have called out, Wally canonically loves apples. I didn't know about the lore floating around that says he eats with his eyes but he absolutely is able to reach out and absorb energies and brainwash people with them so I think it makes more sense that Home "took a bite" of the candy apple through Wally's eyes and that Eddie is delivering that package to Wally.
The haunting video is basically a scary story related to the town/Home. I find it interesting how it’s Sally that tells this story since she hasn’t been in the forefront thus far. Not to mention, near the end, Sally’s voice sounds very close to the recording. She obviously knows something. I wonder what it all means.

I think the closed captions and audio descriptions are genius. I feel like by making it a character in and of itself not only does it add to the average viewer but it helps encapsulate the vibe better for people actually who need it. Like it adds an element of mystery that would probably get lost in a literal transcription.
Just a bit more about apples connected to Halloween - apples were traditionally buried at Halloween to feed the dead. They also contain a star, or pentagram, in the centre, symbolic of protection and often used in occult settings. Perhaps I’ve jumped too far into things there, but the focus on apples and them being used to feed the dead is particularly interesting.
i think the bitten apple is connected to Frank. we already think hes different, trying to figure out what's going on. i think he gets called out for the apple, not bc he actually ate it, but to connect the apple symbolism to him. for the box, eddie is a mailman. those boxes aren't his. the box is green and yellow, so is frank's house and sweater. giving frank more connection to the bitten apple
This might just be me, and I also noticed everyone's names end in an 'E' sound, except Frank. Sally, Wally, Julie, Eddie, Barnaby, Howdy, Poppy...then Frank. That also sets him apart. The only thing with that is there's also Home, who doesn't have an 'E' sound at the end of their name either. I dunno, could be me overthinking, just food for thought! 😊

MatPat at 46:00 a speech bubble shows up next to Wally and the word "Hello" is written out. I can't say this information is 100% correct because I didn't see the posts myself, but I've seen a lot of people say that Frank and Eddie are canonically a couple. If Frank is already suspicious it's not a stretch to think their (Frank is nonbinary) partner would be too.
Clown has confirmed on their tumblr that Frank and Eddie are 100% a couple. Also, Frank is non-binary and goes by "they/them" (also canon). Hope this helps!

That's really interesting that they're a couple. Might explain why Frank is teasing and Eddie called him frank. The neighborhood could want them to just be neighbors which would be interesting
Something that frustrates me is that he went for the secret stuff and it caused him to completely miss things that he would have gotten if he had done things in the right order.
The "fang" reference was towards Frank's costume during Halloween. He was dressed as a Vampire for the Halloween special, and Barnaby messes with Frank often, so I took it as Barnaby knowing Wally took a bite, but used it as an opportunity to say that Frank bit it because he "sees fang marks" (targeting Frank by alluding to his costume).
Between the fangs and Sally’s monster that’s two vampire references (with it not breaking into homes but just wandering the streets at night) and Eddie is a mailman. So naturally he has to interact with everyone and know where they live even if this wasn’t a small community. Maybe this was supposed to give him more opportunities to be invited in?

I know this might be a stretch, but when she says "I forget how many eyes my brother has... At least two. Or was it three? No, no two..." I was thinking about Home's windows being eyes. Then saw that Frank's house has 3 windows - as though there were three eyes - and wondered if there might be a connection there. Probably not, but regardless, it's weird that Barnaby's place doesn't show ANY windows.
With the sudden notice that there is an unknown entity who is transcribing events going on but not necessarily knowing what is going on and having an opinion, plus then the inclusion of a mysterious narrator who listens in on the characters out of sight. . . That sounds like the monster in Sally's story to me. I think this is another character we just haven't been aware of until now
I have no idea about the Welcome Home fanbase being smaller but I've been chilling with it so yea, sure. The character designs and everything else really has their own charm. Cool stuff
What I got from the Halloween video was that, we (the camera or pov) are wally. But not just Wally, it’s house looking trough Wally. Wally isn’t there, that’s why he isn’t talking, his just observing for house. When his “call to action” happens, house lets go and lets Wally take over. All the videos, are house watching through Wally. (The person writing the translation is probably just some worker watching the video, given a job.) But that’s just a theory!

Better late than never, thanks for covering this Matpat, and going over the newest update. Barnaby is a comedian so he fits into the role of Pedrolino. Which in French Pedrolino is known as Pierrot, but that fact it is Sally specifically who is. Wally is possibly the Conduit for this Entity that Home is infested with(or is if Home is the Entity taken on physical form to blend in). Eddie shows in this update that like Wally and possibly Frank knows much, much more than we realize. Now the "fang marks" I think is just Barnaby being silly because so far we've yet to see anybody with "fangs" outside of costumes. Also Barnaby CALLS Wally Kid, because Wally is younger than him, and as a term of endearment. Now we know Wally eats with his eyes, but does anybody in the Neighborhood know about this about Wally, because if they don't then they wouldn't suspect Wally eating the apple. I don't think Eddie is evil, but I do think he is not as he seems, I think he is playing two roles-The friendly neighborhood mailman and the man who knows what is really going on and knows he needs to play his role or his friends and him will pay the price. The Narrator I think was just made for this audio recording, but maybe they were also in the show? We'll have to see in more updates if they return. Sally's story definitely cuts out and she talks directly to us the people listening to this very recording because the record distortion goes away. Which shows that maybe more or all the Neighbors know what is going on and are all looking for our help and not just Wally, they're all doing it in their unique ways-Wally with his phone calls, Eddie with letters, Frank with Bugs, and Sally with stories. I think it would be cool if Matpat did a video on "The Man in the Suit" I recently came across it and thought it would be good since it fits in with the whole Analog Horror.

Not sure who bit the Apple, but Wally is the only one there (as far as we know) 24:04 I think if he was talking to someone and then turned to Wally there would’ve been more emphasis on “you” like if the interior is: “Ah don’t worry about it, there’s plenty to eat here. What about you Wally? What are you craving?” Then I think the delivery would’ve been more along the lines of “what are *you* feel hungry for, Wally?” As a way to say “hey, what about you?”
In my opinion, the asks or commands that MatPat discussed at the end of the video is home or wally seeing if they could add you, the viewer/player into their "cult" or make you a puppet. Or something like that. Also, im not sure, but maybe when you reverse sally and imagine the reverse picture where the picture usually is, it may look like she's pointing or praising home. Idk tho
Also, MatPat if you're reading this, I want you to know something. My mom, who is an English teacher, watched this video with me and she was very impressed with how you dissected the information and your use of words. She said that she would bring you up in her next class to show her students how she wanted them to search for information in books and stuff. :D
i feel like the implication for poppy, the whole "reverse this image", is that shes much more deeply connected to wally than we think because the moment that matpat reversed the image, i immediately noticed that she has the same color palette as wally. it could be because i just had this on the bg while i was drawing and art and colors was on the mind, but it is something-- i could also be completely wrong but hey, thats theorizing

I'm pretty sure the audio transcriptions are coming from the restoration team and not from Wally. They are restoring the pieces of media from a lost state and not all of the footage is in tact so they're putting their best guess in the transcription, that's why it said "I think".
I love all of Mats thoughts here. But with his thought of Eddie being, potentially, evil because of the apple on one of the boxes he’s carrying connecting to the glitch apple in the video…. I think he’s missing a HUGE detail there with the fact that Eddie is the mail man and each thing he’s carrying is for another character and not him. The top is a bow shaped present for Julie, the bottom is Barnaby’s, and I think the middle looks the most like it represents Howdy. I think this because of its green coloring but also because Howdy is literally holding an apple in his own imagery and the box he holds is an apple with a caterpillar in it. Do I know why that distinction could matter or what it means? Absouletly not. Do I think Howdy might have fangs? Or that he even ate the apple? No! I’ve got no idea. But I feel that detail could be important if who the apple “connects to” ends up mattering at all. And for Howdy not being in the video I’m not sure if that matters either. Just a thought I had and wanted to share. Potentially it could also be tying Howdy to Eddie? With the other video we got showing Eddie being afraid of a bug and Howdy having a lot of ties to potentially being a caterpillar. Maybe Eddie is scarred of Howdy? Idk anyway I love welcome home so much and I’m glad Mat is covering it.

Hey Matt and crew. I think I might have an idea on how to uncover the website command things. Although I'm not entirely certain it may work as I'm no expert, I feel Matt was on the right track. I feel you may need some website coding knowledge perhaps, so like he said, copy the website into your own version of the website that way you have access to editing the code itself. From there you can add text, alter the formatting of text etc. Another thing for you Matt, you mentioned wishing there was a way you could see what something is exactly? There kind of is. If you right click a website you can "inspect element", this is the page's source code. You can also press Control, Shift and C to get here. Once this opens, there's a dotted box with an arrow, or you can press Control, Shift and C again to be able to highlight an object on the page, and it will jump to that area of code. I hope this can help in any sort of way, and best of luck👍

It seems to me someone was writing hello in it, could the “write hello” thing be related to that? Edit: I know there is a code to flip an image, I think it was “flip box”. I’m not good at programming stuff though, so I am not able to get it to work with the code sadly.

I love welcoming home a lot. Im not always looking at its contents looking at others things. When i see that video telling there is more i always come right back to see more welcome home
"Inspect Element," or some other thing depending on your browser probably, can be used to edit the html of a page you are looking at. By using the one tool that selects the element you click on and pressing delete, you can remove elements.
One thing i'd like to mention is that wally can eat with his eyes. so maybe that could explain the apple thing since we see it move as well. It also could explain some other stuff as his staring being a threat in some way. But idk, just throwing that out there.
That's what I think happened to the apple, but idk why they called out the fangs. Also, if I remember correctly Clown said it wasn't supposed to be a threat. He just likes eye contact! Although if Mr.Pat is correct it could be both, Home is threatening us but Wally is just being a goofy guy.
A couple things to point out: First off, I’m not sure if this is canon or fanon, but I’m pretty sure it’s been said that Wally can eat with his eyes, and I’m also pretty sure Clown said that apples are Wally’s favorite food. Second, about the Boo and Yours audio and the whole idea of this monster at night, remember that drawing of Julie Clown put on their website before you click the link to Welcome home? I know they said it’s not canon/related to WH but I do think it’s worth considering that Julie is depicted as this cursed monster type thing in that one.
the bit apple in eddie's art is a gift, there is a Barnelby themed one directly under it. its most likely a gift for Wally, as he is known to like apples, as well as holding a bitten one in the halloween art.

at 45:57 of the vid the text bubble started writing "hello", so that could be what that "write Hello" could be reffering to. (i'm new to the fanbase, idk if this was from this new update or the last one)
It should also be noted that in the “happy haunting to boo and yours” picture that Wally has an candy apple and it has a bite taken out of it. It correlates with what Matt was saying about a bite out of an apple being a representation of a villain or of evil. Definitely something to think about.
Hey MatPat, in the guestbook when you scroll all the way down you see all the neighbors signatures. If you look at Howdy's signature it has a bitten apple. Don't know if that's important I just think it's something to put a lil thought into🤭💕
My headcanon is that the name "Welcome Home" is the biggest clue of all. It's more like "Welcome, Home." As in, Wally is the harbinger of the arrival of Home in new worlds.
OMG to me ash's book sounds kinda like return of the obra dinn but written form thats so exciting!!! Where u piece together what happened through fragments of history that form smaller events but once you figure it all out you have the whole overarching story. If its like that itll be really good and if im wrong im sure itll still be amazing!!!
not sure if this is new or not but when you click on the character profiles they say "Go Back!" in colourful text but wally's says "Goodbye!" in all black.

I wanted to draw some attention to some info about the apple situation. There’s some old information (that the canon state of is up in the air) that Wally eats things through his eyes! He canonically greatly enjoys apples and I believe that the darkening of the screen may be him blinking to bite! Thank you for continuing to look at this!

That's what I think too because we've seen Wally eat till now if that was him. But this also begs the question of if the others know this is how Wally eats. Because if they do then Barnaby's line wouldn't make sense unless he was just teasing.

I also want to add is that if you listen to Franks tone of voice with Eddie, it's diffrent then with the others. AS so far we really only ever heard him use a strict or upset tone with them. Eddie is the only one I beileve we've heard him use a playful/loving tone with.

I really like Clown's approach to puzzles. They are like baby's first ARG and are a great way to introduce people to this type of media! Unfortunately our brains have been so rotten by FNAF and such that we overcomplicate the puzzles
Overcomplicating indeed, I'd point to Mat immediately going "what other kid, who could this other kid be" when Barnaby addresses Wally as "kid" all the time.
It's so straight forward that it has people looking way too deep out of habit.

I really appreciate that Clown makes the puzzles simple enough for the average viewer. You still have to work for the answers sometimes, but you don't need specialized knowledge to complete them.

I have 3 theories I'd care to share:
38:10 the fact that the narrator says we are "peering through the window" of Poppy's home seems like an extremely important detail, especially when compared to real-life children's shows. Viewers are often active members of the community or acknowledged/welcomed tourists. Here, however, the viewers are like spies. I can't remember if you've mentioned that before, but it seemed important to me.
39:20 Going off the idea that the narrator *is* Wally, maybe that was Wally's original role--until he got jealous and lonely and Home offered to make him real, to give him a name and a face and make him part of the neighborhood.
41:09 The "monsters in the woods" that come out to "view them" at night are us. This can tie back to my first theory in this comment. I think the statement at 42:39 that the noises can be heard "especially if you wait next to your window" confirms this.
Then how are we consuming neighbors? Even occasional insects that cross our path as we watch the show?

Ah, I was thinking that it would be the human backstage cast that would be the monster.
Given that bugs disappearing, bushes being moved and house exteriors being messed with could be the human workers touching up the set between episodes.
Plus if neighbours have gone missing overnight in the past, it could be the characters being retired from the show.
Of course, given what it is, being retired would be a little more sinister than a character being dropped normally.

Between all the well written dialogue and the incredible art style, I honestly kind of just want an actual welcome home show. Not a creepy pseudo-horror thing, just like an actual tv show with these characters. I love the ARG stuff, but it almost makes me sad that we’ll likely never see these characters outside that context. All that to say that ClownIllustrations is an absolute master of design for coming up with all this, and even though I know this ended up being stressful for them I hope they feel proud of what they’ve made.
Considering how passionate some fans are nowadays, you bet there will be someone out there crazy enough to make a whole episode with the vibrant style of this lost show

But a lot of people have head theories that, it either the puppets of their puppeteers but, that's honestly where it goes ngl.

I think the thing we've not touched on yet is the orientation of Wally's eyes. His eyes are either "content" or "alert" at any moment. I think this is either the separation of when he's in his "surveillance" mode versus being in control. Perhaps it indicates that there's two different Wally's entirely, but the direction his eyes are tilted seems to have some sort of importance.

Yes, Clown revealed this on their Tumblr and Twitter. Though, fun fact, if he were to see an apple pie he wouldn't know what to do with it (he'd be like 'this isn't an apple' and just not eat it).

I like how the other characters don’t know/realize Wally eats with his eyes so, in this case, Barnaby doesn’t realize Wally bit the apple. Also I imagine Wally is looking from barnaby to the apple making sure he isn’t looking so he can take a bite.

I have to admit, Ash's project was definitely a help for me in trying to finish my own. And I've not actually gotten to the end of the book, but I did pass 50,000 words about four and a half hours before the deadline, so I think it was a month well spent. Thanks, Ash!
Wally isn't brought into the conversation at its end, rather the conversation continues with Wally included. We only get to see the parts of conversation when Wally is just listening in and doesn't need to talk, and I can confirm that people listening to conversations without being brought in is a thing that can happen.
I would just like to point out that Frank dressed up as a vampire for the Halloween update so that would specify why he calls out the teeth marks. Hope this helps

Eddie has the bitten apple package, but...Eddie's a mailman. That doesn't belong to him. He's simply about to deliver it and as others have called out, Wally canonically loves apples. I didn't know about the lore floating around that says he eats with his eyes but he absolutely is able to reach out and absorb energies and brainwash people with them so I think it makes more sense that Home "took a bite" of the candy apple through Wally's eyes and that Eddie is delivering that package to Wally.
The haunting video is basically a scary story related to the town/Home. I find it interesting how it’s Sally that tells this story since she hasn’t been in the forefront thus far. Not to mention, near the end, Sally’s voice sounds very close to the recording. She obviously knows something. I wonder what it all means.

I think the closed captions and audio descriptions are genius. I feel like by making it a character in and of itself not only does it add to the average viewer but it helps encapsulate the vibe better for people actually who need it. Like it adds an element of mystery that would probably get lost in a literal transcription.
Ash's book is exactly the type of book I would expect Mat's figment of his brain would write. A mystery puzzle book you have to lore out lol
Just a bit more about apples connected to Halloween - apples were traditionally buried at Halloween to feed the dead. They also contain a star, or pentagram, in the centre, symbolic of protection and often used in occult settings. Perhaps I’ve jumped too far into things there, but the focus on apples and them being used to feed the dead is particularly interesting.
i think the bitten apple is connected to Frank. we already think hes different, trying to figure out what's going on. i think he gets called out for the apple, not bc he actually ate it, but to connect the apple symbolism to him. for the box, eddie is a mailman. those boxes aren't his. the box is green and yellow, so is frank's house and sweater. giving frank more connection to the bitten apple

This might just be me, and I also noticed everyone's names end in an 'E' sound, except Frank. Sally, Wally, Julie, Eddie, Barnaby, Howdy, Poppy...then Frank. That also sets him apart. The only thing with that is there's also Home, who doesn't have an 'E' sound at the end of their name either. I dunno, could be me overthinking, just food for thought! 😊

MatPat at 46:00 a speech bubble shows up next to Wally and the word "Hello" is written out. I can't say this information is 100% correct because I didn't see the posts myself, but I've seen a lot of people say that Frank and Eddie are canonically a couple. If Frank is already suspicious it's not a stretch to think their (Frank is nonbinary) partner would be too.
Clown has confirmed on their tumblr that Frank and Eddie are 100% a couple. Also, Frank is non-binary and goes by "they/them" (also canon). Hope this helps!

The "fang" reference was towards Frank's costume during Halloween. He was dressed as a Vampire for the Halloween special, and Barnaby messes with Frank often, so I took it as Barnaby knowing Wally took a bite, but used it as an opportunity to say that Frank bit it because he "sees fang marks" (targeting Frank by alluding to his costume).
Between the fangs and Sally’s monster that’s two vampire references (with it not breaking into homes but just wandering the streets at night) and Eddie is a mailman. So naturally he has to interact with everyone and know where they live even if this wasn’t a small community. Maybe this was supposed to give him more opportunities to be invited in?

I continue to get so excited every time there happens to be an update. I know this might be a stretch, but when she says "I forget how many eyes my brother has... At least two. Or was it three? No, no two..." I was thinking about Home's windows being eyes. Then saw that Frank's house has 3 windows - as though there were three eyes - and wondered if there might be a connection there. Probably not, but regardless, it's weird that Barnaby's place doesn't show ANY windows.
With the sudden notice that there is an unknown entity who is transcribing events going on but not necessarily knowing what is going on and having an opinion, plus then the inclusion of a mysterious narrator who listens in on the characters out of sight. . . That sounds like the monster in Sally's story to me. I think this is another character we just haven't been aware of until now
I have no idea about the Welcome Home fanbase being smaller but I've been chilling with it so yea, sure. The character designs and everything else really has their own charm. Cool stuff

What I got from the Halloween video was that, we (the camera or pov) are wally. But not just Wally, it’s house looking trough Wally. Wally isn’t there, that’s why he isn’t talking, his just observing for house. When his “call to action” happens, house lets go and lets Wally take over. All the videos, are house watching through Wally.
(The person writing the translation is probably just some worker watching the video, given a job.)

Better late than never, thanks for covering this Matpat, and going over the newest update. Barnaby is a comedian so he fits into the role of Pedrolino. Which in French Pedrolino is known as Pierrot, but that fact it is Sally specifically who is. Wally is possibly the Conduit for this Entity that Home is infested with(or is if Home is the Entity taken on physical form to blend in). Eddie shows in this update that like Wally and possibly Frank knows much, much more than we realize. Now the "fang marks" I think is just Barnaby being silly because so far we've yet to see anybody with "fangs" outside of costumes. Also Barnaby CALLS Wally Kid, because Wally is younger than him, and as a term of endearment. Now we know Wally eats with his eyes, but does anybody in the Neighborhood know about this about Wally, because if they don't then they wouldn't suspect Wally eating the apple. I don't think Eddie is evil, but I do think he is not as he seems, I think he is playing two roles-The friendly neighborhood mailman and the man who knows what is really going on and knows he needs to play his role or his friends and him will pay the price. The Narrator I think was just made for this audio recording, but maybe they were also in the show? We'll have to see in more updates if they return. Sally's story definitely cuts out and she talks directly to us the people listening to this very recording because the record distortion goes away. Which shows that maybe more or all the Neighbors know what is going on and are all looking for our help and not just Wally, they're all doing it in their unique ways-Wally with his phone calls, Eddie with letters, Frank with Bugs, and Sally with stories. Sorry for the long comment I just have a lot to say on this Project. Ash I hope we all get to see your story published.
I think it would be cool if Matpat did a video on "The Man in the Suit" I recently came across it and thought it would be good since it fits in with the whole Analog Horror.

24:04 I think if he was talking to someone and then turned to Wally there would’ve been more emphasis on “you” like if the interior is: “Ah don’t worry about it, there’s plenty to eat here. What about you Wally? What are you craving?” Then I think the delivery would’ve been more along the lines of “what are *you* feel hungry for, Wally?” As a way to say “hey, what about you?”
When you realize that in the group picture Wally is holding the bitten apple and as the devil, maybe he has fangs?
In my opinion, the asks or commands that MatPat discussed at the end of the video is home or wally seeing if they could add you, the viewer/player into their "cult" or make you a puppet. Or something like that. Also, im not sure, but maybe when you reverse sally and imagine the reverse picture where the picture usually is, it may look like she's pointing or praising home. Idk tho
Also, MatPat if you're reading this, I want you to know something. My mom, who is an English teacher, watched this video with me and she was very impressed with how you dissected the information and your use of words. She said that she would bring you up in her next class to show her students how she wanted them to search for information in books and stuff. :D
i feel like the implication for poppy, the whole "reverse this image", is that shes much more deeply connected to wally than we think because the moment that matpat reversed the image, i immediately noticed that she has the same color palette as wally. it could be because i just had this on the bg while i was drawing and art and colors was on the mind, but it is something-- i could also be completely wrong but hey, thats theorizing

The sound reminds me of the huge "clack" sound effect they normally use when someone is flipping a large switch (normally it is like, to a stage production light, shining down on the stage from above)
I'm pretty sure the audio transcriptions are coming from the restoration team and not from Wally. They are restoring the pieces of media from a lost state and not all of the footage is in tact so they're putting their best guess in the transcription, that's why it said "I think".
Wally is not a observer because wally is known to eat by just looking at the object as shown on one of clowns pages
I love all of Mats thoughts here. But with his thought of Eddie being, potentially, evil because of the apple on one of the boxes he’s carrying connecting to the glitch apple in the video…. I think he’s missing a HUGE detail there with the fact that Eddie is the mail man and each thing he’s carrying is for another character and not him.
The top is a bow shaped present for Julie, the bottom is Barnaby’s, and I think the middle looks the most like it represents Howdy. I think this because of its green coloring but also because Howdy is literally holding an apple in his own imagery and the box he holds is an apple with a caterpillar in it.
Do I know why that distinction could matter or what it means? Absouletly not.
Do I think Howdy might have fangs? Or that he even ate the apple? No! I’ve got no idea.
But I feel that detail could be important if who the apple “connects to” ends up mattering at all.
And for Howdy not being in the video I’m not sure if that matters either. Just a thought I had and wanted to share.
Potentially it could also be tying Howdy to Eddie? With the other video we got showing Eddie being afraid of a bug and Howdy having a lot of ties to potentially being a caterpillar. Maybe Eddie is scarred of Howdy? Idk anyway I love welcome home so much and I’m glad Mat is covering it.

Hey Matt and crew. I think I might have an idea on how to uncover the website command things. Although I'm not entirely certain it may work as I'm no expert, I feel Matt was on the right track. I feel you may need some website coding knowledge perhaps, so like he said, copy the website into your own version of the website that way you have access to editing the code itself. From there you can add text, alter the formatting of text etc.
Another thing for you Matt, you mentioned wishing there was a way you could see what something is exactly? There kind of is. If you right click a website you can "inspect element", this is the page's source code. You can also press Control, Shift and C to get here. Once this opens, there's a dotted box with an arrow, or you can press Control, Shift and C again to be able to highlight an object on the page, and it will jump to that area of code.

46:00 I don’t know if anyone else commented on this already, but when you were in the guestbook, Wally was drawn a speech bubble. It seems to me someone was writing hello in it, could the “write hello” thing be related to that?
Edit: I know there is a code to flip an image, I think it was “flip box”. I’m not good at programming stuff though, so I am not able to get it to work with the code sadly.

I thought it was interesting you said the way they talk around wally was fascinating because in one of the where they talk about being organized they made it very clear to us that wally sometimes just enters the room and stares at people

"Inspect Element," or some other thing depending on your browser probably, can be used to edit the html of a page you are looking at.
By using the one tool that selects the element you click on and pressing delete, you can remove elements.
One thing i'd like to mention is that wally can eat with his eyes. so maybe that could explain the apple thing since we see it move as well. It also could explain some other stuff as his staring being a threat in some way. But idk, just throwing that out there.
That's what I think happened to the apple, but idk why they called out the fangs.
Also, if I remember correctly Clown said it wasn't supposed to be a threat. He just likes eye contact! Although if Mr.Pat is correct it could be both, Home is threatening us but Wally is just being a goofy guy.
I am really curious to see where Mat's next theory video will take all this new, fractured information. This is continuing to intrigue! :D
A couple things to point out:
First off, I’m not sure if this is canon or fanon, but I’m pretty sure it’s been said that Wally can eat with his eyes, and I’m also pretty sure Clown said that apples are Wally’s favorite food.
Second, about the Boo and Yours audio and the whole idea of this monster at night, remember that drawing of Julie Clown put on their website before you click the link to Welcome home? I know they said it’s not canon/related to WH but I do think it’s worth considering that Julie is depicted as this cursed monster type thing in that one.
the bit apple in eddie's art is a gift, there is a Barnelby themed one directly under it. its most likely a gift for Wally, as he is known to like apples, as well as holding a bitten one in the halloween art.

I found it funny how deep he was going into the video about the fangs- when their just talking about a halloween costume lol.
at 45:57 of the vid the text bubble started writing "hello", so that could be what that "write Hello" could be reffering to. (i'm new to the fanbase, idk if this was from this new update or the last one)
It should also be noted that in the “happy haunting to boo and yours” picture that Wally has an candy apple and it has a bite taken out of it. It correlates with what Matt was saying about a bite out of an apple being a representation of a villain or of evil. Definitely something to think about.

Hey MatPat, in the guestbook when you scroll all the way down you see all the neighbors signatures. If you look at Howdy's signature it has a bitten apple. Don't know if that's important I just think it's something to put a lil thought into🤭💕

My headcanon is that the name "Welcome Home" is the biggest clue of all.
It's more like "Welcome, Home." As in, Wally is the harbinger of the arrival of Home in new worlds.

OMG to me ash's book sounds kinda like return of the obra dinn but written form thats so exciting!!! Where u piece together what happened through fragments of history that form smaller events but once you figure it all out you have the whole overarching story. If its like that itll be really good and if im wrong im sure itll still be amazing!!!
not sure if this is new or not but when you click on the character profiles they say "Go Back!" in colourful text but wally's says "Goodbye!" in all black.

Im not sure if this has been said before, but what if the person watching and narrating the videos is someone watching from inside house, and he uses wally as a way to watch, but when wally is called upon he loses connections
