  • Here is me, working x2 as fast, putting the clock forward by a whole 5 minutes.
The drastic change in weather has caused the clock to loose 5 minutes in the space of 2 days, whereas that would normally take about 2 weeks.
With the weather getting ever warmer, the climate in the tower changes. This can cause the clock to slow down as the temperature in the clock room increases, so the steeple keeper will have to go up and set the pendulum according to the weather and then fast forward time by 5 minutes to the current time!
It can be a faff to do, either because you've twiddled the adjustment screw on the bottom of the pendulum too far, or, you miss judge how long you think it will take to stop the clock, change the minutes, adjust the pendulum position and then start the clock again. I did mess it up at least once here!!
