I very much enjoy these creative little challenges you put together Rick. Interesting participants and fun, authentic golf challenges that regular golfers can all relate to. Well Done Sir!
Iona Stephen is gorgeous, and funny, and knowledgeable, and a hammer on the course. God was in top form on the day he created Iona. I could watch her all day.....i wish she had avoided that career ending injury....Ladies Golf would have been so much richer to have her... Pairing her with Rick Shiels was PERFECT! He is excellent. One of the best golf content creators thats ever existed. Well done. Loved this video!
I remember a few years back caddying on The Road Hole. My golfer tried the shot off of the wall only for the ball to rebound very fast and hit him squarely between the legs. The primal scream he let out was animalistic in nature., remember the wall is not an even surface and it could be more than your pride that gets hurt.
I had exactly this shot the year the Open last played at St Andrews. Stunned the ball into the bank with a 5 iron and left a 10 ft putt. Lots of bystanders watching and a round of applause for my effort....I was choked!
Rick I think you should bring Iona on more often she has such an infectious personality! I think she could keep you calmed down in your breaking 85 oops I mean 75 serries.
Great efforts from the bunker. I would opt for playing the 2nd shot to the Left hand side near the green / next tee, if I was out of position from the tee. Then chip up on the 3rd shot....hopefully getting close to the hole. Not my idea, we've seen pro golfers doing this in recent years.
Just subtle Scottish humour. The kind of rain that gets you wet, compared to the fifty varieties of light drizzle they have up there, which just get you damp.
Played the Old Course June 14...had 160 in on 17, hit my 140 club, still ended up on the road! It was a good bogey, and an incredible experience. Fairways fast, greens slow...shot 77...can't wait to play it again.
I like these challenges, but the Jimenez shot was not done right. You both were too far away from the wall to get the same effect that he got. It looked like you were at least twice the distance from the wall than him. He had hardly any follow-through too, and being closer gave him a better angle to pop the ball up quicker. The shot still required a lot of luck and just the right circumstances, which is par for the course.
Shouldn't they have been much closer to the wall to try the wall shot? It looks like they were far enough away from the wall that they could have tried a normal shot. Wasn't Jimenez much closer?
THE PROBLEM with the "Jiminez" shot, is that YOU WERE BOTH, standing to FAR AWAY, accompanied by OPENING UP THE ANGEL way to much!... the KEY to this shot is being VERY CLOSE to the wall, and hitting DIRECTLY like a POOL shoot, side rail 8 ball into the side pocket!!
Love the Old Course, was there years ago, it's the mandatory pilgrimage for all Golfers Now to the meat of the matter. It is wrong for R&A to ban Mr Norman, a two-time Champion (he earned it) or for that matter any LIV Golf Tournament Winner, not LIV member but a winner, the reasons as follows. !.) LIV Golf is only eight events, twelve by 2025 and they don't interfere with any majors 2.) The Courses that are selected and preparation for them make them as difficult as an Open, US Open or PGA Championship, each LIV event is a far tougher challenge than your above average PGA event 3.) The Winner of a LIV event has earned the right to be in The Open Championship because of number two above 4.) A LIV event doesn't really harm television revenue because they conclude on a Saturday and therefore golfers can watch the final round of that week's PGA or DP event. Truthfully, it's the fourth round everyone tunes in for anyway. 5.) I watched the last LIV and it was absolutely entertaining to behold, not just the challenge of the course but the structure of it and the crowd was almost but not quite that of a Cup event in excitement. 6) The LIV is a good compliment to the Tour, allowing both young and veteran to play both does no harm to the sport whatsoever. The harm is actually FAKE, created by the PGA Board to protect their power, not the institution. 7.) By rules a PGA member must play in fifteen events annually, therefore a LIV member can easily meet that requirement because LIV is now eight and in the future twelve events, therefore that schedule requires only twenty-seven events by 2025 and LIV will require six mandatory events by then therefore the requirements for both will be twenty-one annually
This was so epic!
That old footage of Miguel Angel Jimenez is amazing this guy looks so cool and classy !
The chemistry is amazing!! I had loads of fun watching! Cheers
I wanna know how painful it was to scrape that wedge on the road 😂 that hurt me deep down
Who's Ioda? 04:54 ;)
@@Sorter18 bet he looks real classy in jail!
Heaps of fun Rick and Iona - thanks so much!
Great fun, thanks for having me!
Glad other marketing people are realizing the audience and loyalty that Rick has
Loyalty over LIV
Great little series. Hope there are more with Rick and Iona
Did you see the one on Ricks channel from yesterday? They played off the roof of the hotel. Good Times.
@@norcalzx3 That was on this channel, it's the video before this one. Very cool though.
This Open content is objectively badass. The access is just phenomenal.
Ricks technique out of the road is better than his normal chips 😂
Rick better have Iona on his channel now!! Great stuff
He was on her channel I think...
God I hope not!
Iona's bunkershots were BUTTER smooth!
So much fun to watch! Thank-You Rick and Iona!
The best play? The Open bringing Rick to the team! Keep doing what you do!
I really enjoyed these couple of videos with you and Iona. Great chemistry and I really hope their is more videos featuring you both!

I'm really enjoying these video with Iona. She brings a good energy to the golf world.
Another unexpected - unexpectedly great video! You're rocking it Rick.
I like the videos from Rick, watch them and learn from Rick some tricks. Thanks Rick, Jan - Belgian golfer
Loving these little challenges! Iona was great out of the bunker and had a solid technique - she looks to be a good player!
I very much enjoy these creative little challenges you put together Rick. Interesting participants and fun, authentic golf challenges that regular golfers can all relate to. Well Done Sir!
Love this series, what a great way to encourage people towards playing golf.
Great video. I could listen to Iona all day.
This series is legendary.
Love these videos with these two!!
Brilliant love Iona, great lady, you should do more of these little nuggets
Let’s go Rick and Liona!!! Love it
Absolutely brilliant
“We call this ‘wet rain.’”
So good. Can't wait for the rest to drop soon 🙌

Well done. Loved this video!
You weren’t close enough to the wall for the Himenez shot, you could’ve got a club to it at your distance 😂
Correct. Jiminez was a foot or so from wall
was thinking that 😅 Jiminez was so close it was ridicilous. That literally was his only play.
Self preservation I suppose. He was so close it could have taken out his front teeth. Can understand Rick n Iona not risking that.
We need more Iona on the channel

Two brilliant videos on the course and the challenges, loving ion
These challenge videos are awesome...keep them coming!

I could watch and listen to Iona all day. Great series. Rick is alright too
Peter Aliss called the road hole bunker 'The Sands of Nakagima' after his 9 there.
That really looked fun! Great job both of you.
Iona was lovely, and you should include her in the future.
Glad to see Rick Shiels getting some promo from the open. I've learned so much from his videos

man those road swings made me wince!
Wonderful to see shots from places I end up in.🤫
Iona is adorable!
Fun challenges!! Would so love to do this!
Rick on the open channel! Sweet
She is awesome. Play with her more!
Classic, thanks 🙏
Thankyou for having me she says, what a polite lady.
I was wincing every time you two were hitting that wedge on the road!!!!!
Let’s put it this way Phil.
Us mere mortals wouldn’t be trying that with our own bought and paid for £150 Vokey's 😉😉🤣🤣
@@MC-nb6jx True!!!! I think I would be using the 'foot' wedge!!!
@@MC-nb6jx
Why not? Wedges should be changed out every year anyway.
Never gonna learn to do it if you don’t do it.
@@Peter-ff1tp … Learn to do it 🤣🤣
99.9% of golf courses you get relief off roads/paths, no need to knacker a wedge😉😉
That wedge would go on my wall!
How does this man get in every RUclips video? 🤣
I might do a bump and run of the road with my 9 iron. Pretty, pretty good with that shot.
That was so much fun!!
Really enjoy this content
She's so awesome
Great footage" should call the show Iona and friends
Love these!
How do you get access to all these beautiful golf courses! 👍🏻🍺🇨🇦⛳️LOVE the Accents
Love her accent
I enjoy your videos so much
Awesome Rick
Rick won a chipping challenge? I'm calling shenanigans 🤪
Can someone pep explain to me the expression “we call this wet rain”?
Just subtle Scottish humour. The kind of rain that gets you wet, compared to the fifty varieties of light drizzle they have up there, which just get you damp.
LOVE RICK!
Good Rick!
Iona is great Rick barely beat her. Great series.
Loads of fun
Nah, she won. Her ball did not bounce back from the sign.
Good call, I said he did not deserve victory, I can believe more comments have not come in unfavour of iona.
Iona was great from that first bunker
Thanks for having me.. In his dreams 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice work 👏👏👍🏻👍🏻
Rick I think you won by default that sign really helped you out, well done.
In The Open the R & A rake the sand away from the wall making it a foot deeper and downhill.
She is lovely. She's great on the broadcasts as well.
It’s ya boi!!

The road hole, my thoughts always go to how Michael Campbell played this hole way back in 90s I think it was
Who's here for Iona , man she cute
Rick the legend
Movin' up in the world, Rick?
Was that part with Phil ripping one out of bounds on purpose by the Open?? 😂
I love you Rick but the sign should have been out of bounds. I give that one to Iona.
Can we have a picture of the wedges after the road shot need a before and after snap haha
5:18
Who else loves ricks videos?
But Rick, you forgot to link Iona's channel!
This isn’t Ricks channel.
Rick!!!
hey rick, what kind of shoes are that?
He signed with Ecco
Why do they show the main highlight in the first 5 seconds
Iona good vid commrade
Rick is cool 😎
That Collin off the road?

Great challenge and that Irish accent is near and dear to my heart!
Irish? Its Scottish
Cutest commentator in golf, !! No, not you Rick!!
