As an Englishman I must say that it is heartwarming to see that some parts of this once proud Island are proud to keep their traditions alive. In England, it seems, we have either forgotten how to or are just not allowed to do this anymore. To any Scottish and Welsh folk who may come across this comment.... "Please do not ever lose your National identity, keep up your traditions, protect them well and pass them on with pride to your children". England has lost its own identity, please don't let the same thing happen to you good Folk.
I'm a New Zealander with both English and Scottish heritage. It saddens my heart to see what England has become, and so many other western nations. I wish that people would stop feeling that it's racist to want to preserve their culture and heritage...it's not. Wars have been fought to prevent foreign nations from invading other countries, yet we are supposed to believe that it's wrong to object to our cultures being forever changed by demographic replacement...all without our consent. I too hope that people will rise up to protect their heritage before it's too late. In some countries it may already be. 😔

Scotland shouldn’t be in wars around the globe, we’re a small country that doesnt have youth to waste. As for hating people from England, Iagree with Dick Gaughan “Let friendship and honour unite and flourish on both sides of the Tweed”
@@rmac8378 Thank you for explaining and i get it i just still use the term British as its historical meaning we all are from the British Isles so we have our own nations but united together in Britain so when we say British military no one i know would call it the English military its British because its made from all corners of Britain and as for past wars before ww1 and 2 please remember it was a different time please don't judge history through the gaze of modern eyes it simply was a different time and as for wars and not many youth to go to war i completely understand we all feel the same since we have broken from the shackles of the EU i and all others i know want no more wars overseas let's focus on ourselves we need no more wars unless in self defence so we need to maintain a strong military and our nuclear capabilities but as a deterrent so no sane person would want to go to war so no loss of life. for the future all of us should focus on our people. together we can do great things we can build a united kingdom were we have everything we could ever need or want more business, more industries, more trade, future tech, we can achieve anything together. i know it was a different time and we used war but we will not use war in the future but remember we built the largest empire in human history together. one island with our history and technical prowess we can create a future we can all be proud of.
@@luciffertribal794 Ww1 was a different time yes but many stood out against the war at the time, much like iraq, so it’s not right to say “it was the times” because many many people opposed it and were jailed for doing so. Ww2 is different of course, that was a worthy war. About nukes, I don’t believe in nuclear deterrents, i believe in protecting our borders, no country would be mad enough to nuke Scotland or England. Scotland doesn’t want them and they’ve costed us billions. As for a “united kingdom”, i don’t want a kingdom, i want a scottish republic. Also i don’t live on “one island” my country of Scotland had 700 islands. Scotland and England need to break away for both our sakes, we’re too different. I believe culture is wealth and makes people happy and neither of our countries can have a real national culture while we’re split and confused between english or British and in Scotland Scottish or British. In your country a lot of people (especially metropolitan city folk) barely call themselves “english” because they think it sounds bad. England needs to be it’s own country.

Born Fighting as Senator Jim Webb states in his book about how Scots-Irish Americans shaped America. Im a descendant of the Montgomerys, the first Scots-Irish to settle in Appalachia. I've always loved pipe and drum corps. VMI, the military college I graduated from has one bc of the Scotish traditions in the Highlands and Valley of Virginia.
Does anyone else go online and watch the tattoo competitions? It's really quite moving and exhilarating! Several years ago I attended the Tattoo/Highland Games at Stone Mountain, just outside Atlanta. What a thrill it was to watch all those pipe & drum bands playing & marching in mass. They covered the entire field. I was crying and cheering like crazy. I would love to travel to Scotland to see the tattoo at Edinburgh Castle. I've watched it online but just know the "up close & personal" version would be so much more thrilling. There is also a large Highland Games exhibition with pipe bands at Grandfather Mountain, NC. Ahhhhhhh, bliss.
My dad was a Scotsman, and every new years eve we would be woken up to this being played at full blast! I get the same goose bumps now as I got as a kid listening to it,he spent 22 years in the RAF and was proud as hell. My dad has now passed and this brought a tear to my eye. Thank you ❤️

Always loving this song. Born in Stirling, taught to play bagpipes from the wee age of 5, knew this off by heart by the time I was 6. 37 now, still play this whenever a really good event happens in my life, or before a big event (like how soldiers would play this marching towards battle, for me playing this before, for example, a big job interview). Keeping up the tradition, and always will to the grave. Go Scotland! 🏴

@@luciffertribal794
Ww1 was a different time yes but many stood out against the war at the time, much like iraq, so it’s not right to say “it was the times” because many many people opposed it and were jailed for doing so.
I'm not scottish and I never been in this country but believe me how I love your country your music and above all how I love your pride
God bless you
I lived in Glasgow as a kid 1953 to 1956.l am 72 years old now and hearing this still brings tears to my eyes.Scotland is the land of my first memories. ❤ ❤ ❤
Home sweet home always
Am an English man but this is truly amazing to see & hear 🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧
Long live the uk
Un saludo cordial desde España
My dad was a Scotsman, and every new years eve we would be woken up to this being played at full blast!
I get the same goose bumps now as I got as a kid listening to it,he spent 22 years in the RAF and was proud as hell.
My dad has now passed and this brought a tear to my eye. Thank you ❤️
Eyes wet every time I hear bagpipes! Love Scotland, from Argentina
I might be a born-and-raised American, but I’ve been listening to this stuff ever since I was little. Best regards from 🇺🇸
there are many cultures with pride in their roots, traditions and costumes, but these guys are literally above them all. This is literal Braveheart-pride in the 21st century. Awesome!
A large part of my respect for them is because they have not forgotten their customs and traditions that carry a big part of their history Which is passed on from generation to generation .
Long live Scotland
Greetings from the Arabian Peninsula 🇸🇦
Why and when were pipes banned in Scotland?

Moors fall before the swords of the 3 kings like grass before a good scythe!
My heritage is Hispanic but I love this !!!!! If I could afford it I would travel to Scotland before I die to see these beautiful performances of tradition of the Scottish people .
Nice to see those who are proud of their tradition. If you're not, who else would be?
Exactly!!!!!!
I’m pure & proud Ukrainian but Scotland the Brave always has a place in my heart ♥️
Sends chills down my spine. You can't help but feel the power. 🏴💪
As a US Marine at one time I had the pleasure of seeing a Scots Parade live at one time while over across the pond. It was back in the early 80's and was well taken by me.
I'm as English as they come, and I live in Wales now, but if this doesn't stir your soul, you must be dead.

I love and appreciate such pride in heritage. It's so genuine; something that isn't common these days.
As an Englishman I gladly admit, this still gives me goosebumps, the finest, most tenacious warriors the British ever had, and are likely to have, long live the brave.
Mair cannon fodder for your empire mair like.
My paternal grandmother was Scot, and if I could have had my way, Scotland The Brave would have been played at her funeral. Blessed be Ye, Grandma.
greetings from germany.. Well done ...nice to see there are people still left in europe who proudly present their ancestors traditions rituals !
People wonder why Scots and Irish drink so much but when you make music this beautiful the only way not to cry is swallowing whisky
I imagine to travel to 🏴 and see this for real. What a moment. 🤩
A hug from Portugal to Scotland. 🇵🇹🤝🏴

I love bagpipes. It brings a tear to my eye every time I hear them. I went to a Military school that had bagpipers. I regret not learning to play. I would love to go to Scotland some day. Thank you.

That's the whole idea!
That's why they are also known as the war pipes.
I'm from Italy but every time I hear the pipes I have goosebumps !!! I love Scotland ❤
We in the US would never have had a country without these hard nosed, stubborn Scots. God Bless them. I wish we had them over here now.
We do. And those of us with Jacobite heritage hate you Trump supporting pieces if trash more than we do the British
They are here now, they work in the police and fire department with the Irish.
Trump's mother is Scottish
Thank goodness we have bagpipers here in our beloved states to give us a good show
I am Hungarian, and my soul is with the Scottish, a brave nation, an example to follow
Listening to bagpipes never gets old. Hello from Atlanta, Georgia. 👍

As a Scot, it genuinely fills my heart with pride that so many people from so many nations relate to this video, it's music and the Scots. We might only be a nation of 5 million, but at times our reach seems far greater. If you want to be a Scot, then simply let this music lift you up to that dream.
To all those who have commented, thank you. I was one of the pipers on that glorious day in July 2019. Sadley 2020 was cancelled, some virus i believe, the virus doesn't stand a chance in Dufftown,,,,home of some of the worlds best whiskies...virus V whisky...whisky wins...always..... however I hope the 2021 Dufftown games will go ahead, all are very very welcome, see you all there july 2021.....bring a friend and make the 2021 Games awesome!

You have heard nothing until you hear massed pipers playing “Scotland The Brave” live…chills every single time ❤
First time I heard Scotland the Brave was in the movie the Devils Brigade. ( Should tell you how old I am.) Hope to hear it live one day. God bless from the U.S.
As an American this is truly awe inspiring.
If I had to die for my country going into battle I would want to hear the Star Spangled Banner and then this song. God Bless all the troops in the World that fight the good fight to preserve our freedoms all over. May God be with us all.
I'm an American of Scandinavian and English ancestry. I don't have a Scots gene in my make up, but I love the pipes from the first time I ever heard them as a small child, when they marched by in a parade.
Everytime I hear the pipes I get a chill and a thrill. I especially love Scotland the Brave and Amazing Grace. The pipes and drum are my guilty pleasure I guess you could say.
If Scotland is NOT free you are not Free.

@H U well i hope so too, that's what i think: Scotland has never had things in common with GB, Scotland is just unique and even if i'm not scottish but i'm from Bretagne( France) i think we have much more things in common, Scotland is a place where you feel at home and people are so humble and hardworkers and at the same time they know how to cry and smile at the same time
Love scotch whisky (Dalmore is my favorite one btw):))))
And that is Scotland! The pipes...the hills...the marching and the sheer colour and spectacle! Stay with us always. Scotland the Brave indeed. I'm English.

I'm Scottish and I'm always filled with an immense sense of pride when I hear the bagpipes. I also get a little emotional but I don't really know why
Many of us get emotional when we hear the massed bands!
ME TOO.
I’ve always loved the pipes! They reach to the very core of my being! My maiden name is derived from the Scottish name Balderee. Maybe, just maybe I’ve got a tiny bit of Scott in me. My husband is Scottish and Irish, so I know our son and our grandchildren do! Said son and family gifted me a DNA kit for my birthday, can’t wait to get my results!!! ❤️
If you feel it, you are! Love from Scotland!
This is AMAZING! I’m not Scottish and I’ve never been to Scotland, but I’ve always loved the sound of bagpipes! 🤩 They sound so clean and powerful! My favorite countries in the UK are definitely Scotland and Wales 🏴🏴 Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Imagine your in a battle with smoke everywhere, you're getting low on ammo and the enemy has you surrounded, all seems lost when all of a sudden you hear the faint sound of bagpipes in the distance and hope sneaks back into your soul...
If you hear pipes hell and help are coming.
Dude I love your icon
Don't make me cry
The skirl of the pipes has inspired more than a few soldiers, & put the fear of God into many more.
Bagpipes are physically impossible to be "faint".
No wonder the Scots are great warriors , this really stirs the heart and soul !
Keep marching brave Scotland! and don't let the jaws of modernity tear apart your ancient traditions. Greetings from Mexico!!
