Storm Sebastian 30 to 50 Knots gusty Headwind landings at Buitenveldertbaan Amsterdam Schiphol AMS

- 1st Day Hurricane / Orkan Sebastian at AMS with A380, A330. A350, B747, B757, B777, B787 Dreamliner and more aircraft from not so well known airlines.
Landing at Polderbaan with 90° Crosswind wasn’t possible, therefore the aircraft approach above Amsterdam City and landed during very strong and gusty headwind at Buitenveldertbaan RWY 27. Sturmtief Sturm Sebastian.
You will see more than 50 landings and additional starts from Kaagbaan RWY 24.
One KLM Cargo B747 landed at Kaagbaan too.
After 3 hours Plane-Spotting at this spotting place at McDonalds I went to the head of Runway 27 to records approach and landings with the runway landing lights. For this I will upload a separate video. Another video from this storm on the second day will show very wet landings at Buitenveldertbaan 27 and take-offs from runway 18L Aalsmeerbahn. Hello Canada :) Yup, that's absolutely right, and
we also have one of a dangerous sea, the Noordzee/ Northsea at the tides has heavy 'groundsea's.' A while ago a huge containership ( MSC Zoe) lost a great amount of cargo due to the groundsea's, maybe you've seen it also here on yt? So yeas we have lotts of heavy weather here in our tiny Netherlands, they predicting today (sunday 10 march '19) stormwind up to 9bft. What we don't have is real snowfall, last time was 2011( kneehigh) so we look with a bit of envy to the VS and East Europe (Germany- Austria-Switserland. ;-)
There no many nice places like this one to see the landing. This pilots make it look easy. Some better than others but in general excelent job

That's right and Amsterdam Schiphol is the best without fence. If I asked the police at Detroit airport for taking videos, they answered: stay away from the fence.
@@HvdH-Plane Detroit police would also get suspicious for taking videos of aircrafts landing.

I landed at that airport while on holidays in Europe in a strong head wind, we had a missed approach he bailed on the landing and went around again. I thought is was the end cos we were close to ground it was a KLM B737. But then the captain told as while we were looping around to land that there was a plane still on the runway.

15:35 the plane on the background was going vertical
Again, I’m seeing a lot of adverse yaw on the 380 in gusty conditions. I winder whether this might be due to insufficient feedback to the pilots using the sidestick control. I always had LOTS of feedback in the yoke of my 1966 Cessna 172, an earlier model with a smaller fin than later models. I always loved “challenging” conditions, preferring to sideslip to the runway rather than crabbing, as the airlines seem to do. Highwing aircraft do have some advantages.
A 380 and Boeing 747 400 KLM the best landings by my opinion!!🤗
Look like the air bus 380 and Boeing 747 have a smooth landing, the rest were shaky.

Sorry to say this but this storm had no name in the Netherlands.
Was coming from UK, they name their Atlantic storms. The stormwind they predict for today (sunday 10 march'19) is also coming from UK south/west, same as yesterday. ;-)
The 747 in the thumbnail........ looked like the nose wheel would detach if it really touched down like that!
