      Sheila Smith thank you so much! That means a lot!! I’ve got a lot more coming this year! I will be putting out more garden videos than ever this year, because I’m just not going to edit them as much. That will be the only way I can get more videos out, because editing takes a long time. That time of year I’m so busy in the garden full-time that sometimes it’s hard to come in after a long days work and have to edit for a few more hours. This year there may be some that are still edited, but most of them will just be raw. You’ll still get the same great information, but more videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the videos and comment, it’s very much appreciated!

    I wish you guys were near me 😭😭😭 I have to wait until clearance at Lowe's for my flowers to be affordable. The Petunias...the Waves and Proven Winners, Superbells and Verbena's are all $5 and up. The small pots are $5 and the medium and large pots are $6 to $28. The small pots go on sale for $1 when they start dying so thats all I can buy. I went all out this year, but all of the ones I got on clearance haven't put on a show. They never recovered although I have followed all guidelines for watering, fertilizing and pruning, and still....no show. I cant afford brand new plants from lowes, especially Proven Winners, so that's why I say I wish I lived near you. I am green with envy!! And sad watching this lol

    Everyone's gardens are beautiful! What kinds of fertilizers do you use on flowers and tomatoes?

    • @TheLawrenceGardenFarm
      @TheLawrenceGardenFarm  6 лет назад +1

      I switch it up a lot, and use whatever I have on hand a lot. On my veggies I'll use an all purpose, unless it's tomatoes or berries. then I use and acidic fertilizer. I'm usually organic, but this year I just wanted to test the difference, so in the past years, I always just used worm casting and jobes dry fertilizer. on my flowers, I use jacks bloom booster. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!!!

    Hi, first of all I would just like to say how amazing and thanks for sharing. Also, you mention you fertilize twice a week, Is this because of the amount of flowers this plants need to produce? Maybe this is what I need to do as my flowers bloom but not as good as these. I fertilize only every 2 weeks with a liquid fertilizer. Can I ask what fertilizer you use?

    • @TheLawrenceGardenFarm
      @TheLawrenceGardenFarm  5 лет назад

      MsFlowerwow The reason for fertilizing twice a week is because it’s near the end of August, which is near the end of our growing season. This time of year everything is really rooted and coming to an end. When we up the fertilizer, it creates them to last all the way to the end and still look awesome! If you don’t fertilize enough at the end they get really rough looking and don’t last as long. In the beginning of the season I only fertilize every 7 to 10 days. We just start fertilizing more as the season goes on. When it comes to flowering plants any water soluble fertilizer that says bloom booster or for flowers. I sometimes use jacks, miracle grow, proven winners, there’s a lot out there and they all pretty much do the same thing

    Hey Casey. Can you tell me approx. what size the pot is that you have the king tut, coleus and sweet potato vine in? I have a planter that I would like to try like this but I wasn't sure if it was big enough! Also, I have never grown a king tut before and was wondering if what you show in the video at around 8:40 was just one king tut plant or if there were multiple in that planter? Final question... where I was thinking of putting this planter is in front of my business and it is on an east facing wall. I had coleus and sweet potato vine there last year and they done great, but wasn't sure if the king tut would do well there too?? Thanks for any help you can give! -Cole

    • @TheLawrenceGardenFarm
      @TheLawrenceGardenFarm  5 лет назад

      coleyounger1985 It is 3 feet wide and 3 feet high. It’s a round pot. We got it at a garden show a few years ago. I haven’t seen them anywhere else since. I’ve been looking because I have a lot of people asking me about them

  • @marykay55
    @marykay55 5 лет назад +1

    OMG, I would love to have all of what you planted...however in my back yard I have squirrels and rabbits who EAT any flower or vegetable I plant. It is so discouraging that I don't plant beds any more... ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    • @TheLawrenceGardenFarm
      @TheLawrenceGardenFarm  5 лет назад +1

      Mary Kay if the raised beds are tall enough that should keep the rabbits out, are the squirrels you would almost need a cover. We are going to be planting up what is called a veggie pod it is a raised garden bed with a cover that goes over it to protect, it also helps things grow faster as it acts like a greenhouse, If you Google it, let us know what you think, we can send you a link if you wanted to purchase one

    What kind of fertilizer and pesticides do you use?

    • @TheLawrenceGardenFarm
      @TheLawrenceGardenFarm  5 лет назад

      I've experimented with a lot of different fertilizers, and even this year, i tried things that aren't organic on the food, just to see if there is a difference. From my trials, this is what i will be using next year, i'm going back to the Organic Jobes Vegetable fertilizer for my food. This year I tried out schultz, i noticed a bit of a better difference in performance and production, but not enough for me to go inorganic again. On my tomatoes i use the jobes tomato. Heads up, it does have a smell for 2 days, so don't spread it before you have company coming, haha! I also start my gardens with worm castings mixed into the soil, along with compost.
      For my flowers, I never go organic. I use Jacks Bloom Booster, and I get it from amazon. As for pesticides, i mix my own mixture with neem oil. If i have a bug breakout that is overwhelming, i will use earths best. Also, whenever i find a ladybug anywhere, i put it on the problem areas, because they eat aphids and thrips. They key to controlling bad bugs, is to be ahead of them. As soon as I get everything planted for the season, that's when i do my first spraying! I stay away from any new seedlings. And always spray at the end of the day, when the sun isn't hot. I hope this helps!
